The Paper Players First Challenge!

DSCF8017

Today’s the day!  The first challenge hosted by Lesley of Always Playing with Paper!  This week, the challenge is a theme:  to make a Father’s Day or masculine card or project!

Theme 1

I pulled out an older technique that I haven’t used in forever, to make my masculine card:  an origami shirt!  Here you go:

DSCF8015

There are lots of tutorials out there that show how to make these; I used this one, but instead of a dollar bill, I used a piece of SU’s Rich Razzleberry designer paper cut to 4”x6”.  SU’s dp is a little heavier than some, so using a cheaper paper only printed on one side would be a little easier.  I added a placket, some eyelet “buttons” and a printed panel to make mine a polo shirt, but you can make one with buttons all the way down the front if you want…..or whatever!  It’s a fun technique that always gets a “WOW”!  And it is really easy!

The other DP is from Tall Tales; it had been scored for another project which I never finished, so I thought it added a bit of textural interest; it was stamped with So Saffron using Circle Circus and punched the edge with the Spiral Punch.  Sentiment is from All Holidays, stamped in each color of Bordering Blue, So Saffron and Rich Razzleberry, then pieced together.

I hope you will check out the Always Playing with Paper blog and play along with us!!  You’ll find the details there.  While you’re there, be sure to see what the other Paper Players have come up with!  You can check them out right here, too:

Hopefully I will get my usual weekly Christmas card done later!!  Have a great day!
