JUGS366 and IM272 Happy Halloween

Happy Monday, everyone!  It's a week until Halloween!  Have you sent out any cards?  I made a big dent in my (hoarded) stash, but it's always fun to use my Halloween stamps, so I decided to make another one  The Just Us Girls photo challenge was too cute to pass up, and the In(k)spire Me sketch worked with the stamp I had in mind!

So here we go--it's pretty clean and simple!  I started with a Basic Gray card base and added some Frightful DSP from My Mind's Eye:

I got this little cat on a pumpkin a few years back from 100 Proof Press!  He just cracks me up!  I have had the cats border as well as the "Halloween" for a while, too....I believe they are from Graphic 45.  The "Happy" and the flourish are both from an older Crafty Secrets set.  I stamped them all in Basic Black ink and colored in the pumpkin with Tangerine Tango ink, then added some sequins...easy peasy!  I did do the sketch in the landscape mode, as the elements fit better that way!

 

The inside was stamped with an older Lizzie Kate sentiment, which I love too!

Paper Players 318 Scotty It's Your Day

Happy Sunday, peeps!  Have you been blown away by the windy weather yet?  Fall has definitely fallen in the northeastern part of the country!  Yesterday was a good day to stay inside and stamp!  Jaydee is our Paper Players hostess this week with an awesome sketch for us:

My niece Kelly, who is just the sweetest young woman, has a birthday tomorrow !  She also just got a wee little Scotty!  His name is Winston!  So of course, I had to use the Scotty dog stamp I recently purchased in Scotland for her card:

I used some Lawn Fawn plaids; stamped little Winston in Stazon black and added some gray shading. The sentiment is from a past Paper Pumpkin kit and the sequins are from my stash!  Here's the inside as well:

Happy Saturday, peeps!  I have a very quick, uber-simple card today using the colors from the Color Throwdown challenge:

I love these colors so much, I may just do another card with them using Very Vanilla as my background!  Anyway, I opted for Whisper White, Riding Hood Red, Sahara Sand, Early Espresso and Baja Breeze for this one:

I used a die from Papertrey and a Mini Tag Sentiment from Our Daily Bread Designs!  

Here is a quick photo from our Halloween stamping; note the peeved expression on her face!

She just cannot WAIT to put the candy in the little test tubes!  Should be interesting!  Enjoy your day!

FMS259 Jar of Love Thanks

Happy Friday, peeps!  Hope you have a great weekend planned!  I am trying to get some things done for an upcoming craft show, so the housework will have to wait, LOL!  

I love the sketch that Linda created for the Freshly Made Sketches challenge this week:

I used some paper from the A Little Foxy 6x6 pad and pulled out Jar of Love for the focal point.  I have to tell you, if you've not used SU's thick cardstock, you need to try it!  Stamping on it is a dream, but when you die-cut the pieces, they are nice and sturdy and almost feel like chipboard!  It makes such a difference!  

I stamped the flowers in Crushed Curry and Delightful Dijon inks:

 The jar, "thanks" and stems are Smoky Slate, and I stamped the water very lightly with Soft Sky:

 

I added some thick baker's twine and silver sequins to finish it off!  And it's in the mail to a new customer!

Cassidy did not want me to take her picture while we were making her Halloween favors for school (that Paper Pumpkin kit is perfect!) but she did let me take a picture of her cute shirt which featured pastel parrots, before she burst into a fit of giggles!  Maybe when we finish the favors I can sneak in a picture!!

PCC215 and SIP70 Fall Subway Art

Happy Thursday, peeps!  Wow, the week is zipping by!  I have a card for two challenges today!  The Paper Craft Crew Challenge is "Fall"; and the Stamp Ink Paper challenge is a tac-tac-toe!

The left column of leaves, sparkle and orange piqued my interest; I had something in mind but it wasn't coming together.  My final card is not really what I had pictured, but it's going to have to do!  I used a subway art panel from Close to My Heart and stamped it in Pumpkin Pie ink on Papertrey's Linen paper and matted it on Chocolate Chip:

 I stamped the Hardwood background in white craft ink on my Pumpkin Pie card base and then used some pastel chalks to darken the wood.  SU's new Pumpkin Pie glimmer paper was the basis for my Lawn Fawn stitched leaves; I also overstamped the subway art with the Linen background stamp in Crumb Cake:

On the inside, I stamped a sentiment from a retired SU set called Harvest Home, and added an extra glimmer leaf!

My exciting news this week is that on Tuesday, I got to meet a long-time blogging friend, Linda Lapotka!  She grew up in my area, but now calls Wisconsin home.  She came back east to go to her niece's wedding and I met her and her sister at Longwood Gardens!   It was a gorgeous day, very warm, and we had a wonderful time!  I felt like I have known her all my life!  Here we are, early on the misty morning, ready to go inside the gardens:

GDP058 Simple Joys

Hi everyone!  Wednesday--the middle of the week!  It's a quick slide to the weekend, yippee!  I got in some late, late stamping time and used the really nice sketch from the Global Design Project for my card today:

I told myself I was NOT going to get any more Christmas DSP but that Presents & Pinecones paper just sort of jumped into my cart last time I placed an order, LOL!  I think it is so cute with this layout and a sentiment from Christmas Pines:

The sentiment was stamped right on to the DSP in Cool Cucumber ink and I diecut some bells (Impression Obsession DIE220-Q) from the same DSP and some Delightful Dijon cardstock.  I added a little shading and topped them off with some red glitter baker's twine from the Holiday catalog!  Sweet!

And here's the inside; I just love that SU gives us little extra elements like the arrow that I stamped beneath the words...just a nice extra touch!  

Cassidy rediscovered some of that weird silicone sand she got a while back....it has a strange feeling to it but it IS fun to play with.  She took some time during the nice weather to make a pie:

Looks pretty yummy to me!  Maybe I'll teach her to make pumpkin pies for Thanksgiving!

MTS146 and MM218 Mad for Plaid

Happy Tuesday, peeps!  I had a relaxing day yesterday, rested up and got a wee bit of stamping in!  I made another Christmas card using the Match the Sketch sketch and the "Plaid" prompt from Merry Monday:

Carta Bella's Christmas Delivery 6x6 pad has great plaids, so I pulled out three coordinating ones and went to work with the little snowman from Snow Place:

I embossed the card front with a Darice snowflake EF and added a sentiment from Oh What Fun.  Isn't he a cutie?

I promised some pictures from our church's Operation Christmas Child Shoebox event; here, Cassidy is helping package up some toothpaste and toothbrushes:

And now she's ready to fill one of the shoeboxes; we have a Dansko outlet near our home and they very generously donated 36 empty shoeboxes!!

All done and almost ready to go!

Daddy very patiently helped her write a little note to tuck inside so the recipient knows from where and whom it came!  All together, we filled 75 boxes!
