A Double Dose of Peace

Hi everyone!  I am late, late, late today so I'll make this quick!  I played around yesterday with some of my hoarded stash of paper!   There's not even any stamping on the front of these, something out of the norm for me, at least for a Christmas card, anyway!  The challenge at Jingle Belles is "Give Peace a Chance", so I got out my "peace" diecut from Papertrey and started to play:

For my first card, I cut the "peace" out of a piece of Illustrated Faith paper (CHRISTmas line) and backed the opening with a piece of Dazzling Diamonds glimmer paper...too bad you can't see the sparkle in the photo:

Using a Lil'Inker bell die, I cut the bell from another scrap of DD Glimmer paper and backed it with a circle of Cherry Cobbler carstock, then added some Merry Merlot ribbon from the current Holiday Catalog:

Of course, I still had the "peace" diecut left over, so I mounted it on a piece of Whisper White cardstock that I embossed with the retired Pine Bough embossing folder.  I mistakenly embossed it on the wrong side of a "recycled" piece of Whisper White, but I decided to use it anyway!  I added the peace diecut, a "love" diecut from Simon Says Stamp, and the "joy" is from SU's Celebrate You thinlets:

I saw this tip in blogland somewhere, and I cannot remember to whom to give the credit, sorry...it's not my idea!  But if you diecut the word "you", flip it over and trim off part of the "U", it becomes "joy"!!  CLEVER!

My colors are Poppy Parade and Tranquil Tide, mounted on a Poppy Parade card base!  These are pretty CAS, the fussiest part is adhering the inner parts of the "peace" to the glimmer cardstock, LOL!

No Cassidy pictures, but I thought I would share some nature pics from my morning walks...just a warning, it's gray, damp and dreary here...no blue skies or sunshine!  It's so damp, we have mushrooms growing along our new patio:

This spiderweb stayed intact despite a drive down a long driveway:

This healthy grasshopper doesn't seem to mind the weather at all!

But my poor zinnias have been beaten down by the heavy rains....except for that one in the center; it's hard to tell, but it's about 5' tall!

I am standing in front of it....I'm not holding it, that's how tall it is!

Enjoy your day and be blessed!
