Happy Sunday, peeps! Thank you to all who commented on my shingles dilemma....I am still in the throes of it, but faring well. The most frustrating part is that the worst areas are on my right hand, and of course, I am right-handed! I can still do most things, but I do have to ask John to open things for me because I just can't grasp enough to do that! But I am managing the rest of it okay!
Today Claire has our Paper Players challenge, and it's always a fun one! I am sure you can come up with some sweet ideas....I like the scrabble tiles Nance used for our inspiration photo--that would be a cool theme!
If you're like me, you take lots of photos and they sit on your phone or in your photo program and nothing ever gets done with them! So I printed out a small one from the first day of school, and I made a little photo frame for Dana to sit on her desk. So here we go:
The chalkboard portion is made from some retired SU chalk paper from a couple years back; the wooden "frame" is from the Wood Textures DSP stack; these cute little puffy embellishments I have had forever and were perfect for the theme; and the vertical Wild Wasabi piece was embossed with a cute little Darice ruler folder:
The sentiments are from a really "vintage" Cornish Heritage Farms set, I believe it was from around 2007 or 2008, called Making the Grade, stamped in white craft ink:
And I mounted the whole shebang on a piece of cardboard backing from a pack of DSP, and I cut an easel using a Tim Holtz Small Easel die:
For my layout, I used the Freshly Made Sketches sketch #303, and since my stamps were from 2008, I am entering this at the Retro Rubber Challenge #70!
I hope you'll play along with us this week and share your creations at the Paper Players blog! We can't wait to see them! And be sure to check out the designers' creations as well!
Speaking of back to school, one morning while waiting for the bus, Cassidy found a slug on a piece of fungus growing on the back of one of our pine trees, so everybody had to look at it, even little Jackie:
They even found a baby one! Despite it's "slug-ness", it is kinda cute!
Enjoy your day and be blessed!

What a lovely keepsake LAnne! Too few of us print off our photos these days and your project today shows just why we should. Love the ruler and cute felt embellishments - they bring the theme of your frame together beautifully and show off that lovely photo of Cassidy perfectly. Great take on the sketch too - this one had me foxed! Have a great day xx
Great project
I love everything about this! You have a fabulous stash of goodies at your house! Get better soon!!!
LeAnne, I love that you were able to find some wonderful treasures in your stash to create this. They all come together so beautifully and those little puffy elements are the perfect finishing touch. What a great photo of Cassidy, too.
Now... Shingles.... oh, man! Get better soon, my friend and rest.
hugs

Another WOW project..my teammates out did themselves with this challenge! From blog to blog...what awesome ideas I'm seeing. This is SO adorable!
Not too excited about the slug...lol! I can imagine how the kids enjoyed it though! I could tell some stories about what kids brought for show and tell when I was working in Kindergarten. I do miss those days!
So sorry about the dreaded shingles. My son had them a few years ago..he's a pharmacist and insisted I get the vaccination. I'm not sure that is fool proof, but I'm hoping! It is not a fun thing I can see. Hope you get better fast!!!
Have a great week!
What a fantastic back to school theme! I'm always a little in awe of the things you dig up for your cards. How you can keep track of supplies you've got from years ago is so impressive! :)
What a great keepsake for Cassidy! My grown girls still like to look back in their scrapbooks! The puffy accents and the slate easel are awesome! I hope those shingles heal quickly! The right hand would be the worst place for a right-handed papercrafter to get them, too!
Omg , 2nd grade , where did the time gooooooooo, she's so BEAUITFUL, thank you for sharing her all these years , we really enjoyed seeing her grow , thanks again , hugs and more HIGS ,

LeAnne, I love this precious school picture frame! I know your daughter was thrilled to receive it! The woodgrain is perfect for the background and those puffy school items are fantastic! Sure hope you are feeling much better! Lots of prayers! XX
Wow, what a terrific project, LeAnne! Love the chalkboard paper and the adorable embellishments, but of course Miss Cassidy steals the show! As for the slug... sorry, not so cute lol!
