AHSC638 Pretty Florals

Happy Monday, peeps! Time for a new Atlantic Hearts sketch, and what a lovely one it is:

This one came together lickety-split, with the help of some gorgeous papers from Not 2 Shabby:

I mounted everything on a Pecan Pie card base, added a sentiment from the retired Happiness Abounds, stamped in Strawberry Slush, then added a sweet little twine bow:

A cheery, easy-peasy birthday card for someone special next month!  I hope you'll play along with our sketch too--so many possibilities! Be sure to share yours at the Atlantic Hearts blog!

I had two lovely things happen to me on Friday! First, my friend Amy who lives in upstate New York, came down to SE PA to shop at a sweet Amish stamp store, which just happens to be 30 minutes away from me! How fun to meet up! The only downside was we didn't have much time to spend together:

I had to rush home to make dinner for my brother (catfish and he and John caught on their boat trip on Wednesday--yum!) and his girlfriend brought me this gorgeous vase of flowers--again, courtesy of their Amish neighbors:

Two things to make me smile!  Thanks for popping in today!  Enjoy it and be blessed!

PP746 Color Challenge from Ann

Hello, stamping friends! Time for a new Paper Players challenge, and this week, Ann is our lovely hostess with an interesting color challenge:

I will admit that at first glance, this challenge had me stumped! But as I was going through some of my older stamps, I remembered this outline feather from Papertrey, and I thought it would be a perfect element!  Here we go:

I used the sketch from CAS Colours & Sketches:

To begin, I placed the stamp in my stamp positioner, then stamped it with Pretty Peacock ink on a card base of Thick Basic White.  After cleaning the stamp well, I inked it again with Versamark ink and stamped right on top of the Peacock ink.  I heat-embossed it with clear embossing powder, which made it really easy to watercolor in those open areas with Lemon Lolly, Fresh Freesia and a washed-out shade of Pretty Peacock inks using an aquapainter:

I managed to find some sequins in my stash that pretty much matched my colors.  A simple, fun sentiment from the same set finished it off!

What do these colors make you think about? Flowers? Geometric elements? Feathers? LOL!  I hope you'll check out what the DT created over at the Paper Players blog, then share your creativity with us as well!  Thanks for popping in today!  Enjoy it and be blessed!

AYSI352 What Shape Would You Use?

Happy Friday, peeps! Time for a new As You See It challenge....and it's a fun one:

My shape would definitely be a circle and I do have three of them here, although they're a wee bit hidden by the shapes of my sunglasses! I hope that's acceptable to my own team members, LOL!

I had the idea for this card in my head a few days ago, mostly for the Inkspirational challenge of using three of something (I love my threes!), and then when I saw the Sunday Stamps sketch, it just all went together:

My sunglasses are from the Notes & Totes die and I used Coastal Cabana, Granny Apple Green, Pretty in Pink and Basic Black to create them, popping them up on circles diecut with the Stylish Shapes dies:

My background paper is Coastal Cabana DSP, and my little wonky strips are from Spellbinders, Kristina's Finishing Touches.  There's Wink of Stella on the glasses for some extra shine!  Since this is a thank you card for one of my club girls, I used a sentiment from Simply Said directly on to the DSP.

So how about you?  What would be your shape to use on a card? We can't wait to see what shape you choose!  Share your creation with us at the As You See It blog and take a peek at what the other designers created as well!  Thanks for popping in today!  Enjoy it and be blessed!

How About Some Pumpkins?

Happy Wednesday, everyone! Well, my computer bit the dust today---just conked right out, and I am struggling with John's Mac until my new one arrives and gets set up! What an inconvenience! It took me a while just to figure out how to upload a photo!

Anyway, I had some of that shabby ribbon left over from yesterday's card, plus I have been moving around on my desk a stenciled panel I did a month or so ago, so I decided to put them together! It's not even for any challenge  But I must warn you, this fall stencil may make you feel a little cooler, LOL!  It was so cute, I ordered it even though it wasn't the right season!  So here we go:

The stencil is from Spellbinder's September 2024's Club of the Month, called Colorful Pumpkins.  I stenciled it on a Basic Beige panel using Cloud Cover, Pumpkin Pie, Cajun Craze, Coastal Cabana and Early Espresso.  I added a sentiment from Paper Sweeties, stamped on a retired Tailor Made Tag.  I then added my shabby bow and some linen thread I picked up at a yard sale!

It all went on a pretty Cloud Cover base.  Until I get my computer set up, I don't have a way to add the "recipe" so bear with me and if you have any questions, just shoot me an email!  Thanks so much for popping in today!  Enjoy it and be blessed!

HSS467 Shabby Chic Wedding Congrats

Happy Tuesday, all! My niece recently surprised everyone and got married! They'd been engaged for a long time and just decided to get married without any big fuss! (Smart couple!)  Naturally, I had to make them a congratulations card, and the Hand Stamped Sentiments sketch was perfect for what I had in mind.  Here's the sketch:

I haven't done a shabby-chic card for a long time and I really wanted to use some of the pretty vintage papers I had in my stash.  I pulled out a retired SU stamp set called Nature's Prints and went to work:

My card base is Basic Beige, with Very Vanilla accents, and the papers are from PhotoPlay and Kaiser Craft.  (I admit, these are hard colors to photograph!)  I stamped a sentiment from Hero Arts on the scripty piece, then added a sprig from the Nature's Prints, stamped in Basic Beige, as well as some seam binding that I dyed with BB ink, crumpled up and heat set in my microwave!

A sentiment from the same SU set was stamped on the inside, and I also overstamped the same sprig on top of the sentiment, using Versmark ink:

And here's a photo of the couple---they look like they could be fashion models, don't they? We wish them lots of blessings!

Thanks for popping in today!  Enjoy your day and be blessed!

AHSC637 Floral Birthday

Happy Monday, peeps! Time for a new Atlantic Hearts Sketch challenge!  Here we go:

I just got the Floral Charm DSP and although it's a bit of a cheat, I had to use this floral pattern because it was so pretty:

I thought the Blushing Bride cardstock matched the lighter florals, but in hindsight, I would probably use a different color background.  I place the panel in the Mini Corrugated embossing folder (had to run it through once and a little bit more!), then rubbed my Craft White ink pad over the raised ridges. It's hard to see, but it added a nice little contrast.  The Mossy Meadow scalloped panel seemed a little stark, so I stamped some smudes around the edges with the same Craft white ink, then added a simple white ribbon and a sentiment from The Right Words:

This is a really nice, simple, easy sketch, and I hope you'll play along with us as well!  The possibilities are endless!  Check out the other samples at the Atlantic Hearts blog and play along! Thanks for visiting today! Enjoy it and be blessed!

PP745 Lots of Seasonal Circles

Happy Sunday, peeps! Hope your weekend is going along well!  Stef is our Paper Players hostess this special weekend and she has a fun challenge for us:

Fun! I love circles!  And I guess I am on a real Christmas card kick lately---here's another one for you!

This was a pretty easy, CAS card to make---the hardest part was choosing what patterns to put in the little circles!  The die is an older one from CTMH; the papers are all from Echo Park, and most of them were scraps left over from other Christmas cards!  The sentiment is from Our Daily Bread Designs, and I simply added a wee little rhinestone for a big of sparkle!

I carried the circular theme to the inside as well....a few more circles and another sentiment from ODBD:

Since diecutting machines came out, circles are SO MUCH easier to create! I remember a stencil type of doodad with circular lines partially cut into it and you had to use a sharp stylus to trace inside the line to cut your circle....gaaaaah, mine never came out right!  Thanks to the person who invented the Big Shot and dies, right?!  I hope you'll give us lots of circles on your creation this week, and be sure to share it with us at the Paper Players blog!  Thanks for visiting and be blessed!

Happy 4th!

Happy 4th of July everyone!  I am going to share two cards I received for the holiday---they have been "decorating" my piano since I received them and now am going to share them with YOU!

This one is from my friend Karen; the "s" is sparkly, too! :D

And this one is from my friend Wendy! I love how she used that SAB embossing folder--perfect!

Thanks, ladies, for making me feel special!  I hope everyone has a blessed and safe holiday!

Vintage Birthday Wishes

Happy Wednesday, peeps! Trying to squeeze in some stamping time before our holiday celebrations!  I needed several masculine cards (aren't they the most challenging?) and saw a fun sketch from Just Add Ink as well as the birthday challenge from Retro Rubber!

I went WAY back in the archives for some of these products, LOL!  Here's one of the cards I created:

The papers are from an old Basic Gray pad (remember them), and the "birthday" banner is from Time of Year (2016) and the "wishes" is from Holly Jolly Greetings (2015).  The vehicle is from Unity's Consider Yourself Vintage, and I know I've had that for several years:

I didn't want to put a bow on a masculine card, so I diecut a wee little wrench from some copper foil using a die from My Favorite Things....Tool Charms.  It's an oldie too!  The banners and mat are both Basic Black.  I made a few more similar to this for my stash for this month!  Now to get them ready to go out in the mail!  And I just realized this will fit the Krafty Chicks birthday challenge this week too!

Thanks so much for visiting today!  Enjoy it and be blessed!

Tractor Fun

Happy Wednesday, peeps! I have a "just for fun" card today using a new Online Exclusive set that came out yesterday called Tractor & Company!  I usually steer clear of bundles with lots of fussy little pieces because inevitably, I find them too time-consuming, but since I grew up on a farm and have lots of farm-y people in my circle of acquaintances, I thought I'd go for it!  The first card definitely took a while to create, but it was fun:

My dad had Massey-Harris tractors when I was young, so I chose to make my tractor red!  I diecut and stamped all the images and created a little cloud for the sentiment using the retired Basic Borders die.  I also used the diecut edges to sponge some other clouds in the sky:

Cute sentiment, too!  My second one was much simpler; no diecutting, just stamping.  I really messed up my snowflakes, but this one was easy enough that I may just do another one:

I have a couple more ideas for this set, so you'll probably see it again soon!  Thanks for popping in today! Enjoy it and be blessed!

CAS C&S563 You're On My Mind

Happy Tuesday, peeps! Happy July! Hope you're staying cool!  We had quite a busy weekend--2-day yard sale, church, boat ride, recuperation, LOL, so my stamping time was a bit limited! The Clean and Simple Colours & Sketches challenge this week is a sweet little color challenge to get my mojo started again:

I haven't used the set Encircled With Love very much, so I did some stamping in each of the colors, then fussy-cut some of the images and popped them up on an embossed panel for an uber-CAS card:

I did add a tiny scallop mat behind the image, as well as some Wink of Stella to the pink heart and a rhinestone gem to the purple one:

Simple, easy and sweet!  Thanks for popping in today!

AHSC636 Merry Washi

Happy Monday, everyone! Hope you all had a great weekend! Time for another Atlantic Hearts sketch challenge:

Those little horizontal elements reminded me of washi tape, so I went to my little (old) stash and here's what I came up with:

I think because it's been so dang hot, I am longing for cooler temps, and Christmas comes to mind!  This was a fun one to make; I used a double layer of vellum for the circular element so you still see a wee bit of the washi through it, then added a red glimmer diecut sentiment, all on a woven patterned mat and a Crumb Cake card:

And on the inside, another sentiment from the same set I used on yesterday's card!

I can't wait to see what you come up with for this challenge! If you don't have washi tape, I am sure you have some little strips of DSP that would work perfectly!  Share it with us at the Atlantic Hearts challenge blog!  Thanks for visiting today!  Enjoy it and be blessed!

PP744 Layers of Peace

Happy Sunday, peeps! Since it's the fifth Sunday, the Paper Players challenge this week, courtesy of the crafty Jaydee, is a tic-tac-toe board!  Here we go:

I chose the middle column down, since I was perusing some Christmas stamps to use for my "Christmas in July" stamp camp, and I came across an old set that featured a dove:

I recently got some pretty papers from Mintay, so after choosing which pattern to use, I stamped my dove in some matching Boho Blue ink, added a few layers and a strip of glimmer paper, then a layered sentiment (got lots of layers here!):

I even added some Dazzling Diamonds glitter on my dove, as well as a few tiny sequins. It looked a little plain, so I added a little diecut bow.  The inside used sentiments from Iconic Imagery:

I probably won't use this particular layout for my class, but I think the dove is very pretty, so I may keep it in the lineup!

I hope you'll play with our fun tic-tac-toe grid this week and be sure to pop over to the Paper Players blog to see how our talented designers used it as well!  Thanks for visiting today!  Enjoy it and be blessed!
