I had gotten a box of Christmas chipboard pieces a couple of years back, all in a vintage style, and I had been hankering to dig into them. This sketch was perfect, and it also gave me the chance to use some pretty Christmas papers I’ve been hoarding too! In fact, the paper does almost all the work on this card, which is fairly large, almost 5x7”:
The only stamping done is the “Rejoice” in the bottom panel. I did add some pleated Riding Hood Red ribbon, and I took out the stitching on a smaller piece to make my matching bow. I added a scalloped half-panel of Brushed Gold to bring out the gold on the reindeer’s banner:
He is so pretty! I hope you can play with us; check out the other designers’ samples at Always Playing with Paper! Rose Miller and Colleen Dietrich are joining us this month as guest designers!
Well, it had to happen. Check out these photos of Cassidy with Mommy; she has learned that owls say “whooooo”, and I was showing her my little owl that my sweet friend Shirley at A La Card Monkey made for me:
She checks out the fun eyes:
And gives him a hug:But can you see a little blue stain on her thumb?
That’s from a Tea Stain Spot…..and she also had it in her mouth…her teeth & lips were also blue!!! Oh my!

Frenchie,
Wow that is a beautiful card. I love the paper and the deer. You are right about how the paper does the work. I love that when that happens.
Ok why is the Tea Stain Spot blue? I always think tea is brown. I can see it on her face. So cute. You don't have to scrapbook or write in a Journal. Your blog is a wonderful journal of Cassidy. Such a sweet little girl and so lucky to have you as a grandmother.
Cute Christmas card, and I love that chipboard piece. I'd take a blue thumb over a green thumb any day :) I can't grow anything well, but I can sure get my fingers inky! Cute pics :)
The chipboard reindeer is awesome! Love the colours this week LeAnne, have a great day!
Hugs!
Lesley
