Happy Tuesday, all! Have you gotten any recent SU sets in the new packaging? Although I like the slim design, I find that while they're stored sideways on my shelf, I can't see the names of the sets, so I forget that I have them! That's what happened with the new set called Aspen Grove!! As I was going through them anew, I thought the images would be great for the sketch at CAS on Sunday:
I needed a quick masculine birthday card, so here's what I came up with:
The trees were stamped in Gray Granite and Garden Green; the sentiment from the retired Suite Sayings, also stamped in Garden Green. I used two circle dies to cut it out:
This whipped up quickly! I love this sketch as it's quite versatile, too! Thanks for popping in today! Enjoy it and be blessed!
"I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world." John 16:33

ReplyDeleteYour card is so nicely masculine. Those are always a challenge unless the fellow is a fisherman, car mechanic, etc. Sadly I have gotten one of the new package style SU stamp sets & it will probably be my last. So disappointed in the case-free package. I had a few CTMH sets in that style package but I had moved those into the small SU cases for easier location.
ReplyDeleteOh, my goodness, LeAnne! I'm very happy that you've found and used this set - it's bound to become a favorite! LOve the sentiment, your chosen colors, and that font!
ReplyDeleteWhat a nifty set this is and it works perfectly for a guy card! This is just terrific, LeAnne!
ReplyDeleteGreat how you turned the stripes into trees. Cool card! Thank you for joining us at CAS on Friday!
ReplyDeleteGreat card, LeAnne! I have seen so many cool cards made with this set and yours is another awesome one! Now I may have to get this set since it makes such great cards! LOL I am struggling with the new packaging, too! Only good thing is they do not take up much space but I have to leaf thru the sets until I find what I am looking for. Have a great day even though rain is on our doorstep!
ReplyDeleteUsing those trees for the verticals is inspired LeAnne - I would never have thought of that! Beautifully CAS too.
ReplyDeleteFun card with the aspen trees, I forgot about that stamp set! I don't care for the new packaging because like you said, you can't see the names when they're sitting on a shelf, and I haven't found any storage that's a good size for the envelopes either. But I also don't want to pay extra to buy the old stamp cases and move them over so I'm a bit grumpy about the new packaging!
