IB174 Oran-Generous Friend

Hey peeps! Hope your week is going well so far!  It's time for a new Inspired By challenge, what a cutie this one is:

And here's our optional sketch, which I did use!

Once again, I find myself lacking ANY citrusy fruit stamps, so I went searching through my retired stash and found a shape that could sort of fit the bill; it was a solid image from Swirly Bird:

As a rule I don't go for these sort of abstract designs but I admit that I really had fun creating this!!!  I stamped the three "fruits" in Pale Papaya and Daffodil Delight and added a sweet little leaf from a Stamp Market set:

I added some speckles with a white gel pen and a few little sequins, then stamped a sentiment in Memento Black.  For fun, I embossed the edge with a Stitched With Whimsy outline die.  Love the extra little design element it gives!

Our design team created some amazing things with this inspiration photo....be sure to go check them out at the Inspired By blog, and while you're there, add yours to the mix!  Can't wait to see what you create!

I had a few visitors to my back yard a day or so ago:

They were taken through the screen, but they're still beautiful!  Thanks for visiting today!  Enjoy your day and be blessed!

  1. I think you found the perfect shape in your stash, LeAnne! I always am impressed when a crafter 'makes do' with what she has - you, my friend, have done so perfectly!
Now you have me wondering about the Swirly Bird - was it a bird?
Darling deer - don't you love Nature?

  2. Great idea for this Card! May have to steal that!
I too have visitors like this coming through my back, side and front yard.
I'm a route for the deer to get to the woods.
I honestly believe they bed down
in the thickly overgrown lot beside me!
They seem to walk out of there, feast in my yard,
and then go on their way, eating as they go!
They cross the street and into the forest on the other side.
    Love to see them too!

  6. I think your make-shift fruit are perfect! At first glance I knew right away they were oranges and a lemon! And what an uplifting sentiment! Your backyard visitors are so beautiful. I recently put up a wildlife camera in my back yard and I'm amazed at how many visitors I have. Nature is a wonderful thing. :)

  7. I think you and I were channeling each other this week by stepping outside of our usual zone! This is marvelous, Leanne and so is that sentiment!

  8. LeAnne, I absolutely love the stylistic oranges you made with the swirly bird stamp and these leaves! And that sentiment is fabulous with it too as are those gorgeous coordinating sequins! I love how all of nature seems to come out in the spring. Lovely to see the deer. Vicky x
