PP546 CAS Fruit

Happy Sunday, peeps!  It's Father's Day but I don't have a Father's Day card for you...not today, anyway!  Joanne is our Paper Players hostess, and she has a CAS challenge for us:

What a great challenge!  I still have some Berry Delightful DSP left over from SAB, so I thought it would be fun to create a simple shaker card using that paper and the Tailored Tags dies!  So here we go:

I used two of the tag dies to cut some plaid DSP and a foam adhesive sheet, then added a piece of window sheet to the window area and filled it with some red sequins.  I fussy cut a strawberry and leaf from the DSP, then added a sentiment from Banner Year and matted it with some Pear Pizzazz cardstock, cut with a Layering Circles die.  I added some ribbon to the top and adhered it all to a plain Basic White card:

The foam sheets make creating a shaker card pretty easy!  And even though this has several elements, I think it still fits the CAS requirements! And since the TGIF challenge this week is a "peek-a-boo window", I am entering it there as well!

I hope you'll play along with our  CAS challenge this week with your fruit and berries cards!  Can't wait to see what you create!  Share it with us over at the Paper Players and you may be our Headliner!  And be sure to check out what the Design Team made as well!

We had a fairly good turnout for our crafty yard sale, not as good as I would have liked, but it was fun nontheless.  Dana was my cashier and Cassidy sold bottles of water and is giving the proceeds to the family of Jacob, the young man in our church who is in a coma.  She explained why she was selling the water and a lot of people helped her out!  She was quite persistent with her "selling" technique!!

Grampy got in some free advertising as she gave away pens and flashlights with his company's name ot them!  And free hand sanitizer in scented or unscented!!!  It was fun to get her involved!!  Thanks for popping in today...enjoy it and be blessed!

In(k)spire Me 451 Welcome Baby

Happy Friday, peeps!  I spent a very frustrating afternoon yesterday dealing with new cell phone issues, and I didn't feel much like stamping, but I forced myself to sit down and do some watercoloring with the colors from In(k)spire Me to create a baby card:

Although I found the sketch interesting, it didn't work with this "vintage" SU image I wanted to use:

This image is from Feathered Friends, from 2006!  I haven't used it in a long, long time, but I always loved this line-drawing artwork!  I stamped it in Stazon on watercolor paper and did some watercoloring....the designs are so small, I'm afraid I didn't do a very good job.  I rushed it instead of drying each color as I finished it, but hopefully the recipient won't mind too much!  I used Pool Party, Blushing Bride, Bumblebee, and my mystery color was Balmy Blue.  I mounted it on a scallop of Bumblebee, then on some retired Gingham.

I diecut three buttons from the same watercolor paper and watercolored them as well, so they would be a paler shade and not overpower the design:

And for fun I ran some cotton perle thread through to make them look sewn!  Simple design, nothing fancy!  Thanks for visiting today!

My two great-nieces came over to play with Cassidy yesterday; I am afraid Cassidy has just outgrown her dolls, but I saved the dollhouse and accessories just for days like this.  She USED to play with them:

but she was content to let these two play with it outside in the fresh air yesterday!

Enjoy your day and be blessed!

TTTC118 Friendship

Hello again, stampers!  It's time for Team X to play Tic Tac Toe, and Felicita is our hostess!  Here's her grid:

I chose the top row across of "Friendship, Summer Theme and Single Layer", although I could probably use the middle row across as well!  I pulled out a stamp that a dear friend got for me called Friendship Grows.  It's an older SU stamp and I think I got it when it first came out, then got rid of it and always regretted it.  So I was thrilled when she sent it to me...she is the epitome of FRIENDSHIP!  So anyway, here we go:

I stamped the image in Stazon ink on some Shimmery White cardstock and watercolored all the images.  I was a wee bit upset that my sentiment got a little smudgy after all my hard work, but I wasn't about to re-do it, LOL!  It will just have to do!

I am also entering this at the Krafty Chicks challenge, as they are looking for CAS as well!

I hope you'll play along with our Tic Tac Toe challenge this week....and share your creation with us at the blog!  Can't wait to see it!  Thanks for visiting today!  Enjoy it and be blessed!

IB179 Melony Birthday

Happy Thursday, peeps!  We have a fun Inspired By challenge for you today---oh, who am I kidding, they're ALWAYS fun!  Check out these yummy treats!!!

And here is our optional sketch, too...I chose not to use it, but you can use the sketch, the photo or both for your card!

I've had these Fruit Fusion papers from Papertrey forever....and the watermelon print seemed perfect for today's challenge:

I layered some on a piece of Petal Pink, then added a little side flap (which was actually cut from the cover of the paper pad!) using the Basic Borders dies.  I stamped the sentiment from Shaded Summer and diecut it with the Scalloped Contours die, then backed it with a Stitched Rectangle in Kiwi Kiss (remember that one?) and added some fun ribbon I came across in an old Paper Pumpkin kit:

I did fussy-cut another little watermelon from a scrap and adhered it to the sentiment for fun!  Easy peasy watermelon squeezy!  Hope you'll play along with our sweet inspiration this week...it's perfect for creating some summer-theme cards!  Share them with us at the Inspired By blog!!  Thanks for popping in today!

Cassidy sent me this photo of Eden lying on Dana's yoga mat:

Gives new meaning to "Downward Facing Dog"!!!  Enjoy your day and be blessed!

GDP296 Tote Inspired

Happy Wednesday, peeps!  I have a fun, quick card today using the Hand-Penned Petals set, stamped very simply, but using some bold colors!  My inspiration was a tote bag my sister gave me; it looks black and white here, but it's actually navy and white with a pop of pink!

And I used the CASE the Designer inspiration from Global Design Project:

And here we go:

I diecut some stitched strips from Night of Navy and Basic White cardstock and lined them up on the edge of my card.  I diecut another narrower strip of Polished Pink and adhered that vertically:

I stamped the floral image in Night of Navy as well and added the thanks in Polished Pink.

To finish it off, I added a diecut bow from Pierced Blooms!  I really like the simplicity of this!  Thanks for popping in today!

Cassidy downloaded a "teach yourself to play the piano" app yesterday:

It's only free up to a certain point....she learned from middle C to G, and how to do the fingering on her right hand.  She did pretty well, too!  She was playing the beginning part of Ode to Joy by the time she was done!  You have to pay to go any further, so I doubt Mommy will go for that, LOL! Considering we both took lessons for about the same amount of time, we should jump in and try to teach her...but you know how that goes!  But we were pretty proud of what she learned!

Enjoy your day and be blessed!

Perfectly CAS Shells

Happy Tuesday, peeps!  It's an early day, I pick up Cassidy at 7:15 and we have some errands to run and then who knows what we'll get into!  I quick made a card last night before bedtime, using the 1/3 corner challenge at Perfectly CAS, and the shell challenge at Fusion:

I am not sure if my card is CAS enough, as I do have some layering of my shells, but I still like the simplicity of it, so I am sticking with it!  Here we go:

I haven't used Very Vanilla very much lately, so I started by sponging the lower right corner with some Balmy Blue ink, then stamped a really old Cornish Heritage Farms Cheesecloth background stamp over top in Sahara Sand ink.  Pulling out Friends are Like Seashells, I stamped and lightly colored in some shells, starfish and sand dollar with Blends, then fussy-cut them out; I do have the dies, but I wanted to have no "halo" around the edges:

I added a few gold metallic pearls and a sentiment from the same set. This makes me feel happy--almost like being at the beach!  Thanks for popping in today! Enjoy it and be blessed!

Best Year Birthday

Happy Monday, peeps!  Hope you had a good weekend!  I have a sweet little birthday card today using a sentiment from the new Best Year set....it has lots of great sentiments!  It also uses the sketch from TGIF Challenges, and the color palette from Less is More:

And here we go:

I first embossed the card base with the Stitched Greenery die, then diecut three panels with the Tasteful Labels dies.  I hand-cut a mat from Soft Sky for each one so they would stand out a bit, then added an embossed sentiment and some Pierced Blooms die and bow:

The final embellishment was a little yellow rhinestone on the bow!  Thanks for popping in today!

Last day of fifth grade!  Time is flying by so quickly! Now a summer of trying to keep her busy and entertained, LOL!

Enjoy your day and be blessed!
