Happy Thursday, peeps! Inspired By has some fun announcements--new designers and added sketches! Woohoo! You can find out all about it at the Inspired By blog---be sure to check it out, and give Amy and Donna a big hello! And on to today's challenge--check out this little bunny! Isn't he cute?
I saw a sample out in blogland of a teeny tiny Easter basket using one of the Sweetly Stitched dies, but it had no watermark on it, so I don't know who originally came up with the idea...if anyone knows, let me know so I can give her credit! But I thought it would be adorable for today's challenge, so here we go:
As I said, this is very "wee" for sure...it measures 2 1/4" across and 1 3/4" high, without the handle...just big enough for a few jelly beans or a couple pieces of chocolate! I pulled out the retired Basket Bunch stamp set....a set in my opinion, should have continued into the main catalog, because it is chock-full of fun springtime images and it just wasn't around long enough! Anyway, I took that little chocolate bunny image and stamped it twice; once the normal way, and again in reverse, stamping it on a silicone mat and transferring the image to some Thick White cardstock. I did have to go over the outline a bit with my Early Espresso marker, but it turned out pretty good! There is a die to go with it, but I chose to fussy-cut it since I had two images, and they were small! I added an Easter sentiment on a little banner from the Smooth Sailing Dies, and some grass from the Basket Builder Framelit dies:
Here's the opposite side, using the eggs and dies from same bundle:
I added a couple of larger eggs on the side, as well as a stitched handle with a Soft Seafoam strip:
I used Thick White cardstock for the basket construction as it is quite sturdy for something this size.
For the basket itself, here are the measurements I used (the original may be different, but these are the ones I came up with):
- Thick Whisper White cardstock, cut to 3 1/8" x 3 1/2"
- On the 3 1/8" side, score at 3/4" from each side
- On the 3 1/2" side, score at 1 3/8" from each side
- Fold and burnish on all the score lines, then snip the little sides up to the score line and fold and adhere to make the box shape.
- Cut a strip of Thick Whisper White cardstock 1/2" wide and however long you want your handle to be and adhere inside, or outside, if you desire!
I used the largest Sweetly Stitched shaped die (not the scalloped rectangle) and cut it in half, then glued it to the front and back of the box. Then you can decorate it whatever way you want. Here is the adorable sample that I used as my inspiration:
Again, if anyone knows the designer, let me know so I can give her credit!
I am also entering this in the Inspire. Create Easter challenge as well!
I hope this cute little image will inspire you to create something cute for us to look at! Can't wait to see it! And don't forget to check out the IB blog to see all the new details!!! Thanks for popping in today!
I spent Tuesday making fabric masks; I have two nieces who are nurses in senior care, so they both said they would take them! I had a dear friend send me some elastic as it is in short supply, apparently. I had plenty of fabric and wire, just no elastic. So I could only make eight, but hopefully they will be able to use them. I used this video for my version (has a pocket for a HEPA filter). My friend used this version for her masks....no pocket and there is a version with ties, which I might try next! Our state is thinking about requiring everyone to wear a mask of some sort when they go out in public. Definitely not a fashion statement but if everyone else is wearing one, it makes it fashionable, right?! Needs be, I guess!
Enjoy your day and be blessed!

Your baskets are adorable! Those bunnies are so cute.
I think it's awesome that you made the masks!
LeAnne, so excited to be on the team with you.
DARLING wee basket, LeAnne! Just as cute as can be … I'd bet a few of my Cadbury eggs would it in there!
Look at your masks, which certainly make a cuter statement than the paper ones do! Where does one find the HEPA filter for them?
