Paper Players 111

DSCF6350

Hey everyone!  I am home from a little R&R, late with my Paper Players post, but I finally made it!  Jaydee has a wonderful theme for us today:

Unfortunately, I needed a sympathy card as soon as I came home, and my poor Lovely as a Tree has been so neglected, I thought it would be an appropriate set to use:

PP111-LeAnne

In keeping with the leaves theme, the leaves on my main panel are stamped with Stazon and watercolored with More Mustard, Crumb Cake, Cajun Craze and Riding Hood Red:

I did some subtle stamping of the same image on the background with Sahara Sand.   I used both the Woodgrain background stamp and the Woodgrain embossing folder for some interest and texture.  The sentiments inside and out are both from Blessings from Heaven:

My “ribbon” is a piece of More Mustard that I distressed, then separated, to give it a suede look; a little dab of the More Mustard ink pad gave it some additional color.  I couldn’t help adding that little leaf from the set!

I also used the RetroSketches sketch #27:

I hope this seasonal challenge will help you segue from summer to fall!  Play along with your leaves or tree creation over at the Paper Players blog---we can’t wait to see what you come up with!

  13. Glad to see you back - hope you enjoyed your R&R. Sorry to hear you needed a sympathy card though. This card is wonderful. Your colouring on the leaves is great and I love the little triangles peaking out from the image/sentiment panel. Your "suede ribbon" is a wonderful way to finish it all off.
