Happy Sunday, peeps! I hope you're having a great weekend so far! Our creative British teamie Joanne is the hostess today for the Paper Players with a beautiful color challenge! Check it out:
These should get your creative juices flowing! I first thought of flowers, but the rebel in me decided to go a different route! I have had this embossed cloud panel kicking around on my desk for a while, so I thought a little scene was in order. I am not too good at making scenes, but this one was simple enough even for me:
I loosely watercolored the area around the clouds with an aquapainter and Soft Sky ink, which is always tricky, considering regular Whisper White cardstock doesn't usually take to watercoloring very well...but it was good enough! I stamped the little kitten, butterfly and bird from a retired SU set called Touch of Kindness in Stazon Black, watercolored them and fussy-cut them out, popping them up with dimensionals:
My grass is some Mossy Meadow cardstock, diecut with Lawn Fawn's Stitched Hillside Borders; and my final touch is some twill ribbon and some dry embossing on the lower portion of the card. My sketch is from Tuesday Morning Sketches:
Hope you can play along with us this week with these lovely colors! Check out what the design team did as well:
And then, on Saturday, we had this:
I know a lot of readers in the northeast US had similar views out their windows! COME ON, WARM WEATHER!!!
What can I say LeAnne - I just adore your little scene and am so pleased you braved the non-floral route with today's colours! Perfect! Great bird photo but snow?! I'm with you wishing for warmer weather! A great take on my colour challenge this week.
ReplyDeleteHello sweet Kitty! This is adorable! Perfect scene!
ReplyDeleteLove the way you think you rebel!! The scene you created is adorable and I love your design. The embossed swiss dots are a perfect compliment to the fun clouds! Sure is sad to see the spring blooms covered in snow. I agree, come on warm weather!
ReplyDeleteThat's a cute scene! I like how you colored the sky, and that cat is adorable, too. We have had cooler weather, but no snow this weekend anyway!
ReplyDeleteI love this card! Cute image and the embossing is wonderful!! (I think the snow is beautiful... we didn't get enough this winter for my taste. ;) )
ReplyDeleteThanks for playing along this week at Tuesday Morning Sketches!!

Such a great use of the colors. This is my second yr living in TX. Must say I would not want to change places but do miss the snow...just not enough to move back to Il. My 7yr old gs is happy to have me near.Darlene.
ReplyDeleteI love your card! I am a cat lady and this is such a cute one. Kudos for the fussy cutting (I am just terrible at it). We got home about a week ago and so far no snow. Hopefully my daffodils will be done before we get any (or hopefully we won't even get any). Slowly but surely I am getting caught up on blog reading and yours is always one of the first I go to. ~chris
ReplyDeleteSuch an adorable little scene, LeAnne! Love the soft sky cloudy background and the sweet little kitty. A perfect balance of the colors with the tiny melon mambo butterflies. Love it!

ReplyDeleteLeAnne, this is so sweet! Your little scene is adorable! Love you kitty and all the embossing! Those little butterflies are precious! XX
ReplyDeleteI love your orange kitty! This card makes me want to get out my set out and do something with it. I like the cloud EF background too. A very cute card!
ReplyDeleteLeAnne, jealous of your thrasher... not jealous of the snow! I am obsessed with how cute and adorable this card is. I love how you colored the sky and left the clouds fluffy and white - and stamping the hello in the cloud was a stroke of genius. fabulous card
