Happy Sunday, everyone! Ann is our Paper Players hostess today with a fresh color challenge for you all:
Even though these colors are bright and pretty, I went in a wee bit different direction with my project today, as I wanted to play with some new goodies I just received! On pages 158-159 of the new catalog are the Tag a Bag Gift Boxes and Accessory Kit….very cool products! The boxes are made of a sturdy kraft with a heavy acetate sleeve that fits over it like a glove! You can put cookies, candy, any sort of goodies inside, then decorate it to your heart’s content! Since Father’s Day is coming up, I thought I would decorate mine in some Epic Day This & That papers and an MDS tag:
Here it is with the sleeve on, “tied” with some Pool Party ribbon:
And here is the tag, created in MDS; the top tag is the one I created, the bottom striped tag is from the Accessory kit; I just layered the two:
Here’s an end view. And here’s a little tip: I wanted to make sure the designer paper stayed on completely, so that the sleeve would not rip up the edges, so I first adhered a piece of Multipurpose Adhesive Sheet to the back of my DP, peeled it off and stuck it on to the box before assembling! What a cool product and no need for messy glue or worrying about the tape not adhering all the way to the edges!
My dad has a love of antiques (and has passed down that love to all of his kids!), so I know he’ll like this “antique” box, especially when I put some of his favorite goodies inside!
Now, what can you create with these colors? You can see that they can be used for all sorts of projects! Check out the Paper Players blog to see what the other designers created and share your beautiful creation with us as well!
We had some serious rain here at the end of the week….but we got out our boots and umbrellas and ventured outside anyway:
I love what you created today! Those boxes are on my wish list, but now I think I will order before father's day!! Hope they come in on time!
ReplyDeleteGreat vintage box and tag! I love that first pic of Cassidy under the umbrella. Really great shot!!
ReplyDeleteGreat vintage box! You do vintage so well. Love the Sunflower! Very very cool!
ReplyDeleteLook at the gorgeous umbrella. I'd go out in the rain too with an umbrella like that;) Nothing stops Cassidy does it?
ReplyDeleteI love the way you decorated this box. These paper are perfect for a Father's Day gift. The tag is such a wonderful finishing touch - love the antique car.
I didn't really give these boxes or the Adhesive sheets a thought when browsing through the catalogue. I might have to give them a second look now.
I haven't blog hopped in over two weeks so I haven't seen your new blog design. I love it. Great colors & the header is great. Great idea for a father's day gift!
ReplyDeleteLove the vintage look you created! And Cassidy and the umbrella are adorable together!
ReplyDeleteAt first glance this looks like an antique tin! What an amazing project! We had heavy rain Friday. Wish I'd had some of these boots and a bright umbrella!
ReplyDeleteLove seeing how you modified the kit and box! Great tip on using the adhesive sheets--why don't I have those?! Such a clever take on these pretty colors! Hope you've dried out by now!
ReplyDeleteI love the antique look of this! And I'm so impressed with your MDS skills!
ReplyDeleteThis is such a beautiful project LeAnne and thanks for the tip about the multipurpose adhesive sheet. My boxes have just arrived too and I adore them!
ReplyDeleteLeAnne, before I get to the project... LOVE that umbrella, she looks like a little fairy trying to hide from the rain! Brought a huge smile to my face.
ReplyDeleteNow.... on to your project. I love that you thought outside of the box with these colors. I would never have thought vintage, but you showed me how wrong I was. I hope your Dad loved it.
Hugs
Jaydee
Love what you did to this box, LeAnne! I bet your dad will love his "antique" box. And how smart to use adhesive sheets to adhere everything. I keep forgetting I have those! Hugs :) Sandy
