Paper Players 237

DSCF8679
Happy Sunday, everyone!  Hope you all are having a great weekend so far!  I am the hostess at the Paper Players this week and I’ve got a sketch for you:
I just couldn’t decide what to put in that horizontal panel; I really wanted to stamp something, but in the end, pulled out some of my neglected Maritime DSP and the cute Sea Street stamp set:

I stamped Mr Octopus in Coastal Cabana, and his friends in Night of Navy and Real Red, then added a sentiment from the Project Life photopolymer set Remember This:

Life IS good, right?!  I am also entering this in the Male Room's Under Water theme!  A new challenge to me, thanks to Deborah!   I hope you’ll play along with us this week, and share your creation with us at the Paper Players blog!  Meanwhile, check out what the other designers created:
We had a little surprise snow on Friday, what we call a nuisance snow, because it really didn’t stay too much on the roads:

Saturday morning, it was sunny and frosty:

Can spring be really here?  I think Cassidy is going to “whistle” it in!!!

Happy Saturday, everyone!  I’ve been very neglectful in keeping up with my Christmas cards, so I made some cards this morning to remedy that!  I used Karren’s Merry Monday challenge of “gifts”:

and the Freshly Made Sketches sketch for this week as well:

for my Christmas card:

Very Vanilla has been neglected in my craft room lately, so I stamped the gift image from My Creative Time’s Just For You stamp set in Gold Glory ink on some VV cardstock, then heat-embossed it with Gold embossing powder and trimmed it down.  I mounted it on a Soft Sky panel that was dry embossed with a snowfall-type EF, matted and bannered it with Gold Encore cardstock and it was finished!  And just for fun, I made another card with a vintage Santa image holding a 45 record that looks like a gift:

I used a Cosmo Cricket sentiment and snowflakes, stamping the flakes on some CC DSP called Garden Variety, but it fits my Christmas colors very well!

Thanks for visiting today!

A get well card this morning using the colors from Colour Me…!, shown below:

and the sketch from Try Stampin’ On Tuesday:

And here we go:

I don’t usually do well with Asian themes, but I did remember the retired Easter Blossoms had a cherry blossom image, so I stamped it in Early Espresso ink and used my Chalk pen to fill in the flowers.  My Very Vanilla background was “stamped” by inking the raised portion of the Honeycomb embossing folder with So Saffron ink and lightly pressing it on the cardstock.  I added some butterfly images from Dreams du Jour and some Gorgeous Grunge splatters:

A sentiment from Teeny Tiny Wishes and some So Saffron banners finished it off.  Thanks for visiting today!

LeAnne Pugliese WeeInklings Happy Easter Penny Black Chick and Daffodil-001

Happy Wednesday, peeps!  Thanks for all the get-well wishes!  I do feel a bit more like myself today!  I forced myself to stamp something yesterday—and I finally finished a card that I actually liked!  This is my third attempt to do the Less Is More challenge this week, which is a one-layer card featuring an animal!  I just got this cute Penny Black stamp from my girlfriend, and it seemed appropriate for the season as well as the challenge:

This is a notecard-sized card, and it’s not even SU paper…I had some cheapie Georgia Pacific cardstock on my desk, so I cut it to size and stamped my image in Stazon and watercolored it, which is always a risk, as sometimes the paper will pill, but it did pretty well:

I used Daffodil Delight, Pumpkin Pie and Wild Wasabi inks, then stamped the sentiment from Delightful Dozen, rounded the corners and called it a day!  It actually was clean and simple!   Hope you like it!  Edited to add:  Thanks to Sarah, who called my attention to the AAA Cards challenge, which is "bare naked"!!!  So I am submitting this card there as well!  Thanks, Sarah!

Speaking of Easter, we did some decorating on Monday:

She did a great job putting all those little Easter ornaments on my curly-cue tree!  Enjoy your day!

Paper Players 236

DSCF8584
Happy Sunday, peeps!  It’s time for another Paper Players challenge!  This week, the lovely and talented Ann is our hostess with a clean and simple challenge:
There are so many lovely floral images that SU has out right now, but I had this super cute Sweet Stuff set on my desk for another card, and I thought that the flower image had such a happy smile, it would be fun to use it for today’s challenge!  So here we go:

Although there are a couple of layers here on my notecard-sized card, it’s still very clean and simple!  I stamped the image in Stazon and colored it with Daffodil Delight, Pear Pizzazz and Pistachio Pudding inks and an aquapainter.

I got brave and stamped the sentiment from the photopolymer set So You with some Stazon ink (which doesn’t usually work well with clear stamps) on some retired Pear Pizzazz ribbon, and wonder of wonders, it worked pretty well!  I love the effect!

My stitched layers are from Lil’Inkers and the DSP is some retired SU in Daffodil Delight.  So happy and sunshiney!
I hope you’ll be inspired to play with us this week!  Check out what the other designers did with the challenge as well; you’ll love them:
The winter has been pretty hard on our yard and trees, as you can see by all the branches that have fallen on the ground!  Cassidy wanted to use one as a sword!

Happy Saturday, everyone!  Another green card today, this one with more of a vintage feel!  I used the Freshly Made Sketches sketch:

and the Take Your Pick challenge at The Kraft Journal; my choices were green, white and button:

LeAnne Pugliese WeeInklings Crafty Secrets Vintage Spring Wishes

I used a Crumb Cake cardbase and added some layers of DSP from a DCWV seasonal card stack.  I found a cute little Irish lady image from a Crafty Secrets Seasonal Booklet and trimmed it to fit my card.  I added a little Naturals White banner, stamped with a sentiment from Papertrey and a little floral image from Tiny Tags, then finished it off with some natural ribbon and a Very Vintage button tied with Linen thread!  Thanks for visiting today!

Cassidy has just started gymnastics, and the gym had a demonstration for all the parents….it was packed, and I did not get any good pictures.  I did snag this one (she was being held up by one of the spotters) on the small bar; she was too afraid on the higher one!  But all the kids got a medal, and she was thrilled with that!
