HSS329 Retro Kitchen

Happy Tuesday, peeps!  You can tell in blogland that the posts are more sparse as people are busy doing all their holiday preparations!  I know I have less stamping time!  So when I saw the Hand Stamped Sentiments sketch:

and I needed a quick birthday card, I went to my stash of 6x6 pads and came up with fun retro kitchen pattern from Carta Bella:

I love it when the paper does all the work!  There's only one little bit of stamping on the outside--the sentiment from Itty Bitty Birthdays--everything else is patterned paper from the pad.  Aren't these images cute?

I stamped the sentiment in Bermuda Bay and diecut it with a Stitched Rectangle die, then popped it up:

I did a little extra-special stamping on the inside with a sentiment from Perennial Birthday, stamped in Flirty Flamingo and matted with a scalloped Bermuda Bay oval:

Thanks for popping in today!

The Elfdon saga continues!  The company for which John does some part-time work had their Christmas party recently and they give out a lot of gag gifts; one of mine was some Warheads candy.  They are very sour and I certainly won't eat them, so I gave them to "Elfdon" to put in Cassidy's Advent calendar.  Needless to say, Cassidy doesn't like them either.  Here's the note she wrote to Elfdon:

She was quite polite but she told Elfdon she didn't like that type of candy.  Elfdon came back with a very good rebuttal, and Cassidy conceded!!! I love her little smiley face!  And of course the gigantic heart!  Enjoy your day and be blessed!

  2. What a fun birthday card, and I too love it when the paper does all the work for you! I am just LOVING this correspondence between Cassidy and Elfdon! It's just precious and such a treasure to hold onto through the years! I love her kindness and loving nature in describing her dislike for the warheads LOL The little smiley face is adorable too:)
