Hey kiddos! Friday has finally arrived, and with it comes a new As You See It challenge! And I must add, this is an extra-special challenge, because we are adding a new member to our team...the uber-creative (and lovely Paper Player teamie), Joanne James. If you've not visited her blog, The Crafty Owl, you're in for a treat...she is one crafty chick!! Give her a big welcome when you visit!
Our challenge today is a "fill in the blank"...those are always fun! This week, we want you to use your favorite die or punch:
I can't tell you how excited I was when SU came out with the Stitched Shapes dies! I use them so much, the name is wearing off the front of the plastic envelope! The circles are the ones I go to most, so I paired them with some Wrapped In Plaid and Gold Foil DSPs to make a card:
I kept my background plain but I did emboss it with a Tim Holtz Poinsettia Knit EF, then added a diecut sentiment from the retired Christmas Greetings dies; I cut out three layers and adhered them together for an extra pop:
Finally, I added some sequins from my stash for a little extra sparkle! This would be a great way to use up some DSP scraps, don't you think?
So what's your favorite die or punch? Share it with us at As You See It so we can see it too! Thanks for popping in today!
We took an impromptu trip to Longwood Gardens last night...they had a fountain show set to Broadway music, and of course it was fabulous! A little rain shower before the show kept us under the tent, but John was content to drink a beer while we listened to Polkadelphia...a polka band from Philly! Then the rain stopped and we only got our seats wet a tiny little bit, LOL! It was a fun way to spend a late summer evening! My photos are not that good but hopefully you can get a feel for the evening! It was fun to watch the change as the evening got darker and darker!
How can just water and lights be so spectacular?! Enjoy your day and be blessed!

Fun circles.....pretty holiday card! And oh those gardens.....always beautiful!
How fun was that...both the show and your card. I love the fountains at Epcot that dance to music. Have a great weekend.
First of all, I love the papers you've chosen for your favorite dies - a girl can't go wrong with a set of circle dies!! Wonderful card!
Second - we have a Musical Fountain in Grand Haven, MI [just south of us] but the setting isn't nearly as beautiful as this one! Something about the water moving in time with the music, right? Mesmerizing - how fun with the Broadway tunes!

Goodness, that looks like a wonderful evening out LeAnne! How beautiful the fountains look all lit up like that.
I love your latest idea for using up the designer paper snippets - will definitely be borrowing that idea! - and I like the stacked sentiment. When I replace my Big Shot I think those stitched shapes might go on my shopping list too.
Ditto my friend - these shapes are my absolute go-to and my packet, which always sits at the front of the box, is looking truly dog-eared!! Love how you used them to create this fun card and a great way to use up scraps rather than have them hanging around in the drawer. The darker colours make your stacked white sentiment diecut standout too - I love it! Thrilled to be joining you on the AYSI team too and wish I had been there to see the dancing fountains - they look fab!
I like your patterned circles cascading down your card, this is lovely! The fountain show looks and sounds wonderful. I would love to see that!
