Hi everyone! It’s Tuesday and that means ColourQ. Wow, Arielle really challenged us today---check out this lovely inspiration photo and colors:
I will have to say that this card will be filed under the category “Not Liking it All That Much”! Not to say that the colors aren’t wonderful, but my application of them just leaves something to be desired. I used the Fall to Layout sketch #207, from memory, so I messed up the sentiment placement, but didn’t realize it until too late. So here it is:
The three colors are actually sponged on the white cardstock; I masked the edges and panels, then stamped my main image in Bravo Burgundy craft ink and heat embossed it with clear EP:
The rest was just simply stamped; I added a bit of dry embossing on the side and added a Summer Starfruit ribbon:
Hope you can find something sweet to create with these colors---zoom on over to the ColourQ blog to share it with us! We can’t wait to see what you come up with!
Everything tastes better with a “friend”!
OK I might agree with you on this card but it is more the Summer Starfruit color than the card itself. Or is that the So Saffron. Maybe it is the lighting.
ReplyDeleteI wish we could have lunch together. Hee Hee
Hey Le Anne, I like your card and I swear I love this go to set. Sometimes you don't have to go overboard on design. I think it turned out pretty. Love that you embossed the flower.

I absolutely love this card LeAnne and think your sentiment placement is perfect!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful LeAnne and your clear embossing is just so yummy!
ReplyDeleteI am going to have to disagree with you, because I like it a lot. Although I'm a HUGE fan of Summer Starfruit, so you shouldn't trust my opinion. Lol! I really like how you sponged the ink on the white cardstock and the shine from the embossing. I hope to play along this week! :)
ReplyDeleteI had such trouble with these colors and on my long card-making journey I thought about using this sketch, but I couldn't come up with anything as nearly as beautiful as this! Your idea to mask and stamp the three blocks on the side is inspired, to say the least! The embossed flower and stem look fantastic and I love the sentiment!
ReplyDeleteThis set just moved up to the top of my wish list with this card. Nice job!
