Ahh, it’s Friday! The end of a terrific week, and hopefully the start of a terrific weekend! I don’t really care much about the Super Bowl but the commercials are fun to watch!
Anyway, I combined a couple of challenges for my card today…the pretty colors from my sweet friends at the Color Throwdown:
and the awesome sketch from my sweet friend Linda at Freshly Made Sketches:
The samples using this sketch were just fabulous….in fact, I was intimidated because I was sure whatever I made wouldn’t be up to snuff! But I needed some birthday cards for a card order, so I went to work using a retired SU stamp given to me by a dear friend:
This went together fairly quickly, even though I cut out all the shells and popped up the conch. I wish I had put the sentiment in a different spot, but it’s there now…maybe I’ll make another! The cheesecloth is a retired Cornish Heritage Farms stamp, and I also used Gorgeous Grunge for some water “spray”!
Does this make you wish for warmer temperatures? It does me! They’ll be here before we know it and we’ll be complaining about how hot it is! Enjoy your day!
Cassidy has finally grasped the concept of Candyland….and even won a game yesterday!

ReplyDeleteLOVE this, LeAnne! That cheesecloth stamp looks so real. Sure wish I was at the beach right now. :)
ReplyDeleteI love this card. This SU set is one of my favorites and I haven't used it in awhile. I will have to get it out now that I have seen your card. Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteAnd I thought it was real cheesecloth and wondered how you got the sentiment on it.....duh.....lots of beautiful stamping here! So pretty! We are a long way from Candyland here. Right now the favorite game is Run Like the Wind when Grandma says let's go change your diaper......
ReplyDeleteYour card is totally up to snuff for this sketch challenge. My mind hit a blank for this challenge. I didn't like all the white space in it, but you showed me that it doesn't have to be all white and empty and boring. Great thinking with this great card!
ReplyDeletePERFECT take and the sketch and a beautiful use of the colors LeAnne. Wonderful card today, makes me long for summer!! Can you believe I've never played Candyland?? Our Joey had Chutes and Ladders as a little guy but never Candyland, go figure!!
ReplyDeleteHow lovely! Colors and design just perfect! Gorgeous Grunge really does look like water spray. Congrats to Miss C's Candyland win - so fun watching her grow up. Hugs
ReplyDeleteGreat card! Love the 'water spray' idea.
