CAS Sympathy

DSCF6707

Happy Wednesday, peeps!  I am late today---I had stamp camp last night where we made some nice Christmas cards, and this morning was so refreshingly cool that I relaxed a bit!  It’s a welcome relief from the hot, humid weather we’ve been having!

I needed two sympathy cards this week….I had a couple of ideas in mind and then I got my SU order with my holiday mini items, so I broke open Magnificent Maple and made a one-layer card:

LeAnne Pugliese Magnificent Maple

Again, this is one of those cards that looks so much better in real life!  I embossed the leaf with Versamark and gold embossing powder, which makes it eligible for the CASology 54 challenge, which is “gold”; I added some twine around the stem, which qualifies it for the CAS on Sunday challenge, which is kraft and twine.  After embossing it, I made a mask and stamped the French words from Nature Walk and did some sponging, then stamped the words from Blessings from Heaven.

I have received several nice cards in the mail recently and I thought I’d share one a day with you!  This one came a while back, but I don’t think I shared it; it’s from my friend Teri:

Even if I did share it, it’s worth sharing again!  I love this color combo and this is one of my favorite vintage SU stamps!

Finally, Cassidy spent some time playing with her dolls and some chalk; thankfully the chalk washes off easily because she was covering every available doll surface with purple—even her scalp!

ColourQ199

DSCF6643

Happy Tuesday, peeps!  It’s time for another cool color inspiration from Arielle at ColourQ:

Isn’t this gorgeous?  I would not have room for this in my house—doesn’t match my décor—but luckily I can play with the colors on my card!!!

LeAnne Pugliese _CQC199 Pink Paislee Bird

I saw a wonderful card this weekend by Deb Fearns and I set out to replicate her hexagon treatment!  I just loved it!  I inked up the raised portion of my hexagon embossing folder and “stamped” my card stock.  Worked like a charm!  What a cool idea!  Thanks, Deb!  I added a little tag with some collage-style stamping and a raised bird diecut:

I am also entering this in the “Tie it On” challenge at the Kraft Journal this week!  I can’t wait to see what you create with these pretty colors and inspiration.  Share them with us at the ColourQ blog!  Have fun!

More Merry Monday!

DSCF6641

Happy Monday, peeps!  Hope you had a fabulous weekend!  It finally cooled off a bit and it was refreshing to NOT hear my A/C running 24/7!!!  We are almost through July---can you believe it?----and we are still having the “Anything Goes” challenge at Merry Monday!

I saw a lovely challenge at Festive Friday as well, using pink, white and silver:

So here we go:

Merry Monday LeAnne Artistic Outpost Frosty & Friends

I am a wee bit disappointed at the photograph; it really doesn’t capture how cute and sparkly this card is IRL!  The mat and holly leaves are brushed silver cardstock, not flat gray, and the glimmer paper mat and Dazzling Diamonds glitter REALLY shimmer…..so you’ll just have to take my word for it, okay?   Here’s a little better closeup:

DSCF6640

I stamped my sweet wee girl in Smoky Slate and just colored her cheeks and background with some Copics, then mounted her behind a photo frame, cutting out the top of her hat to go over the frame.  She is a cutie, isn’t she?  The sentiment was stamped in Versamark and embossed with silver embossing powder for some additional shine!

I hope you’ll play along with us this week….the submissions so far have been fabulous!  It’s a wee bit overwhelming…I don’t think I have been able to comment on too many, so hopefully I’ll get over there and leave some love real soon!  You can check them out yourself at Always Playing with Paper…you’ll be sure to be inspired!!

A little Delaware shore sun & fun time for Miss Cassidy (in pink as well!) this weekend:

Paper Players 154

DSCF6484

Happy Sunday, peeps! I hope you are having a great weekend, and everyone returning from convention had a great time!  Today, Jaydee has a great sketch for the Paper Players and for YOU:

Woohoo, I love this……a great way to use some beautiful DPs!  I chose to use the balloons from Birthday Basics, because I hadn’t used it yet and I love all those fun colors!  Alas, I had no birthday cake stamp, so I went to My Digital Studio for some help!

Paper Players 154 LeAnne Pugliese MDS Cake and Ice Cream

The Cake and Ice Cream brush set that came with my MDS had a fun cake and party hats, so I printed out the cake in Raspberry Ripple, and the hats in Bermuda Bay and Gumball Green:

DSCF6487

Of course, I had to add some “flame” and sparkle to the cake, hats  and candles!  And a quick little ribbon accent to my sentiment flag!  There is a wee bit of stamping…the sentiment is from the retired set, Happiest Birthday Wishes!  I am happy to add this to my birthday card stash, as it is always being depleted!

So now, it’s your turn to play with the sketch and share it with us at the Paper Players as well!  I think I see a few more cards using this sketch in my future!  Can’t wait to see what you create with it!

FMS95

DSCF6620

Happy Saturday, peeps!  Just popping in with a quick card for the Freshly Made Sketches sketch this week:

A special friend gifted me with some vintage goodies, and there was a little package of beautiful vintage tiles….one of which worked perfectly with these pretty MME papers:

LeAnne Pugliese FMS95

Here’s a close view of the tile; they’re all different; this one is two friends sitting together:

DSCF6621

I stamped the half-doily from the retired set, Kindness Matters, four times to make the base for the tile; the sentiment is from PTI.  I almost forgot that SU now has seam binding in Soft Sky----I’m in heaven!!---so I used that to make a little shabby bow! Sweetness!

Just hanging out on the porch, doing a little chalk art!!!

PPA164 & CC1

DSCF6597
Ah, it’s Friday---finally!  I spent yesterday chasing after the wee one, swimming in the kiddie pool, and making pickles!  I barely got in enough time to stamp, but I did manage to make one card!  It’s for the Pals Paper Arts sketch challenge 164:
PPA164
as well as the new inspiration challenge from Stacey’s Curtain Call:

There was so much to choose from in the inspiration photo, but I stuck to a “natural” nautical theme and I got to use some new diecuts!!!
LeAnne Pugliese PPA164 CC1 Nautical
The sentiment is from a retired SU set called Winds of Grace; the DP is retired from last year.  I hope it’s okay that I used the knot on the paper as my third banner!!!

This will be a great masculine birthday card and I know just to whom it will go!

This week Cassidy had her first dental appointment!  A wee bit apprehensive at first:

Polka Dotted PP153

DSCF6477

Hey peeps!  We’re half-way through the week!  I know lots of you are going to the SU Convention….can’t wait to see all the fun stuff that will be happening!!!  I’ll be back here in PA, holding down the fort……LOL!
Anyway, in my Paper Players post on Sunday, I showed you how you could use the Six-Sided Sampler polka dot image and a circle punch to create a….polka dotted circle!  There was a polka dot challenge out in the blog world somewhere, and that was my original intent for making this card, but I didn’t write it down and can’t find it now.  But the card is still cute…kinda silly, but I wanted to use up all the circles I had punched out:

PP153 LeAnne Pugliese Animal Talk

Cassidy has a Baby Einstein DVD she used to watch all the time, and there was a little puppy who could hear a rumbling sound in the background….he cocked his ear and waited….and bam!  I whole load of multi-colored balls fell on his head!  Cassidy knew what was coming and she would get so excited because she knew that little pup was going to be conked on the head!  Anyway, that’s what this card reminds me of…..a puppy so excited he can’t figure out which ball to play with first!  I stamped him in Baked Brown Sugar and then colored him in with a blender pen and popped him up:

DSCF6478

And of course, I had to add some bouncing balls on the inside too:

DSCF6479

Like I said, a silly card, but kids love silly cards, so this will probably go to one of my nephews!
