My upline gave me a really nice gift at convention, so I wanted to make her a card to say thank you! I had seen someone wearing a beautiful shirt featuring these colors, so I took my inspiration from that, using Fabulous Florets:
The flowers are stamped in Stazon on textured Whisper White and watercolored loosely with Pool Party and Basic Gray inks. I added a punched border, a distressed border and a ruffled ribbon border to the side. I wish I had some wider black ribbon, as I think the narrow ribbon just sort of gets lost. The little “thanks” is from the Kindness Matters set. I really love this color combo….what do you think? Thanks for visiting today!
Wee Details:
- Stamps: Fabulous Florets, Kindness Matters
- Paper: Pool Party, Textured Whisper White, Basic Gray, Basic Black
- Ink: Stazon, Basic Gray, Pool Party
- Acc: Aquapainter, Pearls, Dotted Scallop Ribbon Border Punch, Ruffled Ribbon
Leanne this is drop dead gorgeous! Casing this design and that color combination for sure!!!!!
ReplyDeleteI love it, LeAnne! Great design, and I love the scattered blossoms lightly colored...very creative! And I LOVE seeing all sort of cute pix each day of your cutie! :D
ReplyDeleteI am a huge fan of that skinny ribbon so I have to say that I like it! I have way too much of it :) And I love that loose watercoloring - very artsy!
ReplyDeleteOh LeAnne, this is GORGEOUS! Adore the color combination and I love your loose watercoloring behind the flowers. Stunning!
ReplyDeleteOMG! Look at Cassidy - how cute is that? Has she let go yet, or does she still prefer to keep one hands on things? Your card is simply beautiful too LeAnne!
ReplyDeleteLeAnne,
ReplyDeleteYou do such wonderful cards. I love that flower stamp and must get mine out to use for a card when I get back to WI. I left it over there. : ( I love the water coloring which matches the DSP perfectly. You are such wonderful inspiration.
Blessings, Martha
This is a stunner! I love your watercolouring and I like the subtle narrow ribbon.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful design, LeAnne! Those colors ARE gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteI love your card, and the little Gerber grandchild and I then saw your wallpaper....
ReplyDeleteIf you take a photo of your wallpaper and place it on your computer, minimize it in your photo program, you could print out some FANTASTIC paper!!!!
That set looks like fun.
ReplyDeleteLove your card. It looks so summery and reminds me of the fabrics of my childhood when I'm certain the summers were much cooler {dream}.
This is fabulous. I love how you've coloured these flowers - they're wonderful. I also love the strips down the centre - great combination of textures!
ReplyDeletei love this! the "loose" watercoloring is perfect.
ReplyDeletejust beautiful!
LeAnne, I too love this color combo! It's really a beautiful card and I think glossy paper would work too! (maybe not watercoloring it though....)
ReplyDeleteToo funny LeAnne - I skipped over reading the first part of your post but DID read the second part. Until this gorgeous card arrived today I really didn't know that it was intended for me!!! I just went back to recheck the post and just now noticed there was a real good hint in the opening that if I had paid better attention I would have know it was perhaps on it's way! I did read the part about how you made it. Thank you so much for 'gifting ME' with this lovely card.
