CCMC203 & F4A118

 DSCF0963

I was perusing some blogs today and when I saw the sketch from Create with Connie & Mary, I went running the other way!  Yikes, what a sketch!  But I returned to it later and thought I would give it a go, really stepping out of my comfort zone.  Here it is:

2012 Create Challenges-019

And here is my very uncharacteristic (to me, anyway) creation:

 DSCF0964

Marisa lamented yesterday how skewed panels (see her wonderful card here) make her uncomfortable, so I thought I would attempt one, although I’ve done them before, I am not sure this was the best sketch with which to use it!  It looks a little bottom heavy……sort of like me!  Oh well!  I used Betsy’s Blossoms, Distressed Dots and Short and Sweet for my sentiment….all stamped in Melon Mambo.  Well, the dots are stamped in Craft White.   Which also qualifies this for the SCS Free 4 All challenge today, which is to use hot pink!

DSCF0965

This is a fun set with some cool elements.  It came together fairly quickly; I punched the tags and I already had a piece of white rickrack diecut!  I just cut out the flowers and leaves, diecut the sentiment and adhered it together!  TFL!

Yesterday, we had a busy afternoon—the library, a trip to the ice cream store, a short jaunt to the playground and the farmer’s market…..so as I laid Cassidy down for her nap and gave her a couple books to “read”, she laid them on her lap and she was out in 30 seconds:

Happy Dirtday Challenges

 DSCF0917

I combined a few challenges today to make a “little boy” card….that might appeal to a big boy as well!  First, the SCS WT376 challenge was to use green; the Hand Stamped Sentiments challenge 119 was to make a masculine card (actually they said it’s all about the man-cave…..I may be stretching this a bit!); and Mary Jo’s Techno Stamper sketch #222:

I did flip my circular element on my card as it balanced the bulldozer image a little bit better:

I am not real sure about the two greens together, but I really wanted to use the new In Color, Gumball Green, especially that fun ribbon!  I paired it with Lucky Limeade and some paper from the Summer Smooches line.  I am sure some little boy won’t mind two clashing shades!  Here’s the inside as well:

Monkey 109

 DSCF0888

Hey peeps!  Or maybe I should say “sheeps” today, because my card has a sweet little lamb featured on it!  I used the sketch from A La Card Monkey for this week:

to make a birthday card for a special friend who likes to knit!

 DSCF0885

I used some new papers from the upcoming catalog called Comfort Cafe and one of the new In Colors, Midnight Muse, paired with Crumb Cake.  I LOVE this combination!  The little images from Hand Knit were simply stamped in Midnight Muse, punched with a circle punch, then outlined quickly (don’t look too closely!) with a Sahara Sand marker!  I did pop up the little ball of yarn:

and made a couple of little tags for a gift to tuck inside the envelope (pardon the bad photography here):

What a fun sketch!  Thanks, Terry & Shirley!

Already Cassidy is a discerning artist, perusing carefully her blue crayon (every crayon is “blue” to her!):

ColourQ138 & ISSC16

  CQC138-LeAnne

Woohoo!  It’s Tuesday, and that means another ColourQ!  Check out this stylish inspiration photo:

cqc138

Let’s just say that these will not be a part of MY wardrobe any time soon!  I am more of a flipflops/flats kind of girl!  Besides, DH would be looking up at me if I wore these!  But it did give me a chance to use a fun set to make a cute card for a special friend:

CQC138-LeAnne-001

I made my own DP by stamping some floral images in the challenge colors; I stamped that stylish pump in Poppy Parade,  and some script background in Pool Party, and then put it all together using the sketch from iSpy Sketches:

I thought the sketch was a bit challenging, but it came together more easily than I anticipated!!  But you’ve got to read the inside:

Aw, isn’t that fun?!  I hope you can play along with us this week as well!  Share your creation over at the ColourQ blog and see what the other designers fabricated with these fun colors---I am sure you’ll be inspired!

Merry Monday 21

 DSCF0663

Happy Monday, peeps!  I hope and pray you had a wonderful weekend!  It’s time for another Merry Monday challenge!  Let’s look at the sweet sketch Lesley came up with for us today:

Lots of possibilities with this one!  I challenged myself to use some of my retired SU paper, and this is what I came up with:

Merry Monday 21

This Blueberry Crisp paper is beautiful, but it was a bit of a challenge to get my colors to match the way I wanted, but I was happy in the end!  My card base is Sahara Sand;  the tree image was stamped on Very Vanilla in Pacific Point, and every panel of the card was overstamped in Sahara Sand with the Texture jumbo wheel, which of course, I just got, and is retiring!  Go figure!  It added just the right bit of “texture” to tie everything together.  I cut out my tree freehand and added a little mat behind it to give it depth, and topped it off with a big bling:

I enjoyed making this card, and I hope you’ll find inspiration from the sketch and play along with us as well.  Check out all the details on the Always Playing with Paper blog, and see what the other designers have come up with as well!  Remember, if you have any questions, please feel free to email me!

After breakfast, Cassidy knows she has to wash her hands, which really means “playing in the sink full of bubbles”.  I wasn’t moving quickly enough for her, so she took matters into her own hands and began pushing the chair over to the sink:

Uh-oh…..she realized she was too far from the sink!

Grammy to the rescue!  “Hand-washing” begins!  Have a great day and thanks for visiting!

Paper Players 96 and FMS 35

 DSCF0817

Happy Sunday, everyone!  It’s been beautiful here in PA this weekend, so I didn’t do much stamping!  But it is time for the Paper Players challenge, with Anne Marie as our hostess!  Once again, I “missed” the CAS portion of this polka dot challenge, but hopefully Anne Marie will be lenient with me!

I LOVE polka dots, and Lesley’s Freshly Made Sketches sketch with the three panels this week was perfect for my idea:

And here we go:

PP96-LeAnne

I used DP in Baja Breeze, Pacific Point and Marina Mist,  and stamped my little teacup in Marina Mist as well. I have used this idea of hearts floating above the teacup before, but it is so cute, I had to do it again!  And the cute little banner from Itty Bitty Banners will be available June 1!

I hope you’ll play along with us this week….everybody likes polka dots, don’t they!?  Be sure to hop over to the Paper Players blog so you can share you creation and see what the others have created as well!

SSC256 Graduation

 DSCF0843

Popping in quickly with a graduation card I made for my nephew; it uses the sketch from Stampin 411, which I turned on its side, and a retired set called Go, Graduate, that my friend Maryanne let me borrow.  Here’s the sketch:

And here’s the card:

DSCF0842

Our school colors are maroon and gold, so I used More Mustard and Cherry Cobbler for the embossed pieces; the image was colored with a blender pen and ink.  Quick & easy!  Thanks for visiting! And be sure to come back tomorrow for a fun challenge from the Paper Players!
