Hi everyone! It's my second week as a CAS Colours & Sketches guest designer, and the challenge this week is a lovely sketch!
I am slowly incorporating some of the new SU colors into my cards, and today I am featuring Highland Heather and Gray Granite, so here we go:
I used Highland Heather to stamp the florals and background from Touches of Texture, then added some leafy images from Rooted in Nature in Gray Granite, stamped off. Gray Granite is a very intense color, which surprised me, but stamping off creates a nice little shadow effect that doesn't overpower! I stamped and embossed a sentiment from Rooted in Nature in white on a piece of Gray Granite cardstock and fussy-cut it out to layer over a banner of Silver Foil (hard to see), some Polka-dotted ribbon and a coil of Silver Thread:
It all went on a card base of Highland Heather to finish it off. I usually shy away from purples, but this one is very pretty and in small doses, like on a clean-and-simple card, it's just delightful!
I hope you will play along with the CAS Colours & Sketches sketch challenge this week....remember to keep it CAS! And be sure to check out the blog to see what the others created as well!
I was mowing the other day and stopped the mower for a moment, when I saw some movement in the grass at my feet:
Isn't this the tiniest little thing you've ever seen? I am pretty sure it is a toad, but I can't find the proper name of it, and it was so small, I kept picking up pieces of grass along with it! I took a couple pix and then put it back so it could hop away to its little habitat in the yard!
Isn't God's creation wonderful! Enjoy your day and be blessed!
Love the purple florals with gray leaves, LeAnne! Thanks for guest designing at CAS Colours & Sketches and sharing the tiny toad you've found. Hugs~Wei

Sweet card, LeAnne! I'm not really a purple lover but I've been using the new ones and finding myself liking them. Highland Heather is pretty paired with Gray Granite on your card. I love the touch of Tulle ribbon too!
