PP504 CAS Back to School

Happy Sunday peeps!  Welcome to another Paper Players challenge with teacher Claire as our hostess:

Well, "back to school" means a lot of different things this year, doesn't it?  Thankfully, Cassidy's school has decided to offer real-time school and she will start in a couple of weeks, so I thought I'd make a card for her!  Remember, it's a Clean and Simple week, too!  So here we go:

I used the FMS sketch for this week:

and I pulled out last year's Check You Out for my images.  The Bubbles and Fizz DSP was the inspiration for my colors...I stamped the worm in Granny Apple Green, gave him a Poppy Parade tie, and he is sitting on books of Bermuda Bay, Daffodil Delight and Poppy Parade:

I stamped the greeting in Smoky Slate, and to personalize it a wee bit, I added her name on the bottom book!  On the inside, I stamped the owl and heart and left space so I can write an encouraging note!  She loves gray, so the card base is Basic Gray!

I hope you'll find time to play along with our challenge this week!  Even if you don't have family members returning to school, there are lots of ways you can incorporate elements of back-to-school into your clean and simple creation!  Be sure to check out what the DT created as well, over at the Paper Players blog!  Thanks for popping in today!

I had to give kudos for my nephew's church; they decided to hold a small VBS last week with a construction theme.  (Normally Cass attends as well, but it was only open to members.)  Jameson and Sawyer were IN THEIR ELEMENT!  Daddy is a contractor and they know all about tools, machinery, and equipment and how they work!  Check out these smiles:

Jameson will be starting kindergarten this year as well...maybe I should get busy and send him a card too!  Enjoy your day and be blessed!

I love the cheery bright colours of your card LeAnne - that bookworm is a favourite of mine! Love the personalisation too - such a nice touch. Hope Cassidy is looking forward to a return to ‘real’ school, I know my two are. As for your nephews- they truly look like they mean business- what a handsome pair!

This is just as cute as it gets! I love that it is personalized. My sons are heading back to college, but I'm not sure I give it more than a few weeks. That many "kids" in the same place, I'm sure the virus will spread. Hopefully Cassidy's school is successful!

Goodness, this is just spectacular, Leanne! I would have never thought to use striped paper for the vertical element, but boy, it sure works great! And your little stack of books and the worm- adorable! Thanks so much for joining us this week at Freshly Made Sketches.

I'm so happy for Cassidy that she's going back to REAL SCHOOL! These kids need to be with other kids. We all need to LIVE OUR LIVES!

You've inspired me to send cards to my niece and nephew who are starting school soon. My Grandmother used to send us cards at the beginning of each school year, along with a prayer for a great year. Soooo sweet!!

This is such a happy card, LeAnne! I love the bright colors and that adorable bookworm is so stinking cute. I almost used this stamp set, too but literally just loaned it to a friend last week. The personalized book is the perfect touch, too. So fun! Jameson and Sawyer sure look like they were having a blast at VBS. Those little hard hats are are precious!
