Happy Monday, peeps! This is a quick post as it's time for Christmas Card Stamp Camp tonight! Woohoo! The Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge sketch this week is a pretty one, but I really took the cheater's way out and used some delightful papers to their best advantage! Here's the sketch:

Isn't this paper gorgeous? It's from Not 2 Shabby, and all I did was cut a panel, leaving some of the flowers uncut on the sides, then fussy-cutting them out. And do you see it? WILD WHEAT! Any of my club girls know that In Color is NOT on my favorite list, but it worked so well here, matching those leaves, I had to break down and use it! The sentiment is from Happiest Day, also stamped in Wild Wheat and it was diecut with a Nellie Snellen die with a matching mat in Riding Hood Red:
I added a little strip of the same paper on the inside and another Happiest Day sentiment:

What a lovely card and the wheat cardstock blends perfectly with that pretty floral dsp! Great vacation pics of the kids too, and look Ma! No braces! Wasn't she just 10 a month ago??? How time flies!
I must agree I HATE Wild Wheat. I have made one card with some of the paper that came in a
kit and that will be it. I showed my husband & he said "ick". You made excellent use of it & it does
complement the leaves on that gorgeous paper. Thanks for giving me a chuckle! Beth
Beautiful card. I converted my inks to cubes and I refused to even buy an ink refill for Wild Wheat because I dislike it so much. Looks terrific in this case!
LeAnne, I hope this wheat is growing on you - I love it! and really see it as a 'warmer' crumb cake.
You found the perfect time to use it - and yes, that paper is GORGEOUS!! as is your card!

Not a fan of Wild Wheat either, but the beautiful Rustic Blooms flower dsp is complimented by the wild wheat card stock. Maybe there is hope for me to find a pretty paper too and pair it with Wild Wheat too! Thanks for the inspiration.
That paper IS gorgeous, LeAnne! What a gorgeous card! I remember feeling the same way about Soft Suede ink but it grew on my and I've used it a lot. The Wheat ink worked perfectly with this paper.

Beautiful card! I've come to like Wild Wheat. Touches of it here and there is a great way to use it...as you did with your card!
I really don't like Wild Wheat; however, I have to admit, the thin border of Wild Wheat on your card really adds a touch of elegance to the DSP.
The DSP is stunning...very dimensional blooms. I love your idea to leave a couple of the flowers hanging over the edge. I never of thought of doing this. Very cool!!
