Less is More 198

Happy Monday, peeps!  We made it through the weekend!  I have a real quick card for you today; I came up with this idea laying in bed one night, waiting to fall asleep, and amazingly, it came out pretty much how I envisioned it!  That doesn’t always happen, right?  I had a couple of tiny champagne glimmer trees punched out and laying on my desk, and I thought they would look cute in a circle….kind of like a snowflake.  So I punched out a few more and mounted them on a stitched circle with a circle for the center:

They looked a little lost on the white background, so I added another stitched circle of brushed gold….better.  Added a gold sentiment, inside and out:

This works great for the Less Is More challenge this week, too:  more than one tree!  Since I have eight, I think it qualifies!  Thanks for peeking in today!

Paper Players 222 Old and New

Hi stampers!  It’s Sunday, and that means another Paper Players challenge; this week it’s a Clean and Simple  from the awesome Ann, and “thank you” is our theme:

Since I have been dusting off some unloved stamp sets and inking them up lately, I came across a couple from my very early stamping days….around 2000 or 2001, maybe even earlier!  Yikes!  So when I saw Ann’s challenge, I decided to put them to use!  Say it With Scriptures has been used so much, the impressions are a little fuzzy around the edges, but I felt like they were an old friend and I didn’t want to throw them out!  I paired up this Philippians verse with the fall images from Nature’s Seasonal Borders on a notecard-sized card.  I began by stamping the sentiment in Gold Encore ink and embossing it with Gold Glory embossing powder:

Watercoloring was my absolutely first love when I began stamping!  I can’t draw worth a bean, so to have those outline images already created for me was a dream!  I could just color them in!!  I stamped this wonderful border in Stazon and used my Aquapainter to add some fall hues.  I colored in each square’s border with a gold Zig Painty pen:

To add a wee bit more gold-ness, I used Itty Bitty Backgrounds to add some Gold Encore speckle, then diecut two Lawn Fawn stitched leaves in Brushed Gold and Gold Glimmer cardstocks and adhered them under a bit of gold baker’s twine:

Vintage Kitchen

Happy Saturday, peeps!  This is going to be short & sweet, and I am not sure how much I’ll be around next week!  It’s going to be one of those crazy weeks with lots to do each day!  It always works out, though, right?!!  We get done what needs to get done, and if we don’t, then it wasn’t necessary!! LOL!  Anyway, I recently received a sweet gift from the lovely folks at Crafty Secrets, and wanted to make a thank you card using their digital images and papers:

It’s not anything fancy, but I loved the retro colors and images, and that little bowl with the sentiment fit my thoughts perfectly!  I added some polka dot ribbon and my simple card was done!  I am linking it up to their November challenge as well, which you can see here.  Have a marvelous weekend, and see you tomorrow for a new Paper Players challenge!

More Christmas Cards

Happy Friday, peeps!  Wow, is it cold where you live?  We actually had some sleet last night and I know some areas are snowy…..with LOTS of snow!  And speaking of snow, check out this card I made while I was at my friend Sandy’s a couple weeks ago!  She graciously let me borrow White Christmas and Holiday Home!  I loved the combination of Basic Black and Coastal Cabana:

I struggled with the sentiment, until I got home and tried my Endless Wishes with a little banner…perfect!  I stamped, colored and diecut a few of the houses from Holiday Home, and assembled this one at home too…I had already made the sentiment for another card but decided against it, so I added it to this one:

It’s a bit hard to see but the “very merry christmas” is heat embossed with silver embossing powder on brushed silver cardstock.  I diecut it with an oval die from Word Bubbles, then just cut off the little “hook”!

Happy Thursday, everyone!  Just a quick little Christmas card today; I already had this Santa image stamped, colored and diecut when I saw the Freshly Made Sketches sketch for this week:

So here we go:

I took the liberty of substituting the oval for the rectangle, and this Folk Art Santa from All Night Media is probably one of the first stamps I ever bought, and I don’t ever remember using it!  I stamped him in Stazon and colored him with SU markers:

It can’t be seen here, but the stars have some Wink of Stella glitter on them; of course, I added gold glimmer stars, and some gold baker’s twine.  Paper is Authentique.  Thanks for visiting today!

When you jump into a leaf pile wearing pink cowboy boots:

chances are those boots might come off in the leaf pile!!

Felt Fun for NAC115

Happy Wednesday, peeps!  Yay, we made it to the halfway point of the week!  I just loved the Nacho Average Challenge sketch this week, and since I haven’t played with them in a long time, I went to work!

A local gift shop owner asked me if I would put some hand-stamped Christmas cards in her shop, and of course, I said yes!  I have lots of cards already, but I thought I’d delve into some of the Christmas DSP that I don’t get a chance to use too often to make a few more!  These papers are from Authentique’s Two Christmases in One; the blue paper was stamped with an image from a retired Cornish Heritage Farm set called Winter Vintage Signage in Lost Lagoon ink (boy, I miss CHF!!); the sentiment is from Papertrey’s Daily Designs Sentiments, stamped in Cherry Cobbler.

I used a Nestie die to cut out a mitten  from the HUGE stash of felt I am hoarding, and added a little Candy Dot brad and floss bow!  A little line of embossing with SU’s retired Needlepoint EF finished it off.

While I had my felt out, I cut out a banner shape and created a tree:

The papers I used for this card are from Lily Bee’s Jingle line; I cut out a snowy stitched hill in Naturals White with a Lawn Fawn die, added a cardinal from SU’s Festival of Trees, some sequins from Sylvia’s etsy store,  and a sparkly star punched from some Dazzling Diamonds glimmer paper.  Sentiment is from Verve:

Using up some of my stash makes me happy!

Cassidy is quite the hostess, serving lunch to several of her dolls; today’s menu is cookies, carrots and corn!

IO Thanksgiving

 

Happy Tuesday, and Happy Veterans Day!  Be sure to thank any veteran you see today; his or her service is valuable beyond measure!  And speaking of being thankful, Impression Obsession has a Thanksgiving wishes challenge; you can see it here.  Now, I only have a couple of IO stamp sets, and none have a Thanksgiving sentiment, so I am hoping that I can convey the emotion and feeling of Thanksgiving with images only:

I have used these little inchies before…they’re some of my fall favorites! They are from Autumn Squares, CL138.   I stamped them in Memento ink and colored them with Copics.  I stamped some leaves from the same set in Cajun Craze, added a Summer Starfruit ribbon and a bit of border stamping in Early Espresso!   The border is from an older IO set and I cannot find a name…I know it was a fall seasonal set and there were similar sets for the other seasons….maybe someone knows the name of it!
