Happy Monday, peeps! I snuck in a little stamping time yesterday as I knew I had a funeral today and wouldn’t have time. I lost track of my Christmas card postings, so when I saw the Our Creative Corner Challenge (faces) and the Jingle Belles challenge (softly falling snow), I knew I could combine them for a fun little retro card:
Plus, my CQC teammate Noelle is hosting the Jingle Belles!! So I just had to play! Edited to add: I obviously did not read the challenge ALL THE WAY---I was to use something SOFT on my card---ooops! I will have to withdraw!!
It’s all Stephanie’s fault that I fell in love with these vintage Christmas images when I saw her card here. The only problem is that I don’t know quite whether to stamp them in black and try to color them in, or stamp them in a single color! I opted to stamp my little holiday miss in Baja Breeze, and added some Pink Pirouette for her cheeks. I then stamped the holly in Wild Wasabi and cut it out, glued it over the original, adding some pink pearls to match her cheeks:
Isn’t she sweet? To give her a bit of “grounding” so it didn’t seem as if she was just floating on the page, I stamped the image first in Wild Wasabi on my glittery Christmas paper from My Mind’s Eye, and then mounted my cut-out image a little offset. A greeting from the same set, a little pink ribbon and a snowflake-punched edge finished it off. Oh, and of course, lots of snowy glitter, too!
Wee Details:
- Stamps: Frosty & Friends, Artistic Outpost
- Paper: Pink Pirouette, Whisper White, Christmas Pad, My Mind’s Eye
- Ink: Wild Wasabi, Baja Breeze, Pink Pirouette
- Acc: Blender Pen, Pearls, Pink Sharpie, Dazzling Diamonds Glitter, Pink Taffeta Ribbon, MS Snowflake Border Punch
Dana and I attended a party on Friday night and the hostess wanted us to bring Cassidy (big mistake!). Here are my attempts to capture her in her Halloween finery:
Every bat girl needs her milk, right?!
I’ll just rearrange these for you!
Okay, I’ll play with my own toys!!!
Thanks for visiting today!
Wonderful vintage card. It look soft. I think it should still work.
ReplyDeleteI'll bet Cassidy stoled the show! So adorable. I love the last picture were she is smiling and looking over her shoulder. Sooo very cute.

Oh, that card is so cute! Looks like Cassidy posed for that stamp image! She gets cuter everyday!
ReplyDeleteLeanne, I love the little girl so much I ordered her too when you posted the Santa Claus card. I went to Artistic Outpost and in return for my card budget I got a lot of nice stamps. I was pondering the same thing about how to stamp the vintage images,Baja Breeze didn't cross my mind but clearly it works very well. Your card is beautiful. I ordered the covered bridges and the Santa walking with the Robert Frost poem. Those I got unmounted, yikes!Well I look forward to seeing Frosty!
