Paper Players 69

DSCF8951

Sunday, beautiful Sunday!  It’s another Paper Players day, and Nance is our lovely hostess with a sketch:

PP69-1

Of course, after I finish my card, I realize the sentiment is to be in the lower right hand corner…..oops!  I am always in such a hurry!  I hope Nance doesn’t mind!  I used Established Elegance last week for a masculine card, so I thought today I would use it for a feminine card.  I just love all the elements in this set—so vintage-y lovely!

PP69 LeAnne

I used different patterns of the Beau Chateau DP for my panels, the main one embossed with the Stripes embossing folder and sponged a bit with Sahara Sand ink.  I cut around the flowers on my vertical panel, stamped a few images and added a couple scalloped edges and embellishments full of vintage goodness:

I added a sentiment from Bring on the Cake for the inside:

I hope you’ll find some time to play with this versatile sketch that Nance has created!  Wander on over to the Paper Players blog to see what the other designers have created and share your creation with us too!

Stampin Royalty 94

DSCF9001-2

I have not played with any of the Stampin’ Royalty challenges for a long, long time!  I still had this Happy Go Lucky paper sitting on my desk from yesterday’s card, and when I saw this week’s sketch, I thought these papers would make a cheerful card!  Here’s the sketch:

SRC94

And here’s my card:

DSCF9002

I went pretty literal with the sketch!  My diecut panel is from Waltzingmouse, stamped in Baja Breeze and cut with a Nestie.  The birds are some Puffies from my LSS; the buttons are diecut with SU’s Button Die; sentiment is from MFT, stamped in Not Quite Navy.  Pretty simple!  Email me if you have any questions!

PPA116 For My Friend

DSCF8960-1

Wow, it is a blustery day today in PA; I feel like I should have a little Toto in my arms and wearing ruby slippers—already DH had to renail some roofing on the little shed he’s building!  Anyway, I made a card today for a special friend using the sketch from Pals Paper Arts:

PPA116

and although the sketch is a square card, I was using an image that my friend stamped for me, which was rectangular, so I did a traditionally shaped card:

DSCF8958

This is for my friend Martha, who is just such a blessing to me!  She is a mentor, a sounding block, a shoulder to cry on and a woman of strong Christian faith!  If we lived closer together, I could just see us together, sitting on this bench, sharing some stamping ideas!!  LOL!  Martha stamped this image for me; she shared the scalloped border you see here and she also gifted me with the pretty butterfly charm!  Isn’t she sweet?  I used Copics for coloring (I think I should have used another color for the skin tones!!) and some yummy Lime Twist Happy Go Lucky DP….oooh, just love that stuff!

DSCF8959-1

So, since she reads my blog, this won’t be a surprise when she receives it, but I think she’ll still enjoy it!  Oh, and here’s the inside:

Enjoy your day!

FMS7 Sympathy

DSCF8921

On Monday, I got word from four different friends or family members that a loved one had passed away….FOUR!  I was slightly overwhelmed by the news and yesterday was just a little out of sorts.  I got to work making a couple of cards to send out as I knew I only had a few sympathy cards in my stash.  I got a sneak peek at Lesley’s Freshly Made Sketches sketch #7, and as I was having a sleepless night, got up and did some stamping!  Here’s the sketch:

FMS7

And here’s my card:

DSCF8918

This is for our youth pastor’s FIL who lost his battle with cancer.  They live here in PA and his wife’s family live in GA, so it has been stressful to travel back & forth.  The FIL was a pastor as well and a really fun guy—we met him at our youth pastor’s ordination—and he will be greatly missed.  I liked the crown image from Established Elegance, and the Well Worn papers are very masculine; I did add some denim ribbon, just a tad, to add some interest.

DSCF8920

I hope that Lesley deems this “clean” enough!!  I will need to be making a few more sympathy cards, so perhaps this sketch will be put to use again!

Wee Details:

  • Stamps:  Established Elegance, Thoughts & Prayers (retired set & I don’t remember the name)
  • Paper:  VV, Cajun Craze, Not Quite Navy, Crumb Cake, Well Worn & First Edition DP
  • Ink:  Not Quite Navy, Crumb Cake, River Rock
  • Acc:  Nesties, Denim Ribbon, Antique Brads, Button from my stash

My little reader….this particular book shows babies dressed in “work” clothes---aerobics teacher, artist, chef, and a plumber (complete with plunger and a butt crack view, which is more for the adults reading it than the kids, I think!)!! LOL!  It goes right over her head, but she loves to look at those babies!!!  Thanks for visiting today!

ColourQ 107

DSCF8898

Happy Tuesday, all you tricksters!  Check out this color combo from Arielle today:

cqc107

Not quite sure what this is, but with all the buttons and glittery ribbon, I am sure it would be something my DGD would love!  I just got a fun new stamp and was trying to make it work for this challenge; not too sure of my final outcome (win some, lose some, right?) so here it is:

CQC107-LeAnne

I do love the inside sentiment, though:

DSCF8893

That just cracks me up, for some reason!  Anyway, I did make another quick little card for a quick little granddaughter:

DSCF8895

A little simpler and more fun with all that glitter!!!  I hope you can find a creative spark to turn these colors into something fabulous!  Share it with us over at the ColourQ blog and while you’re there, check out what the other designers made as well!

Sunday was Cassidy’s baptism; she almost fell out of the minister’s arms trying to play in the water in the baptismal font!!!  Afterwards we had lunch with family, and it was a beautiful day to RUN outside:

CAS Cupcake

DSCF8911

A quick post today---and a quick little card made with Easy Events—one of the nicest little versatile sets in the SU catalog!  This is for the SCS challenge today, which is to use a cupcake!

DSCF8912

This is a 3 1/2 x 5 notecard made from Naturals Ivory cardstock; the image is stamped on Very Vanilla and colored with an aquapainter and Baja Breeze and Real Red inks.  I added some glitter and a little heart “cherry” punched with the owl punch:

Paper Players 68

DSCF8785

Happy Sunday, everyone!  Today, Lesley has a CAS Paper Players challenge for us! (I always miss that “CAS” part!)  Luckily, I didn’t have much time so I DID make a CAS one!  Here’s the challenge:

PP68

And here’s my card:

PP68-LeAnne

I have to tell you, I was totally inspired by Lauri’s card that she made here for my musical challenge a couple weeks ago!  I have seen these cards made before, but I thought this one translated into a nice CAS card.  I made my wreath from Garden Green Patterns DP by punching a circle first with my 1 3/8” circle punch, then centering the scallop punch over the hole—much easier that way.  I did that twice, layered and sponged the edges, added my little tag & glittery bird, and I was done!  The panels of the door are actually three layers of cardstock….I wanted them to be raised, but not with dimensionals.  I trimmed my actual card down a little to fit the panels better.

Here’s a view of the inside, using Christmas Greetings:

I hope you’ll play along with this easy challenge this week!  Be sure to check out the other designers’ creations at the Paper Players blog!

My little apple eater is being baptized today, so hopefully we’ll have some pictures to share later!  Did your children eat apples with the skins on when they were this age?  I know I didn’t!  I am very careful to watch her for choking, but she chows down on these!

Wee Details:

  • Stamps:  Tiny Tags, Christmas Greetings
  • Paper:  WW, Red Glimmer Paper, Garden Green Patterns DP
  • Ink:  Real Red, Garden Green
  • Acc:  Merry Details Sizzlet, Narrow Grosgrain Ribbon, Jewelry Tag Punch, Scallop Punch, 1 3/8” Circle Punch, Jumbo Brad
