PP636 Just a Note

Happy Sunday, everyone!  I am the hostess over at the Paper Players this week, and it's time for a clean-and-simple challenge!  This should be a fun one for everyone:

I pulled out a retired set called It Starts With Art and stamped the pens and pencil with some Stazon, then went to work:

I chose the inks of Bermuda Bay, Mango Melody and Polished Pink for the Inspire.Create challenge,

coloring each implement with ink and an aquapainter.  The sentiment is from Stamp Simply.  I added mats of Mango Melody and Polished Pink and the background panels were embossed with Ornate Floral and Typewriter embossing folders. I did add some sequins, which really match better in real life than they look here!

I also used the sketch from Tuesday Morning Sketches:

I hope you'll play along with us this week and stamp something clean and simple with our theme!  Be sure to hop over to the Paper Players blog to see what the design team came up with!  And be sure to share yours with us too!  You might get to be the Headliner!  Enjoy your day and be blessed!

Tis the Season

Happy Friday, peeps! I have been very neglectful in keeping up with my Christmas cards; it's a bit challenging when the temps are in the 80s!  But there were some fun challenges around, so I put on my elf hat and went to work!  I used the sketch from TSOT, the Peace on Earth Day challenge from Jingle Belles (use something recycled) and the 52 Christmas Card Throwdown color challenge of red and green:

I began with a white card base and I found this knit-embossed panel in my stash; someone gifted it to me a long time ago and I have been hoarding it!  Time to put it to use!

Many years ago, my creative friend Michele sent me these Papertrey sleds; this is the last one in my little stash!  I mounted it on some Shaded Spruce and Basic White panels that were embossed and diecut, then I embellished it with some greenery and a little brass bell that was recycled from a gift package my friend Sandy gave me!  The wood-grain circle is also recycled; when Michele sent me the sleds, she sent them in a cool wood-grain envelope, which I carefully unassembled and used the flap to diecut a circle!  Thanks, Michele!

Both sentiments inside and out are from Simon Says Stamp.

Thanks for visiting today!  Enjoy it and be blessed!

FMS581 Just Wanted to Say

Happy Thursday, peeps!  A fun little thank you card is on deck today using the FMS sketch for this week:

Since Country Bouquet is carried over into the new catalog, I thought I would give it a whirl; it's not just for Valentine's, right?  I used Mint Macaron and Crushed Curry on a gingham background for a springy creation; I began by embossing the gingham with the Stitched With Whimsy die:

After stamping and fussy-cutting the heart out, I also stamped some of the sprigs from the same set and fussy-cut them out too.  I added a crushed seam binding ribbon, some sequins, and the sentiment:

On the inside, I added a strip of the same DSP as well as a sentiment from Nature's Prints:

And it's in the mail!  Thanks for popping in today--enjoy it and be blessed!  And I don't know how it is in your neck of the woods but it is HOT here in PA!  Very un-spring-like!

Inspired By Nature in Purple

Happy Wednesday, everyone!  Laurel Seabrook has a pretty Inspired By Nature photo inspiration today as well as a fun sketch:

Isn't this pretty?  Are there really purple mushrooms in real life?  Not sure!  Anyway, I usually RUN from shades of purple, but I thought I would challenge myself.  I used the sketch as well as some purple cardstocks, so here we go:

I used panels of Purple Posy (retired), Fresh Freesia and Highland Heather for my layers.  I used some dies to cut some scalloped panels, then added some embossed pieces on top.  The smallest layer is a diecut tag; I stamped the words from Quiet Meadow in Craft white ink, then added a spring stamped in Soft Seafoam on top, and embellished it with some Linen Thread:

My final addition was an embossed sentiment on a little banner of Soft Seafoam:

I am also entering this at Little Red Wagon this week, which is asking for layers! Definitely out of my comfort zone, but hopefully someone will enjoy receiving it!  And it was fun to use some retired as well as retiring products!  Thanks for popping in today; enjoy it and be blessed!

AHSC520 Sunflower Thanks

Happy Tuesday, peeps!  Hope you all had a nice weekend, we certainly did, and I relaxed yesterday and tried to get my craft room in order for all my new goodies!  The Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge made me think of the retiring Celebrate Sunflowers!   Here's the sketch:

And here we go:

I think I may have gone overboard with the diecuts, but it was fun to get some use out of them before they retire!  I stamped the smaller sunflower in Black Stazon ink and used Daffodil Delight and Cajun Craze inks to color it, using Pear Pizzazz for all the greenery:

I used the "friend" from Love For You for the sentiment; I used layers of Daffodil Delight and Pear Pizzazz DSPs, as well as a mat of Cajun Craze for my Gingham-embossed Basic White layer.  I stamped only a portion of the sentiment from the Sunflower set for another sentiment at the bottom:

This is such a great sunflower set, I may just keep this one!  Thanks for visiting today!

Some pictures from Easter:

Enjoy your day and be blessed!

PP635 Happy Pastel Easter

Happy Easter everyone!  Joanne is our Paper Players hostess today and I couldn't help making just one more Easter card using these cute Impression Obsession bunnies!  Here's our prompt for her color challenge:

I was looking through some scraps of DSP and I came across a little piece of this sweet Little Fawn and Friends paper by Craft Consortium; I sort of "forgot" that I had it....that never happens to you, does it?  Anyway, there was a piece with a circle already diecut from it so I decided to use the remaining "frame" to make a little pastel green square card:

I used a piece of Soft Seafoam to create a 4 1/4" square card and placed my frame over it.

In the opening, I used a diecut Easter greeting from Pretty Pink Posh, then placed my little bunnies, stamped in Smoky Slate, around the edge:

I just happened to have a scrap piece of Certainly Celery ribbon hanging around, so I formed that into a bow shape and added it to the top.  Aren't those bunnies sweet against that pretty pale gray paper and little snowdrops?

I hope you'll play along with our pastel color challenge this week!  Be sure to hop on over to the Paper Players blog to see what beautiful creations the team made!  Then you can share yours too!  See you there!  Enjoy your day and be blessed!

Christ the Lord is risen today!  Hallelujah!

Happy Resurrection Day!

After the Sabbath, at dawn on the first day of the week, Mary Magdalene and the other Mary went to look at the tomb.  There was a violent earthquake, for an angel of the Lord came down from heaven and, going to the tomb, rolled back the stone and sat on it.  His appearance was like lightning, and his clothes were white as snow.  The guards were so afraid of him that they shook and became like dead men.  The angel said to the women, "Do not be afraid, for I know that you are looking for Jesus, who was crucified.  He is not here; he has risen, just as he said.  Come and see the place where he lay.  Then go quickly and tell his disciples: 'He has risen from the dead and is going ahead of you into Galilee. There you will see him.' Now I have told you.  Matthew 28:1-7
