Happy Sunday, peeps! Time for another Paper Players challenge, and Ann has a wonderful seasonal color palette for us featuring three of SU’s newest In Colors:
Aren’t they wonderfully fallish!? I pulled out my favorite (sadly retired) fall set, French Foliage for my card today, and I CASEd a style I saw on Pinterest lately; you can see Lyssa’s card here. Normally I try not to CASE something here when I do my challenge card, but it was so striking, I couldn’t wait to try it! Here you go:
Lyssa stamped her flowers on a sheet of Typeset DSP but I had an old botanical book I picked up at a thrift shop, so I tore out a piece of that and began stamping my leaves on it. Actually, I’ve used a bunch of sets on this card!!! (I’ll list them all at the end)! My diecut is from Papertrey, and I cut it from a piece of Mossy Meadow to which I adhered a piece of adhesive sheet; then when I pulled the diecut out, I just peeled off the adhesive and the whole thing was very easy to attach! Everything else except the twine is SU. I used my Envelope Punch Board to create the tab for the top and I added some stitching around the sides, as well as a little diagonal embossing on the corner:
Despite a few little issues going on in our household, this pretty well sums up how I am feeling these days….blessed! And this also qualifies for the Shopping Our Stash challenge, which is fall colors, and the As You See It challenge, which is also fall!
Now, when I pulled out the sentiment, I was left with this negative piece; blessedly, I had centered it pretty well on a little strip that already had a little scallop popped out of it, so I went to work again, loosely using the CAS(E) This Sketch sketch for this week:
My sentiment is not in quite the right spot, but I just love how this turned out:
I used the gingham from Six-Sided Sampler to make the center of my flower, and a little retired die called Merry Details for my bird! Isn’t he cute?!
I sure hope you have as much fun with these colors as I did…can’t wait to see what you come up with! Be sure to check out all the samples from the DT as well:
A couple weeks ago I came into my craft room to find this little scene: a piece of ribbon, a pin cushion and several pins!
Cassidy told me she was making a dress for Cinderella…if you remember the Disney movie, the mice decorate a dress for Cinderella with pins, ribbons and bows! Hmmmm….maybe sewing lessons are next? Enjoy your day!

ReplyDeleteAbsolutely amazing cards, LeAnne! I love all of the details on the first card, especially the stitching. Maybe I need to come and take sewing lessons with Cassidy! Great work as always!
ReplyDeleteA dynamic duo, LeAnne! The details on the first card are amazing and I love the stitching! The second one is so sweet! I love the way you used your negative from the die!
ReplyDeleteBoth cards are terrific! Your stamping on the first card is awesome. I love all the different leaves. The negative piece for your second card looks like you planned it from the beginning. Perfectly spaced and works well with the sketch.
ReplyDeleteThese are some awesome fall cards! You always have the best ideas.

ReplyDeleteWonderful card and adorable pictures of your busy bee.
ReplyDeleteI have to share my day with you. We spent the day in Yellowstone and are in Cody WY now. We saw; two grizzly bears, many bison, elk, beautiful lakes and waterfalls. We hiked around the waterfalls and some boiling mud pots. Then the mountains driving from the park to Cody were breath taking. We had an amazing day. We are getting ready to find some food so I better go. I am feeling pretty blessed today as well. We really live is a beautiful country!
Two amazing cards using these colors, LeAnne! How clever of you to use the sentiment panel twice. I can't think that far in advance! I LOVE French Foliage and that card is amazing will the stitching and all the other details. The second is modern and wonderful, and thank you for reminding me that I have a (never used) Merry Details die!
ReplyDeleteI love these Fall cards LeAnne. The colours are wonderful. I like how you stamped the leaves over the page from the book and the stitching is the perfect addition. Great idea to use the negative from cutting out "Blesses" to create another beautiful card.
ReplyDeleteBeing our Canadian Thanksgiving this weekend I have been thinking about how much I have to be thankful - how good God is and how He has blessed me beyond what I could have imagined.
I love when you start piling it on girl! Beautifully stamped.....beautifully detailed.....and a bonus card!
ReplyDeleteSuch a pretty collage of fall elements on your first card LeAnne! I love the way your second turned out too, so CUTE!! Love Cassidy's imagination ;)
ReplyDeleteI just love all the yummy fall details on your creation, LeAnne! I especially love that 'blessed' die and how you have used it twice, the die cut and it's negative in the other card. I really miss French Foliage. I should have kept it!! Thanks for your entry in As You See It Challenges this week!
ReplyDeleteLeAnne, your cards are just fabulous! I love the detail on each card! I need a sewing lesson, too! Maybe Ann and I could come together! The stitching on the card is eye catching! I love everything about these cards! XX

Wow, LeAnne! Both cards are fantastic. You always rock the collage style and these color really shine that way. LOVE the use of your negative diecut in the second card. Cassidy's creativity warms the heart! I think sewing lessons with Grammy are definitely in order!
