FMS540 Wishing You the Best

Happy Monday, stampers!  Hope all is well in your little corner of the world!  I am squeaking in this card for the FMS challenge:

I just received the beautiful SAB Rings of Love DSP.....such pretty watercolor images, I just had to play with some!  So here we go:

I diecut two pieces from the same sheet, front & back, then matted them with Night of Navy.  The sentiment from Friends are Like Seashells was heat embossed on Crushed Curry and hand-cut. I did diecut some Soft Seafoam greenery with the wreath die from Natural Prints to tuck behind:

and I added a strip of that pretty paper on the inside as well:

Thanks for visiting today!  Enjoy it and be blessed!

Cassidy got a little baking kit and one of the recipes was blueberry muffins.  I had all the ingredients on hand, so she made a dozen!

Stay tuned for the finished product!

"Cursed is the one who trusts in man, who depends on flesh for his strength and whose heart turns away from the Lord.  He will be like a bush in the wastelands; he will not see prosperity when it comes.  He will dwell in the parched places of the desert, in a salt land where no one lives." PP596 Wishing You Everything Wonderful

Happy Sunday, everyone!  Hope you're having a good weekend so far!  It's Father's Day here in the US and Jaydee's Paper Players challenge was perfect for it:

Remember, Clean-and-Simple week means minimum stamping and this week, Jaydee wants only ONE layer!!! Sometimes that IS a challenge for us layer-loving stampers!  I decided to use one of the new SAB sets that will be coming out in July called Stylish Sketches.  It seemed a good fit for my one-layer card!  Here we go:

I started with a color combination from Just Add Ink:

I decided to use Thick Very Vanilla cardstock so that it would accept my watercoloring wtihout a lot of warping.  I stamped Mr Fox in Basic Gray ink using my Stamparatus, then without moving the stamp, I cleaned it and reinked it with Versamark so I could heat emboss it with clear embossing powder.  I then watercolored it with Pumpkin Pie and Crushed Curry inks:

I stamped a sentiment from Charming Sentiments in Basic Gray and added a Watercolor Shapes rectangle in Crushed Curry on the "wonderful"....that's a great way to make the sentiment stand out without adding layers!

Finally, I stamped a Father's Day sentiment on the inside, trimmed two corners with a corner round punch for interest, and it's all ready to go!  And since it is clean-and-simple week at Krafty Chicks, I am entering this there as well!

I hope you'll be able to create a clean-and-simple card with us this week....remember, only ONE layer and keep your stamping to a minimum!  Can't wait to see what you create; share it with us at the Paper Players! And while you're there, check out what the DT created, and give them a little love!  We all love to receive comments!  Thanks for visiting today!

InkSpire Me Going to the Beach

Happy Saturday, peeps!  I have a fun card today or a few challenges!  First, I'll show you the card:

And here are the challenges:  In(k)Spire Me has a sketch and colors:

and Time Out Challenges has a tropical theme:

I pulled out a fun SU kit called A Little Smile; it had some tiny note cards that already had sand and surf on them!  I cut one down to a 2" square, stamped a starfish from the same kit and added a sparkly sand dollar, also from the kit:

The sentiment is from the same kit; the horizontal piece is a punch-out from the He's The Man DSP; I cut it in half, sponged the edges and layered them together, then added some Linen Thread.  My square scalloped mat is Bermuda Bay, and I added a few sequins from my stash for sparkle.  It all went on a Pool Party card that was embossed with the Seashells embossing folder.  I left the inside unstamped so I can use it for whatever occasion that might come up!  I really like how this turned out!  Thanks for popping in today!

AYSI277 Belated Speed Stamping

Yay, happy Friday, peeps!  Time for a new As You See It challenge...the exciting SPEED stamping challenge!  I almost missed that part, hah!

Luckily, I had already chosen a fairly simple design since my stamping time this summer is bit more limited!  I couldn't find many belated birthday stamps in my vast stash, but I did find this funny one in Birthday Wit, and I had a scrap of this cute woodland critters DSP hanging out on my desk, so here we go:

I stamped the sentiment and the bear from Thankful Forest Friends both on Very Vanilla cardstock in Early Espresso ink, then quickly fussy cut them out.  When I layered them on the card front, it looked a little sparse, so I cut out some wood circles from the opposite side of the DSP and quickly tucked them around the sentiment.  I barely made it at 9 minutes and 46 seconds!

I do think this bear is rather cute, though, even if his ears and paws are a challenge to cut around!

Hope you'll play along with our SPEED STAMPING challenge this week....remember, gather your supplies, get your design planned out in your head and GO!  See what you can create in ten minutes! You'll be surprised at what you can create!  Then share it with us at As You See It!

Cassidy has been battling a terrible summer cold, poor thing! She felt well enough to throw the frisbee around with Grampy one afternoon:

Enjoy your day and be blessed!

TTTC166 Masculine Give it a Whirl

Happy Thursday, everyone! Time for Team X to share their Tic Tac Toe challenge!  Here's our grid for this week:

I went with the top row across of Masculine, Die Cut and Brads!  I am still working with my Give it a Whirl dies, and pulled out some elements from the He's The Man suite!  So here we go:

I stamped some of the sentiments from He's All That, along with one from Charmed Sentiments, on the wheel to show through the window:

And then added some of the punch outs from the He's the Man DSP, along with some stars and a brad to fasten the mechanism.  It all went on a Basic Black mat which went on a Mango Melody card base.  Another sentiment from Charmed Sentiments went on th einside:

I will probably save this for John's birthday in November!!  Or maybe I'll make a different one and give it to him for Father's Day!  I hope you'll find some inspiration from our grid this week too!  Share it with us at the Tic Tac Toe blog! See you there!

Dana and Wayne have been getting their pool ready for the summer and of course, a few critters made it into the skimmer!  Anyone know what kind of toad or frog this is?  I can't seem to find him listed anywhere in the list of Pennsylvania amphibians!  He's bright green!

Enjoy your day and be blessed!

AHSC477 Hippo Congrats

Hi stampers!  Happy Tuesday!  I have a sweet little card that I made for a young lady from church who recently graduated. I hope she doesn't think it's too cutesy, but she is a very "youthful" young lady, and I know she and her sisters used to take ballet, so I thought it would be fun!  It uses the new SAB set that will be coming out in July; it's called Hippest Hippos, and it has the cutest set of dies to go with it....I can't wait to play with it some more!  First, I used the Atlantic Hearts sketch:

I pulled out some DSPs from a couple of years ago and here's what I came up with:

I stamped my little ballerina in Memento black ink and colored her with some blends.  I diecut some hearts and mounted her on top with a little wiggly spring-thing....not sure what it's called, but when you touch the hippo, she wiggles back and forth!  So fun!

The sentiment is from Charming Sentiments, diecut with the matching die, but I didn't like how it looked, so I just mounted it on a hand-snipped banner!  I added a "happy graduation" stamp inside and it was done! The card itself is 4 1/4" square.  Hope she likes it!

Making some popsicles....should be interesting!

Thanks for popping in today...enjoy it and be blessed!

JUGS636 Furry and Bright

Happy Monday, peeps!  I got some new goodies this past week from the upcoming holiday mini catalog and I couldn't wait to play with one of them...Christmas Scottie!  SO CUTE!  I paired it with the Give It a Whirl dies, because I hadn't played with that one yet and thought it would be fun to combine them.  So here we go:

There are no directions that come with the die, so I went on YouTube and found several good videos that helped explain it! It's not hard at all and the set comes with tons of other fun dies as well.  I stamped the scottie in Basic Black and punched him out, then mounted him on a plaid panel of Soft Succulent.  I stamped the ribbons on the Real Red mat in Versamark and added a couple of Real Red glimmer stars with dies also included in the set.  I used three of the sentiments to show through the window:

I added the last sentiment on the inside as well as one from Christmas to Remember:

And since the JUGS challenge is to add a moving element to your card, I am entering there as well!

A trip to Sakehana means practicing her chopstick technique!

Thanks for visiting today!  Enjoy it and be blessed!
