Hi everyone! I have two cards today....one for a boy and one for a girl! Cassidy does not like orange--she says it is a "boy" color, although she is more tolerant of it than she used to be, LOL! Anyway, I was going through some of my DSP scraps, and found some that I thought would work well with this week's Try Stampin' on Tuesday sketch:
My friend Teri recently gifted me with this little skateboard stamp, and I paper-pieced it, used a sentiment from the Hello Sunshine Paper Pumpkin kit, then stamped a few little stars, and it was done:
I am also entering this in Little Red Wagon's Mainly Manly challenge!
My girl card is a baby shower card for a friend of Dana's....not a traditional color for a little girl, but I wanted to use Linda's sketch from Freshly Made Sketches:
I am trying to use some of my older supplies, and both of these embossing folders were some of the very first I purchased when I got my Cuttlebug! I thought they were cute with the little duck from Every Little Bit....hence the choice of orange and yellow for my colors!
The duck is also paper-pieced and shaded with a marker; the sentiment is from Teeny Tiny Wishes. As an afterthought, I added a button from last year's SAB offering, tied with a little yellow floss:
And here's the inside: sentiment is from And Many More, and the umbrella is also from Every Little Bit:
I was touched that she drew a church!
Enjoy your day!
Your baby card is adorable! I can identify with Cassidy's aversion to orange. I have a similar distaste for what is known around here as " the dreaded pink."
ReplyDeleteI love that skateboard image, great for a guy as are those papers! Those square embossing folders are adorable. The duck goes perfectly in it and the shading on the DSP looks awesome? Then I saw the button EF and that is just too cute! Cassidy is going to be crafty, just like you!
ReplyDeletePhewww, am I glad to read this... orange is one of my favorites!!! Both cards are darling, LeAnne

I love that paper pieced skateboard. Your baby shower card is so adorable. I love the button border, the embossed squares and that sweet paper pieced duck. I rarely ever use orange, but this creation has made me think maybe I should give it chance sometime;)
ReplyDeleteSo happy to see that Cassidy can be outside working on her chalk art again. I'm looking forward to some warmer temps around here.
Fabulous cards! I especially love the paper pieced skateboard and the embossing. Thanks for joining us at Little Red Wagon.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful cards. I was never much for orange myself until my kids went to high school and the school colors were orange and black. I love the chalk artwork. What fun on such a lovely day!
ReplyDeleteWell I am loving the Orange on both of your cards! So bright and happy! Your baby card is super sweet.....love those embossed squares!
ReplyDeleteThese are both just as cute as can be!! So is Cassidy :) I love that she drew a church too!!
ReplyDeleteOrange is such a happy colour and it is nice to get away from pink and blue for a baby shower. Sweet cards.
ReplyDeleteReally sweet cards! and adorable daughter!!

This just goes to prove that orange is not just for boys because it makes a pretty cute girl card too! I love that sweet little duckling!
