Hello, peeps! I apologize for the lateness of this post.....I am away for a few days and you know how things go when you're not in your regular routine! Anyway, I was asked by the sweet gals at OCC to be a guest designer for
Our Creative Corner today---and what a fabulous challenge they have: a resist challenge with a twist! You can read all about it
here! The "resist" part is any type of resist stamping technique, and the "twist" is to use wings! I used some pretty Pink Paislee stamps along with a musical background stamp, heat embossed on glossy white paper in clear EP and sponged in various shades of pink, as well as a beautiful butterfly stamped on vellum! What do you think:
I used Pink Pirouette, Regal Rose and Raspberry Ripple for my colors, and my butterfly is embellished with some rhinestones. The banners are also vellum and are attached to some sweet little ribbons!
I hope that you will find this challenge ir"resist"able and play along with us. Be sure to check out what the other designers have created at
Our Creative Corner as well!
Here's a little pic from last week of my DGD eating a "watermelon popsicle"....something I saw on Pinterest!
(I hope I haven't already posted this, LOL!!!)
What a fabulous BG you have created for your card!! Love the vellum sentiments too :) Great job - you aced the challenge and the GDT spot :)
ReplyDeleteI love your sponging and collage style background. I love it when a card has a lot of "depth" to it. The black ribbons look great, they bring out the depth and make your pink tones pop. Very interesting, beautiful and original, LeAnne.
ReplyDeleteWOW - beautiful.
ReplyDeleteIt wouldn't matter, LeeAnn. She's adorable! No matter how many times you see her.
ReplyDeleteHello Le Anne
ReplyDeleteI know I commented on your card when I received it but I have to reiterate that I think you have done all of us proud at OCC with this creation, so I thank you for that.
Your resist Bg and your delightful butterfly is just so eye-catching it just makes for a most beautiful card.
Smiles:)

Watermelon popsicle sounds very good! I love watermelon. Not pickled, though: saw that at a jams/jellies shop somewhere in Lancaster County (can't remember the name of the place, but it's a big one) and thought "Eew!"
ReplyDeleteLOVE how your card turned out, LeAnne. It's glorious!
Gorgeous!!!
ReplyDeleteWonderful colours and delicious resist - so eye-catching, and as refreshing as a watermelon popsicle!

This is so creative, and looks a little out of your norm, which is good. I have not done any resist stamping in a very long try. Might have to give it a try. Thanks for the inspiration.
ReplyDeleteHi LeAnne, my jaw dropped when I saw your card for this challenge, I love it! The butterfly is beautiful and I find my myself repeatedly drawn to that gorgeous little bird. Just stunning! Thank you for being our Guest Designer at OCC this week and for the inspiration!

ReplyDeleteHugs;)
This is would have to be one of the most beautiful cards I have seen! I absolutely LOVE it! Can you come to Australia and teach me how you did it???
