IB200 - It's All About You!

Happy Thursday, everyone! It's the last Inspired By of the year, and we've got a fun challenge for you!  We want to celebrate YOU!

We're being inspired this week by all the 2021 winners at Inspired By!  If you hop on over to the IB blog, you'll see a link to all the winners' posts!  Choose one that inspires you and make a card to share with us!  There are also PRIZES!! Woohoo!  But first, let me show you my card:

I was inspired by this card by my sweet friend Bonnie:

I really liked how she "framed" that little bunny with that fun die.  I changed the orientation of mine to fit this lovely vintage Santa image from Simple Stories.  I created a double frame with some Cherry Cobbler cardstock and square dies, and added some vintage glitter to Santa's tree:

Then some stamping and an embossed mat:

I created some holly leaves from Granny Apple Green cardstock and Garden Green and Old Olive inks, embellishing them with some Real Red rhinestones:

And stamped a vintage sentiment and tree on the inside:

In hindsight, I wish I had kept the background plain like Bonnie did hers, but I was enamored with all the papers from my Simple Vintage Christmas paper from Simple Stories and I went a bit overboard!  I am also going to enter this at Sparkles Monthly Challenge, because they're looking for vintage Christmas!

Oh, and I promised a prize (US participants, only...sorry!), and here it is:

You can find more details on the blog...be sure to check it out!  And thanks so much for popping in today!  Enjoy it and be blessed!

"Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy, and where thieves break in and steal.  But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moth and rust do not destroy, and where thieves do not break in and steal.  For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also." TCCHOL21 A Favorite Card

Hi there everyone!  It's the last challenge for The Card Concept for 2021, and we've got something a little different!  You can share a photo of your Christmas tree or holiday decor, or you can share a favorite card that you created this year:

My Christmas tree is pretty much the same every year, so I decided to share a card that I had fun making earlier in the year!  Here it is:

This card originally posted in early April and you can see the original post HERE.  I really enjoyed the details on the card, even though I had to color and fussy-cut all the little flower groupings to create the wreath!  That little watering can is just too cute too!

So I hope you'll share some of your decorations, or maybe your favorite card from this past year!  Can't wait to see what you choose to share with us at The Card Concept!

GDP322 Polished Pink Birthday

Happy Tuesday, peeps!  I have challenged myself to stop making Christmas cards AND use some colors I rarely use: bright pinks!  The Global Design Project had a pretty sketch:

I hadn't played with the new Eden's Garden set yet, so I pulled out the In Color Polished Pink and stamped a couple of the images, adding some accents with Melon Mambo ink:

I used Shimmery White cardstock for my main panel.  I blurred the images a little bit with an aquapainter, then added some speckles, rose-colored metallic thread and some sequins:

I added a strip of rose glimmer paper along the edge, and the sentiment is from the SAB set, Special Moments.  The dot that looks black is actually a Royal Peacock rhinestone!!!  The angle of the camera really made it look wonky!  And here's the inside....a fun little snarky sentiment (I added the parentheses)!

Thanks for popping in today---now off to wrap some presents!  Enjoy it and be blessed!

SSC272 Rejoice

Hi everyone! Happy Monday!  Hope you had a good weekend! I saw a nice sketch at Sunday Stamps:

as well as a lovely inspiration photo at Inkspirational:

I was inspired by the neutral colors and the greenery on the packages and tree!  And here we go, using some papers from Photoplay and an older Unity stamp:

The image was stamped in Close to Cocoa ink and matted with some Kraft paper; I added some Linen Thread and Gilded Gems for embellishment:

The inside sentiment is from For Unto Us:

Thanks for popping in today---enjoy it and be blessed!

PP571 Merry Color Challenge

Hi there peeps!  It's time for the LAST Paper Players challenge of the year!  We all need a wee bit of a break around this time, don't we?  I am the hostess for this challenge and I still have Christmas-card-making on my brain, so here's the palette I chose for our color challenge:

I am also playing with Freshly Made Sketches this week:

because I've had this Stitched Evergreen Cutouts die for a long time and I think I've only used it once!  So here we go:

I started with a Very Vanilla card base and added a mat embossed with the Timeworn Type embossing folder.  Then I diecut my Merry Merlot panel and added some gold glimmer paper behind the trees.  It looked a little plain, so I ran it through a Softly Falling embossing folder.  It STILL looked too plain, so I did some faux stitching at the top and bottom of the panel, then added another strip of gold glimmer paper....better!  My bottom panel was a piece of Shaded Spruce DSP.  For my sentiment, I diecut a "merry" from a SSS die, and finally, I added some diecut stars and I was happy!

I've pretty much sent out all my cards, but it's always nice to get a head-start on next year's!!!

What will you do with these colors?  I hope you can find some time in your busy schedules to pop in and create something! Check out what the Design Team did over at the Paper Players, then share yours with us too!  And we'll see you again in 2022!

Two of the best Christmas gifts I could get this year is knowing this guy, my nephew Will, graduated from a grueling Army Ranger Training:

AND I just found his cousin, my niece, and her husband are going to have a baby in June!  Woohoo!  It's hard to imagine that I watched these kids as babies and now they're all grown up!  Thanks for popping in today, enjoy it and be blessed!

AYSI265 Quick Snowflake

Happy Friday, peeps!  It's Speed Stamping time at As You See It!  Yep, we want to see what you can stamp in 10 minutes or less!  Here's our prompt:

I just barely made it...my timer stopped at 8 minutes and 55 seconds!  Here we go:

I found this piece of glittery snowflake paper in my stash and I added a piece of Basic White cardstock embossed with the die from Stitched Snowflakes along the edge.  Although it's hard to tell, the snowflake (same die set) is cut from some Dazzling Diamonds glimmer paper, and embellished with a enamel dot:

A Merry Merlot card base and stitched circle provided a pretty contrast, and I added a diecut sentiment from last year's Wrapped In Christmas; it went on the inside too:

I am going to enter this in the Make The Cards challenge for this week as well, their theme is "winter"!

We can't wait to see what you create!  Remember, less than ten minutes, and tell us how long it to you to create it, then share it with us at As You See It!  Have fun! And thanks for popping in today!  Enjoy it and be blessed!

IB199C Tweet Winter

Hi peeps!  It's time for a new Inspired By challenge...look at these warm winter photos:

And here's our optional sketch:

And here we go!  I used the sketch and the bird as my inspiration, using some SU Tidings of Christmas DSP, and a little Close to My Heart black-capped chickadee::

I perched him on some Soft Succulent greenery from the same set and added some Crumb Cake "sparkles" and gold metallic pearls along with a little bow of Linen Thread:

The sentiment is from the same set, stamped in Evening Evergreen, and the panel behind the chickadee is from Ornate Layers dies. I forgot to photograph the inside, but I added a birthday sentiment, as I am sending this to a friend for her birthday!  And I am embarrassed to admit this, but I have had this set for probably a year and this is the first time inking it up, so I am entering it into the Little Red Wagon's Never Before Used Stuff challenge!

I hope you'll play along with our challenge this week....as you can see, your creation doesn't have to be a Christmas one!  Share it with us at Inspired By, we can't wait to see it! Thanks for popping by today!

So the tree is all decorated; Cassidy is almost too big for Wayne to pick up any more, LOL!

Enjoy your day and be blessed!
