JUGS800 O Ribbon Tree

Happy Friday! Yay, the weekend is upon us!  The sweet team over at Just Us Girls is celebrating an amazing milestone--800 challenges!  Woohoo! Congratulations, Girls!

Their theme this week is "Anything Goes", so I am sharing a card I made a couple of days ago.  It actually came out the way I envisioned it--amazing! SU has some beautiful silver and blue ribbon right now and I thought it would make a pretty Christmas tree.  Here we go:

I first cut out a panel of thick Basic White with the Textured Notes dies, then cut out a tree using the new Pine Tree Trimmings die.  I backed the opening with the Misty Moonlight Silver-edged ribbon, added a silver diecut star and a sentiment from Pine Tree Trimmings set:

I popped it up on a white card base, added a sentiment from Words for the Season, and it's finished! CAS and cute!

Be sure to stop over at the JUGS blog--some of the designers have giveaways!  That's always fun!

Just have to brag on Cassidy a wee little bit--check out this report card! Woohoo!!

And thanks for popping in today!  Enjoy your day and be blessed!

FMS711 You Make My Heart Smile

Happy Thursday, peeps! A busy day today, so this will be short and sweet! Kim's sketch at FMS is an interesting one:

That is a big circle! My mind immediately went to my Dotted Circles embossing folder, so I combined it with a little wreath from the retired Cottage Wreaths set:

My wreath is stamped in Crumb Cake, and I added some additional leaves in Pecan Pie and some "blueberries" because I had already stamped and embossed my sentiment on some Misty Moonlight cardstock:

After running a piece of Basic White through the embossing folder, I trimmed it out, then mounted it on another embossed piece, this time using Gathering Leaves.  My final addition was a wee bit of twine, tied into a bow, and a few silver pearls.  I left the inside blank, because there are several occasions for which I could use this card, so I'll stamp something when I need it!  Thanks for visiting today!  Enjoy it and be blessed!

"In his disciples' presence Jesus performed many other miracles which are not written down in this book.  But these have been written in order that you may believe that Jesus is the Messiah, the Son of God, and that through your faith in him you may have life."  John 20:30-31

Let It Snow

Happy Tuesday, all! I have a quick little card which is for two challenges!! The 52 Christmas Card Throwdown has a sketch for November, and Addicted to CAS wants to see a snowflake!

I recently got a pretty snowflake embossing folder, and last year at Christmas, I got a set of cute little holiday stencils from Amazon, so I put both to use:

I really wanted to add more layers, but I kept everything pretty simple; the embossed layer went on a Cloud Cover card base.  I stenciled the snowflake with the blue ink that was already on my blending brush--probably Misty Moonlight, but done very lightly!  I did add a Cloud Cover glimmer paper scallop behind it and a wee little sentiment banner, oh, and an iridescent gem:

Another tiny sentiment on the inside, stamped with Lost Lagoon:

Adding slowly but steadily to my Christmas stash!  Thanks for visiting today!  Enjoy your day and be blessed!

So I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the flesh.  For the flesh desires what is contrary to the Spirit, and the Spirit is contrary to the flesh.  They are in conflict with each other, so that you are not to do whatever you want.  Galatians 5:16-17

AHSC654 50th Anniversary

Happy Monday, peeps! Hope you had a nice weekend! We went to a friends' 50th anniversary party at church on Saturday evening...it's hard to believe that I've know this couple since we were in school in the 60s and 70s!!  Anyway, I made them a card using the newest Atlantic Hearts sketch!  Here's the sketch:

I admit that slimline cards like this make me a bit nervous, so I made mine a wee bit shorter; it measures 6" x 3 1/2", and it's not really a tradtional 50th anniversary card in that I didn't use a lot of gold:

I wanted a card to reflect their love of nature and plants as well as the fact that their home and farm is rustic!  I chose some woodgrain paper for my background, then diecut and colored some florals. I just couldn't find diecut leaves that I liked, so I just stamped some directly on the background paper and I liked the subtle effect of that! I added a Crumb Cake tag with some ribbon & gold trim, then added gold pearls:

A couple of oldie stamps on the inside:

We gave them a small bottle of John's homemade wine, so they can celebrate!  Thanks for visiting today!  I hope you'll play along with our Atlantic Hearts sketch this week, so put on your thinking cap and get creative!  Enjoy your day and be blessed!

PP762 Thanksgiving Blessings

Happy Sunday, peeps! I am the hostess at the Paper Players this week and we have a "thankful" theme:

I pulled out a really old set called Gift Givers, because I just love this little turkey:

I stamped the image in Pecan Pie and used some Blends to color him in, then punched him out with a matching punch.  I added frames of leaves and acorns from the retired Thankful Forest Friends and diecut a few leaves to tuck in around the sides.  It all went on some plaid paper that was gifted to me by a friend:

I added another strip of the paper on the inside, a leftover leaf, and a sentiment from Honey Bee:

I hope you can find someone to be thankful for this week and play in our challenge!  Be sure to enter it at the Paper Players blog and while you're there, check out what the DT created as well!  Thanks for visiting today!  Enjoy it and be blessed!

FMS710 Peace on Earth

Happy Saturday, peeps, happy November! The Halloween decorations come down and the Thanksgiving ones go up!  Meanwhile, I'm cranking out Christmas cards, although I am sure I'll be doing some turkey day ones sometime this month!

Linda had a very interesting sketch this week at FMS, and I paired it with the color palette at Hand Stamped Sentiments:

So here we go:

I started with a Pool Party card base, then added a layer of Secret Sea that I embossed with a starry embossing folder.  There was a challenge somewhere that wanted stars but for the life of me, I couldn't find it!  Anyway, I diecut three trees from white glimmer paper and mounted them on my snowy hills and added a wee tiny sentiment stamped in Cherry Cobbler and backed with some Cherry Cobbler glimmer paper.  The final addition were some sweet little Cherry Cobbler cardinals:

I added a simple sentiment on the inside and another Christmas card is added to my stash!  Thanks so much for popping in today!  Enjoy it and be blessed!

AYSI360 You're the Micest!

Happy Friday, all! Happy Halloween! And time for a new As You See It challenge:

What a great theme! So many possibilitiees, right?!  I haven't played with my wee little Harvest Mice from My Favorite Things this season yet, so I got them out and got inky with them:

I stamped this little mouse and his harvest of apples on some watercolor paper and colored them with inks and an aquapainter, them added a diecut fence and some falling leaves, all on a background of some Thoughful Journey DSP:

I added the sentiment and mounted everything on a Cloud Cover card base.  Our local state representative's office recently notarized fourteen documents for me--no charge--so this is going to them along with some fall goodies!

I hope you'll play along with our "harvest" theme too!  Hop on over to the As You See It blog to see what everyone else came up with!  Thanks for popping in today! Enjoy it and be blessed!

CASC&S572 Another Easy Card

Happy Wednesday, everyone! I have another quick Christmas card, courtesy of the lovely sketch from the team at CAS Colours & Sketches:

I was going through some older Christmas DSP and found this gingham print from Toile Tidings, and I thought it would look nice with one of the new Winter Scenes:

I stamped and diecut my little scene, then added "Noel" from Wishing You Joy, and diecut it with an Everyday Arches die.  I created a banner from the plaid, adding a Garden Green mat, then mounted it on a card embossed with some pine trees:

I added some Wink of Stella and a wee little starry sequin to finish it off!

Thanks for popping in today!  Enjoy it and be blessed!

Five-Minute Christmas Card

Happy Tuesday, peeps!  There are a couple of Christmas card challenges out there this week; 52 Christmas Card Throwdown wants a "quick" Christmas card, and Inspire.Create also wants a Christmas card:

I got these beautiful papers from Divinity Designs at the end of last year, and they make for a very quick, beautiful card....I just trimmed them down, mounted them on a card front and stamped a sentiment:

This sentiment, stamped in Mossy Meadow, is from the retired Shine Bright:

The inside sentiment is from the retired Greatest Part of Christmas:

I did add a couple of snowflake sequins for fun, but the whole thing took about five minutes.  It took me longer to unjam my bottle of glue than it did to make the card!  Thanks for popping in today!  Enjoy your day and be blessed!

AHSC653 Christmas Cardinal

Hello, stampers! Time for a new Atlantic Hearts sketch:

When I saw that banner, I immediately thought of  the retired Toile Christmas and that beautiful cardinal and pretty scrolled sentiment!  So here we go:

I stamped Mr. Cardinal in Versafine black ink and watercolored him as well as the greenery.  In hindsight, I am thinking I should have made my oval a little more "stand-out", but sometimes one just needs to leave well-enough alone!

The background paper is from Unity and is mounted on a (retired) Certainly Celery card base.  The inside sentiment is from the same set:

I added a few red sequins and it was done!  Tis the season to ramp up those holiday cards, so this one will go into the stash!  What will you create with our sketch?! We hope to see you in the gallery at Atlantic Hearts!  Thanks for visiting today! Enjoy it and be blessed!

PP761 Boo! Sketch from Joanne

Hello stampers! Time for a new Paper Players challenge, and Joanne has an awesome sketch for us this week!  So much fun!

I have so many Halloween stamps, it's hard to get to all of them but I couldn't let the month go by without using this funny cat and jack:

This image is from 100 Proof Press, stamped on some Basic White in Versafine Black, then watercolored lightly.  I overstamped it with the retired Weathered background stamp to give it an aged look!  The boo is from an old Recollections stamp as well.  My papers are all from Unity, and they complement the vintage look of my scary cat.  A few orange glimmer stars finished it off!  Here's the inside of the card:

Another vintage goodie from Lizzie Anne, adorned with a couple more stars!

This sketch is so versatile, you can use it for lots of occasions! Be sure to stop by the Paper Players blog to see what the designers did with it.  Put on your creative thinking caps then, and share your creation with us!  Thanks for popping in today!

FMS709 Happy Thanksgiving

Happy Thursday, peeps!  I have a fun little Thanksgiving card for you today, using some goodies I recently gifted to myself, LOL!  First, the sketch, which is from Freshly Made Sketches:

Normally, I'd jump on that banner, because I love banners, but I thought a new fence die that I got would be a fun substitute.  Here we go:

The fence is from Gina Marie, and the pumpkin and sentiment are from Honey Bee...so cute!  After diecutting, I did a lot of ink blending on both of them, and I also gave the sentiment a bit of a silhouette with Mossy Meadow cardstock.  The papers are some oldies from Carta Bella, called Fall Break:

Another HB sentiment on the inside:

Thanks for popping in today!

Cassidy had the most amazing-looking donut...my mouth was watering:

I don't even want to think about the calorie count!  Enjoy your day and be blessed!

Christmas in Blue

Happy Wednesday, all! I've got a couple of Christmas cards to show you from a recent stamp camp, and they feature some new holiday products:

The above card features sentiments and greenery from Seasonal Tags and it uses Peaceful Garden DSP, Secret Sea cardstock, Peaceful Garden Glimmer paper, and Secret Sea and Cloud Cover inks.

This card uses the new Wishing You Joy and Winter Scenes, both stamped in Misty Moonlight.  The scene was stamped on a Perennial Postage diecut and sponged with some Memento London Fog ink using a rectangle stencil.  The blue paper is some retired Close to My Heart (I think it's Lagoon), and embossed with a retired Softly Falling embossing folder:

A wee piece of Cloud Cover ribbon and a sweet little pearl finished it off!  Thanks for popping in today!

On one of their forays in Minneapolis, the kids went past a home whose owner is a big Game of Thrones fan.  The guy created his own "throne" and allows visitors to have their pictures taken sitting on it!  Here's Wayne, complete with crown and sword:

I can honestly say I have never watched anything vaguely related to Game of Thrones, so I can't vouch for the authenticity of any of this, LOL!  But it looks pretty amazing to me!

Enjoy your day and be blessed!
