Beautiful Bouquet Crate of FLowers

Hi everyone!  I hope you had a good weekend!  We had a CRAZY busy weekend....so much going on, I decided to take a rest this week and only have a yard sale this weekend, LOL!  Hopefully after next weekend, things will calm down a bit!

Friday night I had a new catalog party and although this is not the project we made (I'll share that later in the week), I was quite busy during the week making samples, and this was one of my favorites!  It uses the Wood Crate die with some Wood Textures DSP and an assortment of flowers from the Beautiful Bouquet stamp set and Bouquet Bunch Framelits:

Stamping and diecutting everything was a little time-consuming, but there is such a plethora of images that I just couldn't stop!  It was just like flower-arranging, figuring out where to put them in the little crate!

I added a sentiment from the same set and mounted the whole shebang on a Flirty Flamingo card base:

This will be saved for an extra-special birthday greeting!

SO....while I was having my stamping party with friends, including my new little stamper-in-training, Annalee:

Wayne was proposing to Dana...and of course, she said yes!

That was the start of our crazy weekend!  We are very excited and happy for them!

Be sure to stop back for my Stamp Ink Paper creation tomorrow!  Be blessed!

Paper Players 349 Feathered Friend

Happy Sunday, peeps!  I can say "peeps" today because our Paper Players challenge from Jaydee is about "Feathered Friends"!  Check it out:

It's a clean and simple challenge as well, so I took advantage of this nice sketch from CAS(E) this Sketch:!

While I was checking out all the new DSPs from the catalog, this particular pattern in the Delightful Daisy series took my breath away!  SO pretty:

I used a section of it as my main panel, added a Powder Pink mat, and diecut a little bird from the Birds and Blooms thinlets.  Can you see him down there in the corner, perched on a petal of the daisy?:

My card uses the new thick Very Vanilla cardstock....very nice, it makes such a great base!  To create the bird, I took a scrap of watercolor paper, wet it liberally and added some Tranquil Tide ink to the wet paper, then dried it quickly with my heat tool.  I love how the darker portion ended up under his eye:

For my "hello", I masked a portion of sentiment from Better Together and stamped it in Smoky Slate on another scrap of watercolor paper and diecut it with the Stitched Shapes smallest circle. Sometimes I struggle with CAS cards but this one flowed together so well, it was a joy!  And I just love my birds, so it was a double joy!

I hope you'll play with our challenge this week too!  The DT has some fun cards for you to peruse! Check them out:

And speaking of joy, you can't get any better than this:

Nothing like playing in the creek on a hot almost-summer day!  Enjoy YOUR day and be blessed!

Seashells for CAS Watercolour

Happy Friday, again, peeps!  Wow, two posts in one day!  It's a busy weekend for sure!  I am back with my second "installment" of the CAS Watercolour series for June, which is "summer"!

Displaying June 2017.jpg

I went around and around, thinking of another beachy-themed card, because that's what summer means to me!  My family members have spent hundreds of hours at the Delaware shore over the last 60-some years, and one of my earliest memories as a child was collecting big clam shells, taking them back to the house my grandmother rented for a week, and painting them with a watercolor set she gave me!  I rarely see those big shells anymore when we go to the beach, so I decided to "paint" some myself!

I took some watercolor paper and splashed on some Bermuda Bay and Soft Sky inks and once it was dry, stamped this old, old seashell image from Lizzie Anne in Encore Gold ink and heat-embossed it with Gold Glory embossing powder:

I mounted it on a circle of gold foil; the leftover piece of watercolor paper I diecut with some seashell dies from Impression Obsession:

I added a little Crumb Cake "sand" and some sequins for a little sparkle.  The banner was also watercolored and heat-embossed as well!  This set is one of my favorites and sadly, I don't even think the company is in business any longer.

So please come play with us and share you summer watercoloring with us!  You can find all the details at CAS Watercolour!  Be blessed and enjoy your day!

Exciting News and AYSI152

Happy Friday, everyone!  I am really excited today because I have some awesome news....I was asked to be a designer for the As You See It challenge!  It has been one of my favorite challenges for a long time and I am thrilled to be creating with such a nice group of stampers! You need to check out who else is joining their team...I am in great company!!!  I'm not going to tell, you'll need to hop over to their blog to see!!

Here's their sketch for this challenge:

No automatic alt text available.

Their challenges run for two weeks, so there is plenty of time to try it!

I just received all my new DSPs and my head was spinning with choices, but I finally decided on a pattern from Naturally Eclectic, pairing it with some floral images and diecuts from the Beautiful Bouquet bundle:

My sentiment is from Jar of Love, stamped in Fresh Fig....it really packs a punch!  I stamped the leaves in a combination of Lemon Lime Twist and Pear Pizzazz....they match the leaves in the DSP pretty well:

I hope you'll play along with us--see you in the gallery!

I just had to share this picture of Cassidy at the library; they had a summer reading kickoff party with reading, games, face-painting (she forgot she had her face painted and itched it with her arm....can you see the paint?), and crafts!  A little boy from her school has a crush on her and sat with her while they were doing the craft activity....check out the look on his face!  TOO cute!  You can see how interested Cassidy was in him, LOL!

Enjoy your day and be blessed and a blessing!

Tranquil Tide Happiness

Happy Wednesday, peeps!  If you're over here on the east coast, I hope you're weathering this heat!  I have been stamping like crazy, making samples for my upcoming catalog party, and I used this sketch from Tuesday Morning Sketches to highlight my favorite new In Color this year:  Tranquil Tide!  Here's the sketch:

Again, a monochromatic card!!!  But Tranquil Tide is so pretty, I think it can stand on its own just fine:

My papers are from the Fresh Florals stack and the sentiment is from Colorful Seasons.  I stamped the flowers from Jars of Love off on a scrap of paper first before diecutting them, so they had a lighter tone; the greenery was stamped full-strength.  I used a Layering Circles die for a scallop border, and it was done!

Monday was the last day of school and already we've done library visit, dropped off donated food to the food pantry, did some artwork and painting, and gone out for ice cream!  We have some activities planned and hopefully we'll get to the pool to cool off!

Enjoy your day and be blessed!

SIP103 Life Happens

Happy Tuesday, all!  The Stamp Ink Paper challenge is a nice easy sketch this week!  Check it out:

Image may contain: text

As I said yesterday, I have been waiting forever for SU to come out with a cute coffee stamp, and they finally did! I just love this set Coffee Cafe!  It works so well with the Coffee Break DSP, too! The stamp set has matching dies, but the images are fairly easy to cut out, so I opted to save a little money and not get them.  So here we go:

I stamped my cup in Early Espresso, but honestly, I think Chocolate Chip would have been a better match!  I added a Pear Pizzazz straw, a little heart Corrugated Element, a Soft Sky lid, shaded with ink and a blender pen:

and a sentiment stamped in Garden Green:

I hope you'll play along with our challenge this week....we've had some amazing submissions lately and we'd love to see yours!!

A couple more photos from Philadelphia:

Enjoy your day!  Yesterday was the last day of school, so summer vacation has officially started!  Be blessed!

CAS on Sunday 109 Coffee Bean

Happy Monday, peeps!  Hope you had a good weekend!  I have a quick, funny CAS card for the CAS on Sunday challenge, which is to use a repetitive image!  I have been waiting forever for SU to come out with a cute coffee stamp, and they finally did!  I love coffee!! This set is called Coffee Cafe!  For my easy card today, I made a punny one!

This is just a notecard-sized card, extremely CAS....I stamped the coffee beans and a few little speckles in the corner, then stamped and punched letters from Labeler Alphabet to make my punny sentiment:

That's it!  Stay tuned for another coffee-related post for tomorrow's SIP challenge!

Cassidy, Wayne and Dana went to Franklin Institute in Philadelphia yesterday.  It's a cool science museum that generations of adults (and children of those same adults!) have visited.  You can see how LARGE the building is by these two photos...you can barely see Cassidy, Wayne or Dana:

Wayne and Cass are on the steps going inside; Dana and Cass are in front of the statue of Ben Franklin; and oh look!!!  The sign outside the building is in LEMON LIME TWIST and Bermuda Bay!  I guess that Twist IS a trendy color!!  Enjoy your day, thanks for stopping by and be blessed!
