SS362 Fishy Dad's Day

Happy Tuesday, peeps! I was making a few Father's Day cards for my card box and thought the sketch from Sunday Stamps might be a good one to use! I had an idea in mind...it didn't come out quite as I envisioned it but sometimes that happens!  So here's the sketch:

I used the retired Gone Fishing bundle, which I'll never get rid of, because it's perfect for the fishermen in your family!  So here we go:

I used a card base of Old Olive, embossing it with my new Kristina Werner's Finishing Touches dies--aren't they fun?  I used pieces of Timeless Plaid DSP and cut my little elements from Basic Beige cardstock and stamped them to match:

At the last minute, I stamped "DAD" from the retired Guy Greetings just to add a little bit more to the front:

And stamped these on the inside:

Not a lot of frills, but guys don't really like frills, right?!  Thanks for visiting today!  Enjoy it and be blessed!

AHSC633 A Floral Hug

Happy Monday, peeps! Gray and icky out today, a good day to stay in my stamp room and create!  The Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge is a great one this week:

I got a new embossing folder recently and I couldn't wait to put it to use! I already had this little rose image stamped, colored and cut, and it worked perfectly with the sketch! Here we go:

I embossed a Pretty in Pink panel with a Spellbinders Floral and Vine embossing folder, then blended just a wee bit of ink on the top.  The flower is from Year of Flowers, and it was stamped in Smoky Slate, then colored with blends.  I dyed some white ribbon with a Dark Soft Sea Foam blend to match the mat.

I stamped a sentiment from the same floral set and used a couple of leftover pieces from the ribbon to accent it.  The pink ink is pretty pale but hopefully the recipient can read it, LOL!

While I had my supplies on my desk, I made another one...considerably brighter! (You may need sunglasses!) This one uses a panel of Petunia Pop and a floral image from Crafty Individuals called Tall Flowers:

Different sentiment, some really old ribbon from my stash, but almost the same!

I am so glad you popped in today and I hope you'll play along with our Atlantic Hearts sketch this week! Our submissions have been really fabulous, so I know you'll want to get your creation in there as well!  Enjoy your day and be blessed!

PP741 A Friend is a Garden

Happy Sunday, peeps! Time for a new Paper Players challenge with Stef as our hostess this week! She chose a very pretty color palette for us to play with:

What a pretty combo!  I pulled out a few retired products and went to work:

I started with a pair of frames from Penny Black, diecut in Soft Sky and Soft Seafoam.  They framed this older sentiment from Cornish Heritage Farms, stamped in Balmy Blue and accented with a Stitched With Whimsy die:

My Petal Pink and Soft Sea Foam flowers were diecut with the retired Pierced Blooms dies, and I sponged some extra color on them to give them a bit of dimension:

Another retired Cornish Heritage Farms sentiment went on the inside:

And since I've used frames, I am going to enter this at the Double D Challenge, which wants us to use frames:

I hope you'll play along with our challenge colors this week! Be sure to stop over at the Paper Players blog to see the delightful creations the design team created!  Thanks for popping in today!  Enjoy your day and be blessed!

FMS689 Sepia Sympathy

Happy Friday, all! I'm a little behind schedule today!  Since John told me I needed to make more sympathy cards, I decided to use the FMS sketch from Cecile to remedy that.  Here it is:

I made my central portion of the card, then realized it was too big to fit on the size card I wanted!  So I opted to make a larger 5" square card!  Here we go:

The scripty portion is from Elements of Text, stamped in Crumb Cake, and the greenery is from the retired Nature's Prints, stamped in Crumb Cake and a wee bit of Pecan Pie:

I added a Crumb Cake mat and a scalloped Pecan Pie mat, as well as a bit of twine and pearls from embellishments.  The sentiment is from Hero Arts.  I did add a few speckles around the edges as well, they're also from Elements of Text.  It feels good to use some of my older retired sets!

Thanks for popping in today!  Enjoy it and be blessed!

RRCB256 Hello Sunshine

Happy Thursday, peeps! I have a fun little card today using the sketch from RetroRubber:

I confess that this sketch did stump me for a while, and I confess that one of the dies I used is new, but my sentiment is from 2022 and all the papers are retired as well!  So here we go:

I've been hoarding this bird paper from Rings of Love (a few years back) so I matched it up with a few patterned DSPs.  I used the Notes & Totes die to create the slats, and the sentiment, stamped on a piece of Country Woods DSP, is from Special Moments (2022).

I like how all the colors work together!

And since I have a bird card, check out what I found in one of my hanging baskets on my porch:

I had seen a couple of purple finches flying around it, so I am assuming they're the ones who built it, but no eggs! I just love how they wound the hanging stuff (I am so bad with plant names) around the outside of the nest!!!  I'll keep you posted if anything else happens!  Thanks for visiting today!  Enjoy it and be blessed!

Butterfly Sympathy

Happy Wednesday, peeps! Yay, we are mid-week!  My friend asked me if I had any sympathy cards she could buy, and my supply was pretty low so I spent a day stocking up! (John told me at our age, I should have a large supply on hand, LOL!  Cheeky guy!)  Anyway, this is one that she didn't take and I was my favorite one, so I thought I'd share it:

This butterfly paper is from Kaiser Craft, and the butterflies have a nice sheen to them.  I just love the vintage look of this particular pattern from the Pen & Ink pad!  I mounted the paper on a mat of Basic Beige on which I had embossed a line of stitching, then adhered it to a Crumb Cake card base.  The little black scallop had been floating around on my craft table, unused from another project, so I added a sentiment from Teeny Tiny Wishes and popped it up on top:

On the inside, a simple sympathy sentiment from the retired Special Moments:

And speaking of a special moment, on the way home from church on Sunday, this little baby ran out in front of us (John had to beep his horn to get her on her way back to momma, who had been right in front of her):

It was certainly the tiniest fawn I have ever seen!  Thanks for visiting today!  Enjoy it and be blessed!

In(k)spire Me #563 Way To Go

Happy Tuesday, all! My card today uses the sketch from In(k)spire Me, and it's a graduation card for a family friend!  First, the sketch:

Here we go:

I heat-embossed a sentiment from the new set called The Right Words, and I am a little disappointed in how it turned out; my embossing powder may be about 20 years old, so maybe I should invest in some new, LOL!  I diecut it and added a Pretty in Pink scallop to match these pretty florals from Wildflower Birthday DSP:

The gold-striped panel is from the same DSP, I just cut a strip and adhered it to the side. I added a few gold leaves and some sparkly ribbon too!  On the inside, I mixed and matched some sentiments:

The young lady graduate just finished nursing school, so she definitely will be on an adventure!

Thanks for visiting today!  And since I haven't posted a picture of Cassidy lately (she's mostly camera-shy these days), I was thrilled when Dana sent me these!  She and Wayne went fishing after youth group on Sunday evening:

A cute little sunnie!  Enjoy your day and be blessed!
