One of the sets on my wish list from the new catalog was Best Friends Forever. Imagine my thrill when I opened my tote at convention, and there it was! I combined it with Word Play to alter a Hodgepodge Hardware tin to give to one of my club hostesses, filled with a few little goodies. Here it is:
The photo doesn’t really capture how pretty it is! I used all the images from the set except for the “BFF”. Using Island Indigo Patterns DP, I embossed the leaf image in the bottom left corner with Versamark ink and clear embossing powder, then sponged it with II ink to bring out the embossing:
The other elements were stamped in Island Indigo, Chocolate Chip and Pool Party, including the heart, the polka dot and the flourish, which is on the butterfly:
I also stepped waaaay out of my comfort zone and used the Glass Glitter on my butterfly. For some reason, it makes me nervous to use this----it’s just a little more intense than I usually like!!! There is an Island Indigo brad in the center of my Chocolate Chip flower and a little embellishment of Pool Party ruffled ribbon:
To cover up the words on the bottom of the tin, I covered it with the new Chocolate Chip scallop dots ribbon, adhered with Sticky Strip:
The tin is filled with lots of little bits & pieces of doodads from my stamp table….punch-outs, ribbons, stamped images, buttons…..and I think the sentiment “Imagine the Possibilities” is perfect for it! Thanks for visiting today!

LOL That was totally the opposite of my reaction to the set. This makes me think it might have some possibilities though. Love the embossed image, the gorgeous flower, and the stamped hearts. Beautiful!
ReplyDelete(and I haven't opened my glass glitter because it scares me!)
This tin is beautiful! I admire all the detail that you put into it and the butterfly is so pretty!
ReplyDeleteAnd I see you might of had a little helper in the stamp room. *smile*
OH wow your hostess is going to love this. What a great idea and I need to go check out that set. Beautiful!
ReplyDeleteAnd you little sweetie looks like she is ready to get you something. How fast can she open that drawer?
Look at that little baby blue standing up - getting ready to run :) Love you other blue as well - the tin that is! I haven't opened all of my new stuff yet - maybe today!
ReplyDeleteSo pretty with the stamping on the DSP, glitter on the butterfly, and that awesome flower.
ReplyDeleteI cut a paper bag into 3 inch by 10 inch strips and used a scallop punch for the 8 flowers.
ReplyDeleteThen I sprayed them with Febreeze (you know how brown paper STINKS when it's wet?) I scrunched, then punched a brad through the center. Fluffed the flower, then smashed it with my fist!!
Now, I have the cutest flower even though it's been flattened, and it will go through the mail with a few extra stamps.
