CAS Melons

DSCF6425

Two quick CAS cards today, both using scraps from the Melon Mambo and Rose RedPatterns DP that I used on my scrapbook page shown here.  I love it when you can stretch your supplies!  Okay, here’s the first one:

DSCF6374

I used the negative portion of the Fun Flowers diecut to create a framed piece and added some retired dotted ribbon.  The sentiment is from a hostess set called Afterthoughts.  There is actually another part of the sentiment – “I love being spoiled” – which I didn’t really care for, so I cut that off and adhered it to the side of the wood block.  I can still use it if I want, but I love the clean look of the “Thanks” all by itself!   Another card:

DSCF6424

I picked up this cute stamp at my local Amish stamp store on Saturday, stamped it once in Melon Mambo on textured white and again on my Patterns scraps…cut out the hearts and paper-pieced them into the design, then added a scallop and a couple more stamped hearts from Itty Bitty Bits, and I have a quick Valentine!

Be sure to stop back tomorrow for the ColourQ!!!  More snow is on the way!  Oh joy!  And don’t forget that there is still time to enter the Paper Players blog hop – see my link here.

Paper Players Blog Hop!!!

Blog Hop Button

Welcome to the Paper Players first Blog Hop!!!  Hopefully you’ve arrived here from Julie’s blog here.  We’ll be showcasing creative projects using products from  SU’s new mini catalog, so be sure to visit all the designers!!  Some MAY even have blog candy!!!  You can start at the very beginning by visiting the Paper Players blog, or just proceed to Lesley, whose blog is the next stop on the hop and follow along!  This is sort of a long post, but be sure to check at the end to see MY blog candy!

The stamp set I chose to highlight is Easter Blossoms.  I just love silhouettes, and the little girl skipping along just sealed the deal!  Here’s my first creation:

PP Blog Hop 30

My little girl is stamped in Stazon on Springtime Vintage DP and mounted on Very Vanilla and a Baja Breeze panel embossed with the Framed Tulips embossing folder.  A little seam binding and lace and a pearl-centered flower were all this sweet card needed!  I also made a very simple scrapbook page with this image.  You know I am NOT a scrapper, so bear with me:

DSCF6372

I used another piece of Springtime Vintage paper, mounted on a 12x12 Very Vanilla, and this time my little silhouette is stamped in Rose Red. I then mounted my stamped panel on a Cherry Cobbler mat, which is mounted on a square piece of Rose Red that has been embossed with the Framed Tulips embossing folder. Yes, a square!  You can see a nice tutorial about how to make a square here by my creative friend Donna!

DSCF6368

I used a sentiment from Word Play, and some new diecut flowers called Fun Flowers, also in the mini:

DSCF6369

They were cut from Rose Red & Melon Mambo Patterns DP, then had their edges sponged.

My third project is a  sweet little CAS Easter card using Versamark, regular dye ink and clear embossing powder:

DSCF6364

Each egg was inked in the Versamark first, then on Pear Pizzazz, Peach Parfait and Daffodil Delight, and stamped on Whisper White; clear EP was sprinkled on and heated, then the egg was cut out.  Make sure to clean your stamp between each color!!!  I used a flower punch from the Itty Bitty Punch Pack to make my flowers:

DSCF6365

I think that is such a quick easy way to add a sweet embellishment to your card!

Finally, using the Stampin’ Royalty sketch 56 from this week and the Color Dare 94 colors (Pretty in Pink, Pear Pizzazz and Perfect Plum), I made this card using the cherry blossom image:

DSCF6363

I also used a little flourish from Vintage Vogue to stamp on the vellum panel in Craft White:

DSCF6362

I hope these creations as well as the others, have inspired you!  NOW---on to the blog candy!  I am giving away THIS SET:

DSCF6373

Love U Stencils

DSCF6394

This month’s club members got to use SU’s Love U stencil set. I wasn’t real excited about them when I saw them in the Definitely Decorative catalog, but I got a set and they sat on my shelf until I was cleaning one day and remembered I had them! They ended being real fun to use! Perfect timing for Valentine’s! Here’s the card they made, along with two mini cards I demo’ed for the hostesses:

DSCF6392

The stencil was sponged with Regal Rose ink, then again with a dauber dipped in Frost Vanilla shimmery paint. It gave a nice little shine to it; then we stamped the x-o-x-o definition from Define Your Life over top in Stazon—good practice with the Stamp-a-ma-jig! The mini card on the left was sponged with Melon Mambo, and a flourish from Style Beautiful was stamped in Rich Razzleberry. The mini card on the right was sponged with Pretty in Pink and Pear Pizzazz, and a simple pearl was placed in the center.

Here are two other samples using the same stencil set:

and in keeping with my one-a-week Christmas card challenge to myself:

I am not feeling too spiffy today, so I’ll sign off here---email me if you have any questions!

More Sewing…

DSCF6328

I have another sewing-themed card today, also made with Sew Suite!  I hope that in the future, SU will make sentiments that go with themed sets…..I had to put on my thinking cap to create one to go with this card:

DSCF6326

To get me started, I used the Pals Paper Arts sketch from last week and some cheery papers from Sweet Stitches.  Of course, I had to use some buttons too!  My sentiment is from Three Little Words and Puns from the Past….I just stamped “sew” on a separate piece of cardstock, punched it out and mounted it on the “thanks” sentiment!  I love the effect!!  Thanks for visiting today!  Be sure to come back on Sunday for the first ever Paper Players BLOG HOP!!

  • Stamps:  Sew Suite, Three Little Words, Puns from the Past
  • Paper:  WW, So Saffron, Marina Mist, Tangerine Tango, Sweet Stitches DP
  • Ink:  Stazon, Marina Mist

PPA78 & WT307

DSCF6354

I have been wanting to make this card like this since the moment I saw SU’s Sew Suite set in the mini catalog!  I got my inspiration from Gwen’s blog header at Gwenny Penny, a really cute blog that features sewing and quick easy crafts.  When Arielle showed me her adorable sewing sentiments, I knew I could incorporate one of them into my card…and then, when I saw the SCS WT307 challenge today, which was “rainbows”, I KNEW today was the day!  This also (lamely) qualifies for the Pals Paper Arts challenge 78, which is to use bows on your card.  So here we go:

DSCF6357

This is a rather long card, obviously!  It will fit in a business-size envelope nicely, though. I used my Stamp-a-ma-jig to position the spools evenly along my panel, stamped them with Stazon, then colored them with markers in Real Red, Tangerine Tango, Daffodil Delight, Wild Wasabi, Marina Mist, Rich Razzleberry and Melon Mambo, and the spools in Crumb Cake.  I used a blender pen to make the highlights.  I printed out Arielle’s sentiment and used a Labels 4 Nestie to cut it out, then ran some black grosgrain ribbon through for my bow.  This card just makes me smile—clean & simple, bright, cheery spools of thread!!!

DSCF6355

We had a big snowstorm yesterday---17” worth!!!  We have dodged the bullets that most of the northeast have gotten, but we got hit big time this go-round!  Here’s a couple pix:

First Birthday Cupcake

DSCF6332-1

I had a request to make a baby girl’s first birthday card, and it gave me a chance to use my new Hello Cupcake Pure Innocence stamp that a {sweet} friend recently gave me!  I also managed to incorporate four challenges as well:

So here we go:

DSCF6333

I thoroughly enjoyed making this card!  I got to use some BG Nook & Pantry cupcake paper as well as some other scraps in my pile.  The sentiment was computer generated….a little coloring, a little glitter, some luscious pink satin ribbon, a line of stitching around the edge and a little lace from my sewing stash finished it off!

DSCF6332

Thanks for visiting today!

  • Stamps:  Hello Cupcake, MFT
  • Paper:  Pink Pirouette, Shimmery White, Close to Cocoa, Baja Breeze Patterns DP, BG Nook & Pantry
  • Ink:  Memento Black
  • Acc:  Copics, Nesties, Oval & Oval Scallop Punches, DD Glitter, SU Satin Ribbon, lace from my stash, sewing machine, dimensionals

Color Throwdown 126 & SSSC101

DSCF6324

Hey there, everyone!  It’s Wednesday and that means Color Throwdown!  Today, Danielle is our hostess and she has chosen these earthy colors to throw down:

swatch 126

I am feeling a little under the weather, so I did an easy card using some wonderful BG papers that I found that had most of the colors I needed!  I also used the Sweet Sunday Sketch #101:

SSSC101

I chose to make mine square in order to fit my DP better:

CTD126

My sentiment is a digi from my friend Arielle’s little shop, Wax Fruit Company.  I printed it on Whisper White, then brayered it with River Rock and stamped Sanded in Crumb Cake over top.  My Copic selection is not too extensive, so the color’s not quite Marina Mist!  The flourish is from Verve’s A Cup of Life.

DSCF6323

My single embellishment is a little shabby flower made from the various DPs using my Boho Blossoms punch .  All in all, a pretty easy card which will go to a friend who is going through a rough time right now!

Be sure to check out what the other CTD designers have come up with this week:

DSCF6322

  • Stamps:  Sanded; A Cup of Life, Flourishes
  • Paper:  Marina Mist, Early Espresso, WW, Old Olive, BG Stella Ruby & Lemonade
  • Ink:  Crumb Cake, River Rock
  • Acc:  Nesties, Scallop Trim Border Punch, Boho Blossom Punch, Brad, Dimensionals, Dauber

ColourQ 69

Happy Tuesday, everyone! Every once in a while, Arielle throws me a curve ball….that’s what she says, anyway! I think this week was it...this ColourQ really had me stumped! The colors say “fall” but the thermometer said “zero” yesterday and I just couldn’t do fall! So here’s the “cue”:

cqc69

and here’s my take on it:

CQC69_LeAnne

DSCF6318

My little tabs were rounded with the 1” circle punch, then pierced, faux-stitched, stamped with the retired Linen BG stamp, and buttoned up. The card itself is textured Whisper White; sentiment is from Curly Cute. I did some piercing at the bottom as well:

DSCF6316

Then I thought I might try another----pulled out an older set that hasn’t seen ink in a while—Always—and did another 6” card:

DSCF6319

Sentiment is from Three Little Words.

Now…..how about some Cassidy pix? This is what happens when a 5-month-old gets a stamp set in her hands for the first time (ignore the peach-stained bib):

Yep….into the mouth it goes!

Sale-a-Bration Challenges

I had some solid stamping time yesterday and made samples for the SAB set, Punch Bunch!  There were TONS of sketch challenges out in blogland this week, so I made use of several!  (Since I have so many, I am not going to show the sketches, but you can check the links!)  I don’t usually cram five cards into one post, so I apologize for the length!  If you need details about any of the supplies used, just email me!!

#1 doesn’t use a sketch!  It’s just my favorite! :D
