Hi stampers! It's Sunday and Claire is our Paper Players hostess with this fun challenge:
Aren't those critters cute? That snowy owl reminded me that I had gotten some book plates at a yard sale a long time ago:
Isn't that a great graphic? I thought they would make great Halloween cards, but obviously I didn't want to have that blank portion on my card, so this is the way I "fixed" it:
I started with a Very Vanilla cardbase and added an Old Olive mat that was stamped with some spooky eyes and embossed with a Subtle embossing folder. I added a sentiment in Soft Suede, sponged with Sahara Sand, to cover up the blank for the name:
I added some gold glimmer stars and a spooky moon punched with a circle punch:
And a final star on the inside:
This was actually my second card; here's the first card I made, on a Soft Suede base embossed with the Woodland EF and stamped sentiment in Early Espresso:

LeAnne, this is FABULOUS!!!!!!!!! So creative and fun! I love the OO stamped with the spooky eyes and owl book plate is awesome. Great way to recycle, too! How creative! I haven't seen book plates in ages. I might have some in my cupboard with all my Bible studies over the past 40 years. Guess it's time to clean out some paper work so I can find them. Congrats on being a Top Cup at Sunday Stamps.

That magnificent owl is amazing LeAnne, and how brilliant to repurpose her for a card! Both card versions are wonderful but I really like the one with the green base and ink sponged sentiment, plus the sparkly moon and star!
What a great idea to use the bookplate for a card. The graphic is pretty cool and I love the way you altered it to cover up the book plate part. Great sentiment and the moon/stars are a fun edition.
Wow! Wow! Wow! What a great re-purposing of the book plate stamp! Such a great image for spooky, Halloween cards. The glitter moon and stars are perfect accents.
Whooo loves this card? I do, I do! What a cool find at the yard sale. I remember having really fun book plates when I was younger and I was always so excited to add my name when I got a new book. I just love how you turned these into cards. The little pop of sparkle is the perfect touch.
