PP479 A SAB Sketch

Hi peeps!   I am the hostess at the Paper Players this week and I've got a sweet little sketch for you!

I confess that my card today is an almost CASE of this pretty card made by Michelle Last; you can see it here.  I chose the same papers and stamp set, both available during Sale-a-bration, but changed up the colors a wee bit and of course, used the sketch:

I began with some Melon Mambo ink and cardstock and layered some Golden Honey Specialty DSP on top.  I already had a scalloped panel cut and unused from another project, so I layered that on top, then added a sentiment from Accented Blooms, punched out with the Tailored Punch.

I stamped the flowers from Thoughtful Blooms in Melon Mambo as well; the larger blossom was stamped off first to create a lighter color, then the smaller blossom on top in full-strength ink.  I added some rhinestones that I colored with a Black Blend, and added some Granny Apple Green leaves.  My final embellishment was a little lattice diecut from the Nature's Thoughts dies.  I really wanted to add some extra stamping or embellishment on the white panel, but John said it looked better plain, so I went with his decision!

I hope you'll stop by the Paper Players blog and see what fun creations the DT made with my sketch!  Share yours as well!

While we were at Sandy Cove last weekend, we did an Escape Room...well, the others did the escape room, I was totally lost!  This picture pretty much sums it up:

Ask me to do a crossword puzzle, and I'm your gal....but this was a little beyond me!  But after seeing how it works, I think if I were to do another one, I might have a better idea about it!!  Enjoy your day and be blessed!

  1. Love your beautiful card with those pretty little blooms. John is right, the white panel looks better plain with the other elements. Love your sketch too. Have a blessed day.

  2. LeAnne your card has skipped Spring, and gone right into Summertime with this beauty! LOve the Mambo with the black!
We've done one escape room with two of our grands - we'd have been lost without Tom, I admit it - but it was helpful to have all four brains, and how differently we each think!

  3. LeAnne, I love these gorgeous colors. the black and white with the pink and green are just bold and beautiful. fabulous take on the sketch. I must admit, I had to go and google "escape room". Sounds like a lot of fun and great for team building.

  6. This is such a pretty card LeAnne for your fun sketch this week! I love the contrast of black and white panels with the bright pink flowers and I agree with John - leaving the central panel white gives your design great impact. Love that escape room picture! As someone who has done 4 of these now, the first one was definitely the most confusing - you get into a groove when you do another one! I think they are great fun if you're a puzzler - I love crosswords and Scrabble too! You should maybe take Cassidy with you next time - we have done them as a family and I think a good spread of ages really helps, sometimes the youngest members are the ones that get it first!!

  9. Fun sketch! I love the pretty pink blooms.

My kids love to do escape rooms and are pretty good at it.

I bought the board game "Escape Rooms" to just play at home and couldn't even figure out how to play it...LOL! Gave it to them to figure out!

  12. As soon as I saw your card, I said "OOOOHHH, this is fabulous!" The pop of bright pink on the black and white is (obviously) on of my favorite combos. Haha! Loved this sketch, too. It's going into the "favorites" file. Your card is gorgeous, my friend! Thanks for a fun challenge.
