Happy Sunday, peeps! Hope your weekend is going well! I am the hostess at the Paper Players this week and I have a sketch for you:
I am slowly but surely breaking into some of the new colors that will be available in the upcoming catalog! My card today highlights the new In Color, Blueberry Bushel...a nice bright blue that works great for boys' cards, which is exactly what I created with it:
Doesn't that little Bella look sweet? I think he's offering someone his dog bone as a birthday gift! I stamped him in Memento Black ink and colored him with Light & Dark Crumb Cake Blends, then added some color with a blender pen and some ink for his collar and heart. The grass was drawn in with Light & Dark Old Olive Blends:
The sentiment is from the new set Itty Bitty Greetings, stamped in Blueberry Bushel and diecut with the retired Bitty Banners die. I didn't have any Real Red Candy Dots left in my stash, but I did have some Melon Mambo ones, so I took my Dark Cherry Cobbler Blend and "adjusted" the color a little bit...such a great way to customize your embellishments! The DSP is from the new In Color pack in Blueberry Bushel as well!
And on the inside, a sentiment from Better Together! And it wasn't intentional, but aren't these great colors for a Memorial Day weekend card, LOL!
I hope you'll play along with my sketch this week and be sure to check out what the DT created at the Paper Players blog as well!
John marched in his twentieth West Grove Memorial Day parade yesterday!!:
He also participated in the 21-gun salute (although that might not be the technical, military term for it, that's what I call it!):
Here he is, all dressed and ready to go before the parade:
And I sat on the curb next to this little cutie as I waited for the parade to begin:
She might not be as cute as Bella, but she got an A+ for patriotic friendliness!! She wanted to give me lots of kisses, LOL! Enjoy your day and be blessed!

I just love this bright blue and red colour combo LeAnne and both of those puppies are super cute! This is a perfect birthday card that any little boy (or girl) would love. John looks super smart for the Memorial Day celebrations - a truly handsome man in uniform! My mother-in-law is in the Staes currently on vacation with friends so is looking forward to joining in the celebrations too. We have a holiday weekend here so I am looking forward to enjoying some outdoor time. Might even have another go at your sketch - I feel like I totally lost my mojo on this one! Enjoy your weekend xx
This card is so cute. Love the Bella dog. John is as handsome as ever and I love your posts every Memorial Day. So sharp in that uniform that still fits after all these years! Thank you for your service, John.
LOVE your card. It's so bright, cheery and cute. If I could have a dog, it would look just like your Bella...fantastic blending. I was hoping to see a pic of John in his uniform. Bet you fall in love with him all over again when you see him marching. Memorial Day was always one of favorites with the fire company and band. The little patriotic dog is a cutie too. Be blessed because you are a blessing. Oh, and I can't wait to work on your sketch today :-)
Great sketch and adorable card with that cute pup.
Thanks for sharing the photos.
Have a wonderful holiday weekend.
This card is every bit of adorable, LeAnne!! Great colors and definitely a great stamp choice for your challenge! Love the Blueberry Bushel color! Actually I love all the new incoming colors! Your hubby looked very handsome in his uniform for the parade. Hope you had good weather for it but it sure got hot! What a cute patriotic doggy you got to sit with yesterday! That made me smile! TFS and stay cool!
John looks very handsome!
Please pass along my thanks to him for his service to our great country.
Looks like you had a nice day for your parade, too!
Cute, cute patriotic card! Love the sweet puppy bringing the birthday greeting. Your coloring is spot on, as usual! Love the pictures of the parade too! TFS!
This is great! Which came first - the card or the sketch? It's such a perfect fit for the sketch. I do like the new papers and I've not used Blueberry Bushel yet - but it's a great colour. Loved your sketch, LeAnne. Thanks for a great challenge.
What a fun parade, I love the photo's! That new blue is awesome...I have some new in colors coming, can't wait to see them in person. Your pooch is adorable!

Wow that Blueberry Bushel is a wonderful color! I need to crack mine open! Adorable card! And don’t be stamping around John in his dress whites! He always looks great in that uniform!
This is a great sketch LeAnne! I love what you did with it, too. Your cute little puppy is as sweet as can be, and the red and blue were the perfect choice. John is looking pretty spiffy in his dress whites!
If some one wants expert view on the topic of blogging after that i recommend him/her to pay a visit this website, Keep up the good job.
I love the sketch LeAnn and your card is gorgeous, love that it was accidentally Memorial Day Colours. Loved the pics of your Hubby in his Dress Whites (I think as much as your card!). Cx
Oh my, BLueberry Bushel is a fantastic color and you've used it to great effect here! I love the small pops of red and how clever to color your pink dots red! Always a treat to see your hubby looking smart in his uniform. Such a great sketch this week, my friend!
Your sketch was so much fun to work with. Love everything about your card! That Blueberry Bushel is wonderful and it would make great 4th of July cards too. And, of course, any puppy makes me smile! Please thank your handsome hubby for his service. My Dad was a proud Navy man during WWII and this was the first Memorial weekend without him. It was hard but rewarding to honor those that served during our little town's parade. Hugs, Annie
First of all, thank you to John for his service! He certainly looks handsome in uniform! This is a fantastic sketch. I will use it often! I love this Blueberry Bushel and Real Red combo! Polka dots and stripes together always makes me smile! What an adorable puppy, too! Have a wonderful weekend, My Friend! XX
LeAnne... your card is precious beyond words! The colors are so perfect! Love your holiday pictures...
