Wow, it is a blustery day today in PA; I feel like I should have a little Toto in my arms and wearing ruby slippers—already DH had to renail some roofing on the little shed he’s building! Anyway, I made a card today for a special friend using the sketch from Pals Paper Arts:
and although the sketch is a square card, I was using an image that my friend stamped for me, which was rectangular, so I did a traditionally shaped card:
This is for my friend Martha, who is just such a blessing to me! She is a mentor, a sounding block, a shoulder to cry on and a woman of strong Christian faith! If we lived closer together, I could just see us together, sitting on this bench, sharing some stamping ideas!! LOL! Martha stamped this image for me; she shared the scalloped border you see here and she also gifted me with the pretty butterfly charm! Isn’t she sweet? I used Copics for coloring (I think I should have used another color for the skin tones!!) and some yummy Lime Twist Happy Go Lucky DP….oooh, just love that stuff!
So, since she reads my blog, this won’t be a surprise when she receives it, but I think she’ll still enjoy it! Oh, and here’s the inside:
Enjoy your day!

ReplyDeleteDITTO, DITTO, DITTO, LeAnne,
ReplyDeleteI am so in awe of your tribute. Firstly, you are all those things to me too. You bless my Spirit, and life in so many ways. And I count you my sister-in-Christ and that is a very special bond. You inspire me creatively and personally and I Thank You from the bottom of my heart.
Now...onto this wonderful card! Your coloring is so real and I think the skin looks fine. I love your choice of colors, CS, and embeiies together and everything is just perfect. I will cherish your card always and maybe I will surprise you some day and appear on your doorstep and ask for a cup of tea!
Be blessed always, Martha
What a sweet card! Good friends are priceless! Love how you snuck that fancy border punch in there! And your coloring is terrific!

ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful card, and I loved reading the friendship story that you and Martha share. Some of my favorite people are those that are my crafting friends, that I've never had a chance to meet. I think we are blessed with a loving and caring community of fellow crafters. Hugs and blessings to you and Martha both!
