Hi stampers! Happy Sunday! It's Paper Players time and the lovely Ann is our hostess with a fabulous color challenge:
These are beautiful colors together, but sometimes, I just don't have papers or elements combining all three, so when I am faced with that dilemma, I choose one main element and reproduce it in all three colors! In this case, I diecut the little embossed feather from the Nature's Thoughts dies in each of the challenge colors:
I kept the rest of the card really simple, mounting each feather on a stitched scallop panel, mounting them on a Coastal Weave embossed and stitched panel, and mounting all of that on a simple white card base. For my neutral, other than white, I stamped a sentiment from Itty Bitty Greetings in Blackberry Bliss on a scrap of Crumb Cake and added some Linen Thread to each of the feathers' stems:
This could be used as a get well or sympathy card, or just for someone who's going through a rough patch!
How will you use these colors? Be sure to stop by the Paper Players blog to see what the other designers did with these colors, and share your creation with us as well! Can't wait to see it!!
Just for fun, John left three ears of really old cow corn on our patio table....this is the only one left, we think a raccoon got the other ones. Every morning this little squirrel comes to visit:
He just cracks us up with his quick little chewing motions!
Thanks for popping in today...enjoy it and be blessed!
"He whose walk is upright fears the Lord, but he whose ways are devious despises him."
Proverbs 14:2

ReplyDeleteLovelyl CAS card. That was one of my fave EF's. They may be rodents but they're so darn cute. Have a blessed day.
ReplyDeleteThese feathers really pop against all that white, LeAnne! Love that embossed background!
ReplyDeleteI almost went the route you took with your card and reproduced one image...and now that I see yours I kinda wish I would have gone with my first thought. Love the cleanness of this design and the way each feather is framed against that awesome embossed background! Truly inspiring card!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful! The feathers are so peaceful on that wonderful textured background! Have a great week!
ReplyDeleteThat EF is one of my faves! The feathers are great with it!
ReplyDeleteThis is a brilliant use of the challenge colors and I love how this turned out! The embossed background and little twists of gold around the feathers is a beautiful combination! Cute squirrel outside on your table, but we stopped leaving food out for them years ago as they'd stand against our patio door begging to come in for more LOL
ReplyDeleteGreat plan for using colors...love how it turned out with the feathers. I love white and the colors really pop with it. Cute squirrel!! So fun to watch the lil critters..we have a bunny that is living under our deck I love to watch too. Have a great day!

ReplyDeletewonderful texture with your embossed background LeAnne - the feathers are so pretty in these colors too! What fun to have the squirrel come each day to eat some more corn!
ReplyDeleteOK.... first... the CARD. CAS PERFECTION. So much wonderful texture and yet such fabulous clean lines. Honestly, LeAnne, you move from CAS to multi-layered and everything in between with such ease. Now... your squirrel.... LOVE him. I have a video recommendation for you. I am always astonished with how incredibly smart these guys are and I saw this video from a NASA engineer and it was so worth my 20 minutes of watching. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hFZFjoX2cGg
