PP456 Poinsettia Tree

Hi peeps!  Time for another Paper Players challenge!  Laurie has a GREAT sketch for us this week...I even made two cards with it!  So here's the sketch:

And here's my card---a combination of new and old goodies!!!  I used a new set from the Holiday catalog called Shine Bright, and I stamped it in Mint Macaron ink, then used Light and Dark Mint Macaron Blends to color it in:

I used a gold Zig Painty pen to fill in the little berries, then added a Gold Foil scalloped mat, embellished it with a flower punched from the Triple Flower Punch and anchored with a gold brad.  For the lower panel, I used some Mint Macaron gingham DSP, stamping a partial sentiment (Christmas Pines) with the new Golden Glitz Delicata ink and mounted everything on a white card base that was embossed with the retired Petals A-Plenty embossing folder.

For my second card, I pulled out some printed papers gifted to me by my friend Teri, stamped a cute little pup from a CTMH set, colored it with some Blends and added sentiments from Happy Tails and Picture Perfect Birthday:

This went to my nephew....he might think it's a little juvenile, but he always likes my cards, hopefully he'll like this one too!

Thanks for popping in today---I hope you'll play along with Laurie's wonderful sketch and share your creation with us at the Paper Players blog!  While you're there, check out what the DT created as well!

We have had a bumper crop of green and purple beans this year....our garden just keeps producing them and we couldn't eat them all, so I decided to freeze some earlier this past week.  Cassidy was itching to play a new game she got, so she actually pitched in and helped so that I could finish up and we could play!!

She was a good helper, and we had a lot of fun playing Sleeping Queens....I highly recommend it!

I am going to be taking a little bloggy vacation, spending time with hubby, so I will see you next Sunday, when I am the hostess at the Players!  Enjoy your week and be blessed!

ICC050 Feathery Thanks

Happy Saturday, peeps!  Just a quick easy card today using a quick easy sketch from Inspire.Create:

And it's not a Christmas card!!   I needed a quick thank you card, so I used some of the new fall papers from the Holiday catalog, though; they're called Come to Gather, and this one features that pretty new In Color, Pretty Peacock:

I used a sentiment from A Big Thank You and the feather from the May Paper Pumpkin kit, stamped in Pool Party, then added a Mint Macaron ribbon.  For a little extra interest, I diecut a Nested Label from Pretty Peacock cardstock, cut it in half and layered it behind the diecut circle:

Before mounting it on my Thick White card, I embossed the front with the Subtle embossing folder...I love the effect that gives!

Cassidy spent some time yesterday drawing pictures for Jackie and Lee....after spending each morning and afternoon on the school bus with Lee, she was a little sad about not seeing him every day.  So she drew him a poster of an XBox 360:

and for Jackie, she drew something she called a Golden (uni)corn....she misspelled Golden, but the drawing is still pretty good!

I am going to miss these creative moments!  Thanks for popping today; enjoy it and be blessed!

FMS400 Another Christmas Card

Happy Friday, stampers!  I know I am inundating you with red, green, mint and Christmas, but I just can't help playing with my new goodies and sharing them with you!  Today's card uses this FMS sketch, still celebrating their 400th challenge:

I am using the new Cup of Christmas and Cup of Cheer dies again, with some assorted green and red DSPs, Real Red and Call Me Clover cardstocks:

I stamped a sentiment from the same set and diecut it with a Stitched Rectangle die, then added a swirl from the Christmas Cardinal dies, embellished with a couple of little Real Red epoxy dots from last year's Holiday catalog:

I love this fun set!  Thanks for popping in today!

Today is a bittersweet day; it's the last day I'll be babysitting Cassidy on a regular basis.  She'll be going to a new school next week, and although I'll have her during the summer and on vacation days, I will miss her face in the mornings, getting her on and off the bus, and playing and crafting with her.  I have had her since she was a newborn and I appreciate all the love you've given her through the years!!  Here she is with her latest creation....she created a holder for her brush and comb (she says she wants to be a hairdresser!) and what you can't see are the pretend paper scissors and razor she created...pretty clever!  She was taking this to our minister's house to play with his children...they love to have her "do" their hair!

Here she is, styling Luke and Lydia's hair:

Then she "posed" them, as if they were having their school pictures taken!!!  It cracks me up how they just go along with her schemes, LOL!

Enjoy your day and be blessed!

IB86 Nautical Hello

Hi crafters!  It's time for another Inspired By challenge this week....Laurel has another seasonal one for us in shades of blue, yellow and white!  Here's my take on it:

And here's the pretty photo prompt:

I put together a few DSPs, nautical images and die cuts for my friendship/hello card!  I started with the lighthouse from Sailing Home, stamped in Night of Navy and diecut with the Smooth Sailing die.  I put it on top of some nautical DSP from a few years back; a Daffodil Delight anchor (My Favorite Things dies) was mounted on top of a striped piece of DSP from Come Sail Away.  Finally, a Night of Navy wheel (Smooth Sailing) was mounted on top of a piece of Daffodil Delight polka-dotted DSP from a few years back as well!!  (Love using up some of that older DSP!)

I finished it off with a sentiment from Bloom and Grow, diecut with the cute banner die from Smooth Sailing:

Oops, I almost forgot; I lightly stamped the seagulls from Sailing Home at the top and bottom of the card, just for a little additional interest!  I left the inside blank, until I am ready to use it for whatever occasion might arise!!

Thanks for popping in today!  I hope that this photo inspired you to play along with us at Inspired By...come on over and share your creation with us too!

Cassidy, Wayne and Dana went to a Skillet concert recently; Cass is lucky that Wayne doesn't mind holding her up so she could see better!!

Enjoy your day and be blessed!

Tags Tags Tags for Christmas

Happy Tuesday, peeps!  No challenges today, just some samples I made recently using another fun new set from the upcoming Holiday catalog called Tags Tags Tags!!  Talk about cutting your crafting time -- with this bundle you can stamp three holiday tags at one time, then cut them all out at one time!  What a fabulous idea!  Now, I usually don't make fancy tags for my Christmas gifts because they just get chucked in the trash, LOL!  BUT these tags are so cute, they make great embellishments for cards!!  Plus there are little extra dies to make them even more special!  I created a "package" with a piece of Pool Party cardstock I already had diecut and didn't use; I stamped it with a flower from Shine Bright, then added "ribbon" from some little DSP scraps I had left over from yesterday's project:

I added some narrow strips of Real Red cardstock to imitate ribbon, and a diecut bow from the Cup of Cheer dies, a little snowflake and a rhinestone that I colored red with a Real Red blend:

I used the second die for a simple 4 1/4" square card, simply adding it on top of a piece of Wrapped in Plaid DSP and adding some Call Me Clover Grosgrain ribbon:

Easy and cute!

Thanks for visiting today!

One last shot from Turkey Hill:

Enjoy your day and be blessed!

TSOT421 Cup of Christmas

Hello everyone!  Happy Monday, hope you had a great weekend!  I am still playing with some of my new goodies, and this new set is one I am really excited about!  It's called Cup of Christmas, and it features two different mug stamps that can be used on either side, so you can make the handles face the right or the left!  AND there are matching dies (Cup of Cheer) that come with lots of other sweet little dies as well!  I love this set!  I paired it with this adorable Let It Snow Specialty DSP...oh my goodness, is this stuff amazing!  Glitter, cute designs, you're going to love it too!  SO....here's my card:

I used the sketch from Try Stampin' On Tuesday:

I stamped a mug in Call Me Clover and Real Red, then diecut them and placed them atop a Stitched Rectangle panel.  I added some Pool Party holly and a little red diecut bow, then stamped the sentiment in Pool Party and diecut it with a Stitched Rectangle die as well"

For the horizontal panels, I stamped the little pine bough from Winter Woods in Pool Party and layered it on a white mat:

It's a tad bit busy, but I just love these papers....the colors are so fun for holidays and winter stamping!  Thanks for popping in today!

I stand corrected; Cassidy had a MARIO Brothers party, not Minecraft.  So sorry!  Here's her cake:

Her party was at her karate studio; Master Fisher has games and activities for them to do, and they seemed to like it!  The highlight of the day was that Cassidy broke her first board!  I wish I had been there to see it!

Enjoy your day and be blessed!

CAS Kid's Cards Times Three

Happy Sunday, peeps!  Time for another Paper Players challenge, with Joanne as our hostess!  She's got a fun challenge for us all:

I actually made THREE cards before I was really happy, does that ever happen to you?  But I needed to do some other things this weekend, so it is what it is!!!  Here's my final one; it uses an old Cornish Heritage Farms set called Make the Grade along with a Paper Pumpkin sentiment:

I stamped each crayon using inks in Granny Apple Green, Real Red, Gorgeous Grape, Bermuda Bay, Pumpkin Pie, Pacific Point, Crushed Curry and Poppy Parade, then cut each one out and adhered them to a card that was embossed with a Jumbo Polka Dot embossing folder.  On the inside, I stamped a few more images from the same CHF set:

Another card I created (at least I'll have a few kid's birthday cards, right?!) was this one, using the FMS sketch and Just Add Ink challenge of no stamping:

I scrounged around my scrap bin and found some printed papers, added a little diecut dump truck, and then added some SRM stickers for my sentiments:

Easy peasy!  My only complaint about this one is that the edge of the stickers  are really visible on the printed paper.  Finally, since yesterday was Cassidy's birthday, and she was having a Minecraft birthday party (sigh), I made her a creeper notecard-sized birthday card.  NOT what I would choose for a 9YO little girl, but she has very definite likes and dislikes, and she does not like girly colors and she does like Minecraft, so Minecraft it is:

I created the creeper with Granny Apple Green and Basic Gray cardstocks, stamping the "HB2U" with the Labeler Alphabet (ret) and mounting it on a Chevron-embossed panel.  And here is her most recent fashion "accessory"....blue hair!!!

At least it's not neon....and really, it's kind of pretty!!  It will fade out eventually, but meanwhile, it's her signature style for now!

Anyway, thanks for popping in! I hope that you'll play along with the Paper Players this week...the DT has some really fun creations, you need to check them all out and share yours with us too!  See you at the Paper Players blog!

GDP202 Peaceful Cardinal

Hey peeps!  I have a late post today, I've been busy playing with some new goodies from the Holiday catalog...lovely things!  I really liked the Global Design Project sketch:

as it gave me a chance to use the new Toile Christmas bundle, as well as the new Wrapped in Plaid DSP--they are both delightful!

The plaids all have a nice little line of gold running through them, which really makes them special!  And the cardinal image is BIG!!  I was a little intimidated by its size, but it watercolored quickly after I stamped it in Stazon, and the dies cut it out perfectly!  I really like the new dies, they cut more closely and make for a cleaner image.  It's also hard to see, but I stamped a sentiment from Itty Bitty Christmas on the Shaded Spruce with the new Delicata Golden Glitz ink pad!  So pretty---SU hasn't had gold ink for a while, and it's about time!!!  So here's a closeup of Mr Cardinal; I added a Gold Foil panel at the bottom as well as a little Gold Thread bow at the top:

And the pretty sentiment on the inside:

This is a beautiful set, I can't wait to play with it some more!  Thanks for popping in today! Be sure to come back tomorrow for a new Paper Player challenge!

No cardinal pictures, but I have been enthralled by all the finches that have been having a feast on my quickly-wilting sunflowers!  I couldn't wait for them to start eating the seeds, and it's been a blast!  At any given time, I have male and female goldfinches, purple finches (or house finches, I can't tell the difference), and even hummers...they don't eat the seeds, but they seem to find the flowers intriguing!  This little female looks like she is saying grace for that big sunflower from which she's about to dine:

And look how this little guy has his claws on the edge of the flower so he can hang upside down!!

They are very vocal, too...I actually saw one male feeding a female because she wouldn't BE QUIET!!  LOL!

I took these photos through the screen from my craft room, so they're not very clear, but I hope you like them!  Enjoy your day and be blessed!
