It’s Sunday, and time for another Paper Players challenge, with the lovely Nance as our hostess! Check out this awesome array of colors:
Unfortunately, I needed a sympathy card this week. I really liked the current sketch from Try Stampin’ On Tuesday, as it allowed me to use each of the challenge colors on the background:
I found some DP in each of the challenge colors, and stamped my sentiment from Petite Pairs in the bottom left corner:
(I just realized I missed the three brads at the top left of the sketch…oh dear!!! I hope they’ll forgive me, LOL!) I knew I wanted to use flowers in my card, so I chose the open flower from Flower Shop, stamped in Basic Gray on Shimmery White cardstock, and colored them with reinkers, for the focal point:
I added some silver glimmer brads for the centers to complement the Basic Gray outlines. I know that most sympathy cards are somber in color, but I think sometimes it’s okay to use brighter colors. I hope the recipient liked it!
Now, what will you create with this color combination? The design team has come up with some pretty fabby things…you need to check them out!
Enjoy your day!
I love this card - the mix of DSP looks great and the flowers really tie the elements together. Such a nice sympathy card too - they don't always have to be sombre, do they?
ReplyDeleteUsing the ribbon to separate the layers looks terrific and I love the patterned papers. A lovely sympathy card!
