RR33 and CCMC396 Hexagon Sympathy

Happy Monday, peeps! Did you watch the Downton Abbey finale?  I was hoping Edith's missing beau would turn up, but I guess the alternative seemed to be a happy one....lots of happiness all round, in fact!  But now what will I watch on Sunday nights?!  Maybe Mr. Fellowes will have a new series for us soon!

A quick card this morning, unfortunately it's a sympathy card for a family who lost their son much too soon.  I used the color palette from Create with Connie & Mary and the sketch from Retro Rubber:

                                      CCMC396                                                    RRCB 33

And here is my card:

In order to fit all five hexagons across my card, I had to make it longer than a standard A2 card; this one is almost 7" x 3 3/4", and again, I made a custom envelope with my Envelope Punch Board.  The hexagons are from Six-Sided Sampler, stamped in the challenge colors, and I used the Zigzag embossing folder for my background and some washi tape from a Project Life kit.  The Teeny Tiny Wishes sentiment is stamped on Botanical Vellum and trimmed with the Itty Bitty Banners die, then embellished with some black candy dots.

Thanks so much for popping in today!

Great card, LeAnne! I honestly saw that CCMC color challenge and I was like "Ewwwww", but I've been seeing some great stuff - like yours with it! And the hexagons are just fun! xo Crystal

An elegant and tasteful sympathy card. How terribly sad to lose a child. For your Sunday night TV watching, may I suggest a new show called The Family on ABC. After the first two episodes I'm hooked :)

Hello LeAnne, how fabulous to find your beautiful card in the gallery.
It's beautiful and sweet, hopefully will lift the spirits of this family on this sad occasion, there are not words when you loose a child, no matter the age.
Thank you for playing along with our Retro Rubber challenge this week, we hope to see you often in the gallery.
Big Hugs,

Maria Rodriguez.

Wonderful sympathy card! They're hard to make, but they'll appreciate the love that went in to it. I'm with you on Downton Abbey!! I thought either Marigold's daddy was going to object or Anna was going to go into labor at the wedding!! Poor Edith finally got her happily ever after. I was disappointed they didn't tell us the name of Anna's baby boy :( We also like Home Fires on PBS, hope it comes back.

Great idea to elongate the card so that you could fit a neat row of hexagons! I love how the different patterns come together, and the Washi Tape is a nice touch! Thank you for joining us at Create with Connie and Mary!

This is so cute and I love the hexagons with the Zig Zag EF, good combo. I always hate to make sympathy cards but I know this will be appreciated. So sorry for your friend's loss.

I will be CASEing this card for sure, Leanne. The abundance of geometic and linear lines make this so very elegant. The bold colors with this sentiment and purpose. Love seeing you in the Retro Rubber gallery!!!

Downton Abbey was my all time favorite show! I am so glad Edith got her happy ending and also loved all the other little details that were tied together so well.

It's never to young to learn the basics for pot washing. Great parenting produces great young people! Lucky you!!

So great to see you in the gallery again, dear friend! Your card makes me want to get all of my geometric stuff out and play. You combined the challenges very well. Downton Abbey was so well made and cast that I doubt we will find anything to surpass it. I am very happy for Edith's happy ending and even found myself liking Mr. Barrow for the first time! All's well that end's well, right? Looking forward to a spin-off - for Tom!! (keeping my fingers crossed for that!) Thanks for playing along with Retro Rubber and hope you will join us again soon.
