Happy Wednesday, peeps! I haven't gotten much stamping time in over the past few days, so I sat down in my craft room late last night and squeaked out a birthday card using the Global Design Project's colors:
I just finished cutting all my paper for my latest paper share and this particular pattern from the Just Add Color DSP called to me....I love those feathers! I colored each one loosely with ink and an aquapainter; the paper really isn't made for watercoloring, it doesn't blend that well, but I still liked the effect it gave:
Before embossing the right front with the Softly Falling EF, I stamped a sentiment from Beautiful Bouquet in Berry Burst:
I cut the curved edge freehand, and simply used the edge as a pattern to cut the Lemon Lime Twist mat as well:
The final touch was a little bit of Soft Sky ribbon....it's close enough to Pool Party to work! I love these colors together! I hope the recipient does too!
We did our annual blueberry-picking on Monday....we didn't get any last year, as the birds got them all, but there were plenty of gorgeous berries for us this year! We normally get about 40 pounds, but we only picked 24 this time. Cassidy was a big help....for about 15 minutes! I asked her how many berries she had picked, she looked down in her bucket and said "Eleven...."!!!! I think she ate more than she picked, LOL!
Enjoy your day and be blessed!

Picking blueberries is hard work! Making this beautiful card was too...you did an exceptional nice job with the free-hand curve.
ReplyDeleteLove those feathers and they look great in those gorgeous bright colors! Have a great day, LeAnne!
ReplyDeleteSuch a pretty card, LeAnne! Love how you colored the feathers in different shades and the curved panel was just brilliant! The Soft Sky ribbon & embossed back panel complete this beautifully! Oh how I remember the days of picking strawberries. I enjoyed it until I hurt my back. The weather has been beautiful for picking the last few days!
ReplyDeleteI guess the early bird gets the blueberries sometimes. Glad you got your share this time. What a blessing to have your own bushes for the picking!
ReplyDeleteFeathers are perfect for these colors and yours look so pretty. Love your curved edge too with that little peek of Lemon Lime Twist! LL Twist would look good with those blueberries too!
ReplyDeleteWhat a delightful card LeAnne!! I really like the colors you combined and the pretty feathers. Eleven blueberries LOL!! I think Penelope's bucket would be empty. That baby girl LOVES fruit!!
