Happy Sunday, peeps! And Happy Mother's Day to those moms in the US! Jaydee has a fun color challenge for us today at the Paper Players! Check this out:
I chose to use hues of pink and green that are a little different than the challenge photo, using some pretty papers from the Carta Bella Gather at Home line:
I cut strips of the paper in dots and plaid, then mounted them on a floral background. This cute little sentiment is also from the paper pad; I adhered it to an Ornate Frame diecut of Basic Black. The silver portion of the challenge is from the tiny little silver embellishments on the diecut:
I just think this sentiment is perfect for Dana...she LOVES plants! So this card is for her, for Mother's Day! I used the same sentiment from a past Paper Pumpkin kit as I used on a card earlier this week; the card base is Petal Pink and it doesn't look like it would match here in this photo, but in real life, it does!
I hope you'll play with our fun color challenge--it may look daunting, but I am sure you crafty peeps will knock it out of the park! Check out what the other Design Team members did by visiting the
Paper Players blog, then share yours with us too!
Dana took me and Cassidy to The PotteryWorks in Lancaster, PA for some Mother's Day creative time! Dana chose a little fairy-light jar; believe it or not, once it is fired, it will be a pretty aqua color! Cassidy chose a Star Wars bank to give to her cousin!
I made a couple little figurines and an acorn dish; it's hard to imagine what the final product will look like, as the colors intensify when fired.
Afterwards, we went to an outdoor restaurant near the shop, and while we were eating, we heard some "clip-clops"......
This police officer was on the biggest horse I have ever seen! He told us it is a Percheron, and his name, aptly, was King! He's so tall the officer has to stand on something to get up into the saddle!
I think Cassidy had some other thoughts, based on the proximity of that horse's rump!
And look at the size of his feet!
It was a really great evening! I'll let you know what the final projects look like when we pick them up in a couple of weeks! Thanks for popping in, enjoy your day and be blessed!

ReplyDeleteYour card is a beautiful take on the sketch and those papers are so pretty! It looks like you all had a great time creating at the pottery, and that horse is absolutely majestic! Happy belated mother's day!
ReplyDeleteI'm betting Dana loved that you made her a Mother's Day card in all of these sweet colors and papers, LeAnne! So pretty!
ReplyDeleteI heard lots of clop clopping over the weekend - I'm sure glad that Cassidy didn't have to witness anything unappetizing during her lunch! hmmm If he needs a stepstool to board the horse, I hope he never has to deboard in a hurry to arrest anyone!
I can't wait to see all these treasure after firing!

ReplyDeleteWhat a great post! I found it in my spam folder this morning when I went to empty it out. So glad you had a wonderful Mother's Day celebration. Can't wait to see all your beautiful bisque creations. When I saw the frame for you sentiment I loved it, not knowing I have it and probably haven't used it...lol! Maybe it's the black with the beautiful sentiment piece that made it look "new" to me. Have a blessed day.
ReplyDeleteLeAnne, sounds like you had a wonderful Mother's Day with the girls. I bet your goodies turned out beautifully, too. I'm so glad that you went with the softer version of the colors. Your colors have a retro feel to them and I love how you showcased them with the sketch. Fabulous card. Thanks for rocking my challenge this week
