Happy Tuesday, peeps! It's time for another Try Stampin' On Tuesday sketch and I was very excited to see this one:
First, let me show you my card, then I'll show you why I was excited, LOL!:
My SIL recently gave me a home decor catalog called Through the Country Door, and this wall art really intrigued me! I couldn't wait to translate it into a card:
So when I saw the sketch, I knew just what I would do! I stamped the Hardwood background stamp on three pieces of cardstock: Sahara Sand, Crumb Cake and Tip Top Taupe in Sahara Sand ink. I cut the "boards" apart and sponged the edges. I created a little frame by cutting some of the boards at an angle and placing them on the outer edges of my card, then I adhered the remaining boards to another scrap of cardstock, just so I could arrange them pleasingly, then trimmed them down and put them on the front of my card with dimensionals. I cut out a bunch of leaves with a MFT leaf die and arranged them on either side, then added a sentiment from a Paper Pumpkin set:
Even though this was a wee bit labor-intensive, I loved the final effect! And come back tomorrow, when I'll show you what I did with the left-over pieces!
I hope that this sketch inspires you to play along with us! You can see all the DT's samples on the TSOT blog, and share yours as well, or hop over to their Facebook page! Can't wait to see you there!
Not sure I am quite ready for these gymnastics, but I do remember doing the same thing on the farm when I was a kid....we even did skin-the-cats on the stanchions between the cows, LOL!
Enjoy your day!

Wowza! This is gorgeous! Love the wood background you created and the white leaves are fabulous!
OH LeAnne!!! YOU have perfectly re-created this piece! Cutting those boards the way you have [and sponging which I have nearly never done before - why?] has made them look so REAL! OUtstanding card!!
=]
I really love your card! GREAT interpretation!
OMG that card is just beautiful! Have added that to my CASE file for sure! John put a rope swing up in the back yard for the kids and I think I have those same butterflies watching them on it. I know I did that (and probably much worse) when I was a kid, but ..... ~chris
Oh, I love this!
Awesome card LeAnne! Very creative and you've certainly used the inspiration photo perfectly.
AWESOME!!! You captured the art piece perfectly LeAnne, love this!! Oh boy, look what kind of little girl antics I have ahead of me LOL!!
This is awesome LeAnne! Love how you did this wood grain and would love that piece in the catalog! Cassidy brings back fond memories of hanging upside down when I was a kid.
Wow, what a gorgeous card. You really mastered the recreation of the wall art piece. Cutting the boards apart definitely would have been a lot of work, but the final effect is beautiful. I also love those branches and leaves.
Wow, you are a great carpenter! I like this card also. I'm behind reading my emails. Wish you a safe and happy Memorial Day. Will John be in the parade this year. I don't think Dad will he is 96.
