CCMC395 Company Store-Inspired Birthday

Happy Leap Day, everyone!  I must say, even though February is the shortest month of the year, it feels like this month will NEVER end!  I am happy to turn the calendar to March tomorrow!

I was reading my latest Southern Living magazine and came across this ad for some bedding from The Company Store:

The colors intrigued me, and since I needed a birthday card, I decided to try to replicate the design.  In hindsight, I wish I had used Marina Mist instead of Lost Lagoon, but otherwise, I am happy with it:

The card base is Smoky Slate, and I used Hello Honey, Lost Lagoon, Mint Macaron, Mossy Meadow and Cameo Coral for my ink colors.  I outlined each floral image on the background with a white gel pen (and I see I missed one at the top...boo).  The stamps I used were Flower Patch, Endless Thanks and Summer Silhouettes along with a sentiment from Remembering Your Birthday, and I used the sketch from Create with Connie & Mary:

CCMC395

I used Cottage Greetings for the inside, stamping the flowers in Basic Black and using a blender pen and ink to color them in:

Do you ever get inspiration from pictures or people's clothing (that happens to me in church, LOL!)?  I am interested in hearing where others get their inspiration!  Thanks so much for popping by today!  And I don't think I ever shared this photo from Valentine's, when Cassidy lined up all her gifts.  "Lovey" the hedgehog was by far the favorite, almost edging out Lambie for top billing!!!

Paper Players 284

Happy Sunday, peeps!  I missed playing with my Players last week. so it's good to be back in the company of my stamping friends!  Claire is our hostess with a fabulous sketch this week:

Isn't it awesome?  So many fun ways to interpret this sketch!  Just wait until you see what the design team has done!  I was just gifted these beautiful papers from my sweet friend Teri, so I couldn't wait to put them to use....so happy and cheerful!

They are from Graphic 45's Mother Goose Collection, and I diecut some posies from Riding Hood Red and Marina Mist cardstock with Delightful Dijon centers.  The dies are from Simon Says and are called Radiant Sunflower.  I added a sentiment from the current Paper Pumpkin stamp set, and added a few sequins for fun:

And here's the inside, stamped with a few more florals from the Paper Pumpkin set along with a sentiment from Botanicals for You:

Can't wait to see what you all do with this sketch!  Share your creation with us over at the Paper Players!  Meanwhile, check out the DT's submissions:

Cassidy tried her hand at some artwork she found in her Highlights magazine!  She did really well...I only helped her with the hind feet and tail:

Not bad for a budding artist!  Enjoy your day and thanks for stopping by!

MTS113 Joyful Deer

Happy Saturday, everyone!  I am back from vacation and trying to find my stamping mojo!  It took a vacation too, I am afraid!  I chose the sketch from Match the Sketch for a quick Christmas card:

I got these nice woodland-themed papers before Christmas on Etsy and don't remember the name of company, but they coordinate nicely together!  I added a Naturals White diecut snowflake with a little dazzling center and brown ribbon for trim.  The sentiment and deer silhouette on the inside are from SU's Jolly Christmas, stamped in Garden Green and Sahara Sand:

Another Christmas card to add to my stack...December will be here before we know it!

A little swimming pool action in the bathroom:

And a little tin becomes a hot tub for the dog!  Enjoy your day!

SIP35 Sympathy

Hi peeps!  Happy Wednesday...the middle of the week, yay!  I needed a sympathy card and put to use the great sketch from Stamp Ink Paper:

SIP Sketch Challenge 35 800
I pulled out some lovely MME papers called Stella and Rose for my card:

I matched up some gold-toned papers, added gold baker's twine, lace trim and a little organdy flower that I sprinkled with some gold glitter.....I hope that it's not inappropriate to add a little sparkle to a sympathy card!  I added a glimmer paper banner and some sequins as well.

The sentiment is from a past Paper Pumpkin kit.

Thanks for popping in!  I will be taking a wee little blog break for some R&R, but I'll see you late next week!

TSOT258 Happy Birthday Dana

Happy Tuesday, everyone!  Today's a special day...yes, it's Tuesday, so that means a Try Stampin' on Tuesday sketch, but it's also my DD's 33rd birthday!  Wow, how did that happen??  So today's card is for Dana!  Here's the sketch:

The bonus theme is "Love is in the Air" and I love my Dana very much, so I think it's appropriate:

I used the florals from Flower Patch for my flowers, and they were stamped on some blush-colored Authentique papers called Grateful.  They matched some floral paper from MME's My Story perfectly!  I diecut some leaves from Mossy Meadow DSP and added Mossy Meadow ribbon along the edge.  My final touch was some retired Blushing Bride pleated ribbon and sequins!

The sentiment is from Papertrey's Botanical Silhouettes, also stamped in Mossy Meadow:

The florals were stamped in Blushing Bride and Strawberry Slush, with centers of Mossy Meadow:

And the inside:

I sure hope you'll play along with this beautiful sketch...so many possibilities with this one!  Check out the samples at TSOT and share yours with us as well!  We can't wait to see them!

My beautiful girls on a recent trip to Philadelphia!

Have a blessed day and thanks for stopping by!

INKspire Me 236 Sunny Day

Hi peeps!  Happy Monday....it's a school holiday today and Cassidy is home all day, so this will be short!  Hope you had an awesome weekend!  I have a real simple card today, it uses the sketch from IN(K)SPIRE me:

I took a wee little bit of liberty with the sketch, lowering my circle, just because I liked the way it looked!  I already had Silhouettes & Scripts on my desk from yesterday's card, and I thought the Paper Players' color challenge was so pretty, I would use it again:

My DSP is from the Schoolhouse line; I stamped the image in Daffodil Delight and Tangerine Tango, then cut them out and layered them on a Pool Party circle diecut (Lil'Inkers).  I added some Pool Party ribbon from last year's SAB stash:

A really simple, easy card!  I love this sketch!  I might add a birthday sentiment on the inside, but I haven't really decided yet!  Thanks for popping in today!

Paper Players 282

Happy Sunday, everyone!  Time for another Paper Players challenge, and today Laurie is our hostess with a bright, fresh, springy color challenge for us:

I just received Silhouettes & Script, and I thought that little peach would be a good way to incorporate the Tangerine Tango into my "eclectic" card!  Here ya go:

Again, I used up some scraps I had laying on my desk, but this barely made a dent in my scrap pile, LOL!  I stamped the sunburst from Kinda Eclectic and added some speckles from Timeless Textures.  The yellow squiggly line is from Hello, and there is a tiny bit of embossing at the bottom, created with a Lawn Fawn Stitched  Borders die.  I finished it off with some twine and enamel dots!

The design team has outdone themselves with a vast array of super-duper creations using these colors, so I hope you'll throw yours in the mix too!  You can check them out at the Paper Players blog or here:

And since today is Valentine's Day, I thought I would share what Grampy did for Cassidy as she got off the bus on Friday....the snowman was already partially done; he added the face and the little message!  What a sweetie!

Enjoy your day and thanks for popping by!

MM191 Chalkboard

Hi everyone! I have been lax in keeping up with my Christmas card making, so I took on the Merry Monday chalkboard challenge:

I stamped this Papertrey sentiment from O Holy Night on some SU chalkboard paper...adding a few stars from Holly Jolly Greetings, then punching it out with the tag punch:

I assembled my card using some papers from DCWV's Crafty Christmas stack, adding an embossed Cherry Cobbler strip and some Lil'Inker diecut holly leaves and berries.  I smudged the edges of my tag, but I obviously should have hit the sentiment with the heat tool....it smudged all by itself, without my help!  It kind of looks like a real chalkboard that way, I guess, LOL!  Another one for the pile!

We spent yesterday morning decorating a few mini coffee cups for Valentine's gifts!  First, sticking the DSP on the outside:

Then, adding some punched hearts:

Mommy's got a special tag....tying the twine takes a lot of concentration:

It was her idea to adhere the hearts this way....so cute and clever!  She also tucked the tag inside the candy-filled cup so that when mommy opened it up, she would see the twine and pull out the tag...another of her own ideas!

All three of her creations!

Enjoy your day and be sure to pop back in tomorrow for a new Paper Players challenge!
