MM245 and CASCS220 Kraft Christmas Cabin

Hi everyone!  Hope you're having a great week!  I am suffering with allergies....I am sure there are many of you who can sympathize, sniff sniff!  But stamping usually takes my mind off of them!  Today I have a CAS Christmas card using the Merry Monday Kraft challenge as well as the CAS Colours and Sketches sketch:

SU has some lovely Kraft cardstock that I believe is going to retire, sadly.  It is a little lighter than regular cardstock, but each side features a slightly different shade of Kraft!  After embossing mine, I mounted it on a piece of thick white cardstock to give it a sturdy base.  Here we go:

I heat-embossed a wee little wintry cabin from Altenew with white craft ink and white embossing powder on a piece of the Kraft, then mounted it on a piece of Whisper White.  I added some white shading with my aquapainter and a few snowflakes with a white gel pen:

The top border was punched with an older Martha Stewart snowflake punch, and the inside sentiment is from Papertrey:

I added some simple sequins and pearls, then finished it off with a bit of thick baker's twine at the top!  So glad you could pop in today!

Living out in the country, we get critters ALL the time on our property.  We have a bell at the end of our driveway that lets us know when someone is driving in....I'll bet it went off four times in the middle of the night because of the deer meandering around our yard!  Anyway, John noticed some boards dislodged under our utility shed, so he set out the Have-a-Heart trap and within a day, we got a ground hog!  Cassidy was intrigued, but not enough to get too close (don't mind the dingy in the background, LOL!):

Mr Groundhog was not happy to be caged up, so John took him somewhere far, far away to start a new life!

The joys of living in the country!  Enjoy your day and be blessed!

Kraft and white is such a striking combination! I hate that Kraft is leaving us. This cabin stamp is so cute and perfect with the Softly Falling EF. The snowflake border at the top is awesome. Wonderful Christmas card...only 8 months away! I'm with Cassidy, I'd keep my distance too!

Your card looks good enough to eat! It is screaming gingerbread. Cassidy's shirt is screaming SU's tie dye stamp set! We had a groundhog that dug a hole under our in-ground pool concrete deck when we lived in NY. What a mess! Have a Heart traps are wonderful...but when you catch a skunk in one...oooh wee! That one dug a hole under our shed. We had a professional take that one away!!

How lovely, the white embossed winter scene looks fantastic on kraft, and embossed background is perfect for it!

Usually I'm a red and green girl but I love this card! Groundhogs are the worst! We had 2 get into our veggie garden last year and they ate every single thing we grew! We managed to get rid of them but 2 more moved in the following year and did the same thing so we gave up the garden. A friend did all her planting in big pots on her deck thinking she had outsmarted them.......the groundhogs just climbed the deck and feasted.

Fabulous mix of kraft and white and I think the snowflake punched and scalloped border is so clever. Thanks for playing at CC&S.

I love your snowy cabin, LeAnne! It's so pretty on the kraft cardstock! I hope your groundhog stays far away. We have caught and relocated squirrels but we have just as many as before. I'm not sure if they're new ones or the same ones with a homing instinct, LOL.

LeAnne, your card is perfect! I love what you have done with the Kraft Paper and using the white embossing for your stamp set was the right thing to do. I also like d the strip of white across the top. Beautifull!

This is ever so pretty LeAnne. I like the white and kraft together! My in-laws always had trouble with groundhogs getting under their garage. Glad you were able to catch and release this one!!
